Besides being a custom figure, this was also painted by JC Hong. We love JC Hong, but we're growing one of our own.

Right, Customikey?
Are you saying Mikeys....."hong"? [sorry I know its a stretch]

yeah ive got one of those hanks sculpts sitting in my desk drawer along with the vin diesel head. someday im gonna get the time to create my own saving private ryan squad.

Anytime I see these incredible sculpts, I lament that I'll never be able to afford one. But I'd be glad to paint up someone elses! I promise to return it. Really!!

Yeah, it's a nice Hanks sculpt... really well done... and FAAAARRR out of my price range. But I can still look at it and weep sadly... :monkey2

anyone find one of those for sale yet?? im curious to see how much they are costing.

~~hey mikey what are your rates?? i do have a Hasbro Palpatine sitting around.:emperor

That is an amazing sculpt. I dont know much about sculpting, but why can't Sideshow produce figures of this quality? You make molds of the sculpts but I guess it comes down to the paint job. It would be a great thing to see figures of the quailty in the $60.00 range, which is already a high price tag.

But alot of SS newer 12 inch stuff looks alot better from past figures. Legolas and Boromir are excellent looking figures. I just hope when they ship, they stay that way.

IMO SS does make sculpts like these, but as you said I really comes down paint apps....just look at the Anakin thread....Great scuplts can really be brought down by a bad paint app....you can also look at the Hasbro Palpatine...looked terrible until Mickey put a great paint job on it....

Hey there. Well you can try your luck by contacting Arnie Kim. He'll sell you one for around $900.

He's a great artist. Have you seen his Bruce Lee figures? And this is not the last Tom Hanks he'll be making. Expect to see Apollo 13 and Forrest Gump Hanks...

OHH only 900$..ok then , i'll take 3 of them....

When somebody markets a line of "Joe Vs. The Volcano" figures would I pony up for a Hanks figure.

and I'm not kidding. I thought about getting a custom Hanks head and Bond in a Tux to make this happen. But all the Tom Hanks heads are older and heavier than this project would require!

I would love to see this line be made, but I do understand the complaints over the comparison.

"Private Ryan" is definately one of the best films made in quite some time.

Yeah, you would need a skinnier face Hanks... like Big-era... or The Burbs-era.

In fact....I would love to make a Burbs Hanks figure... that would be sweet. :lol

Burbs Hanks would be awesome! If only he came with a giant barbecue and stretcher!:lol

I love early Tom Hanks films, and he seemed sorta ageless until I saw shots for Davinci Code. Now all of his earlier work makes him look so young and skinny! If we could get a Joe Banks or Ray Peterson figure, then I would hope somebody might consider Tuck Pendleton too!

As great as this figure looks, I can't ever imagine paying that sort of money for a figure. I am cringing for when my credit card gets dinged for ED-209!

The Burbs !!!!!! Now that was a great Flick !!!!!

Yeah, the Burbs was one of my favorite movies as a kid... I used to alternate between that one, The Lost Boys and ROTJ whenever I got sick or hurt as a way to cheer me up.

The Burbs was just cool as Hell.... :rock
