Why does SSC paint light reflections on eyes?

Good job Sean. You can see the likeness come out in the sculpt a lot more when the dot is gone. :lecture

I have plenty 'without' the dot, not up there with Sean in terms of quality I'm afreaid, but I think they show that even when not catching much light, it's still more realistic.

Many of my old medicom figs have the dot as well, but i don't have any good in focus detail shots.

DROP THE DOT SST!
 
The new Indy seems to have them too, oh well, out with the paintbrush again!
 
Have SSC ever commented on why they continue to do this in the face of, at best, indifference to the dot, and at worst, vehement hatred? You can add my call for dot removal too.
