The Day the Earth Stood Still is a timeless classic, one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made. The only thing a remake could add is prettier special effects. Pointless.

I am surprised they haven't already tried to remake The Day The Earth Stood Still, especially during the big sci-fi craze of the late 1970's into the 80's.

I really liked the way the original Robot looked, very 1950's. I hope all they do is make a classic looking robot like from the 50's but use CG to make it look better. I don't want realistic, I want classic.

I want something that's never been seen before. This has been done. War of the Worlds was "updated" but I was more terrified by George Pal's film.

I'm sure it will be terrible, and with Keanu as the star it doesn't look too pretty.

So will he be the alien or the male earth lead? Not that it really matters... but it might be more interesting if he's the alien.

Because the sheer awesomeness of Bruce Campbells presence would distract viewers from the movie, which may be a good thing. But you know how those other actors can get all biatchy when no one notices them.
