You’re right I absolutely need my white, latino, black, south asia, mid asia and east asia looking orcs fighting a white, latino, black, south asia, mid asia and east asia army of men!

It’s not like that would ever take me out of the movie or anything.

Because you know a FANTASY world should always be about real life earthly representation first!

I hope MGM goes into the 1939 Wizard of Oz and changes all of those munchkins into adult sized humans from every earthly race and while they’re at it go into LOTR and change all of those hobbits, orcs, uruk-hai, elves, wraiths and humans into every earthly race imaginable.

I demand that be done because me wanting to feel good is more important than their artistic integrity and vision!

I’ve also sent a letter to the president of China I demand he follow your wonderful pie chart there ASAP in their movie productions!

ASAP!!

I just want more Asians. specially hot girls
yet "diverse" Hollywood never seems to cast them.
give me, give me an army of pretty Asian elves in lord of the rings.....m go ahead Hollywood. go ahead.
go ahead.
yeah. give me. give me that. but they don't.
weird how diversity in Hollywood always feels so not-diverse. they seem to ignore huge parts of the world,

When will they make an all white version of the Wiz!
What about West Side Story set in medieval Europe.
or Lion King set in Denmark.
:cuss

Oh, wait, ....never mind.

I'm looking forward to watching this. The songs in the stage show are great. Obviously "Defying Gravity" gets all the attention (and rightly so), but my favourite songs have always been "Popular" and "What Is This Feeling?". I didn't realise this was a 2-parter until I saw that another great song, "For Good", wasn't on the movie soundtrack. I thought "surely they haven't cut that song out of the movie?!". Nope, turns out there's a Part Two next year!

I was initially skeptical about this being split into two parts, especially seeing as Part One is over 2 hrs 30 mins alone! But a lot of reviews I have read have mentioned that the added run time is actually well utilised in fleshing out the story and characters. No "Hobbit" syndrome here, it seems.

Run time didn’t bother me at all but I haven’t seen the play.

I love long movies though I have a good bladder.

At first I kept thinking I am definitely not the target audience for this kind of female centric movie but then I thought about it and of course I am.

It’s a fantasy monster movie with a witch and flying monkies.
