I know it's been brought up a few times in passing, but I'd like to hear everyone's thought as to why doesn't Hot Toys release their different muscle bodies as a base body like their TrueTypes.

It would be very profitable for Hot Toys to release these bodies with their plugs and pegs. I mean look how many people are looking for the Comedian body (cough cough... SkiMan...) and with Perseus having new legs and ankle pegs people will be looking for this body complete with pegs. Then we have the T-800 body. I know I have at least 3 for my customs. I really really think Hot Toys should let us have it. It would benefit them a lot.

Exactly. That's because only Leonidas came with those pegs. Imagine if they had released the Leonidas body as a base body. We'd have plenty available.

I have no idea why they dont release both the Comedian body and Wolverine body as they do with the True Types :(

Duh, money. If they released the bodies as standard releases, people would buy the bodies vs. the figures. When Wolverine sold out, people were buying the Comedian (who wasn't that popular) for his body alone then parted the rest out. Releasing the bodies as TTs could also hurt future figures they'd offer with people doing customs and likely passing on the official figure if released. That said, they have gone on record as saying that the idea would be considered.

I disagree. They may move a few extra figures due to that but I think they are missing an opportunity to make more money. They own the bodies outright with no license fees to cut into their profit margins like all the other figures they do.

The t-800 I'm not sure would be worth it but a Wolverine/Comedian with Perseus legs would do great.

Leo would probably do well too but it's near impossible to dress so I'm not sure about that one.

I would definitely pick up Comedian/Wolverine muscle bodies by the case!, heck, I even think people would only be buying those instead of the normal TT's. Imagine the possibilities.

I strongly disagree. If they release figures I'm sure people would buy them just as much as they do now. Some people would buy a Hot Toys figure just because it was made by Hot Toys and others would buy it because they want parts. Selling the bodies would only increase their money intake.

Yeah, there's no way the revenue from people buying full figures just for the body would be more than the cash to be had from officially selling them on their own.

Another thing they should start doing is making the heads universal for thirty bodies. Its slim pickings for heads that can pop right onto these muscle bodies. You have to mod the heads a little to get them to fit on the muscle bodies nicely.

I would hate if all heads were the same. Some figures look better and make more sense to have a sculpted neck... and some don't.
