Will there ever be a great likeness Rambo PF or other statue?

I keep looking at the SSC PF and I want it but have read how bad it looks. Even the 1/6th figures, mostly sold out, are not good likenesses. In fact, the ONLY good likeness is HCG's Rambo IV statue, but I am not a fan of the older Rambo look. Can't one of SSC's top sculptures give us a true likeness of First Blood Rambo, or Rambo 2, or Rambo 3?

The Hot Toys M65 version from First Blood is probably the best representation of the character so far, in my opinion.

Not true at all. The first release left more to be desired, but the follow-up Rambos were some of the best Stallone likenesses in the market, statues or otherwise. Guess if you owned them, you'd know. :dunno

Even trautman, aside from the pale skin, is pretty awesome. Invest some cash into these pieces:exactly:

Well, I've seen them all in photos on here or other sites and the faces just are not that great. Maybe in person they are better. I want a PF and still am considering this one, but not at full price or higher...those on Ebay selling at cost or higher are dreaming as this is a piece that the Reg has sold out (but the ex is still available).

Let's see if I can't arrange a little show so you can see how good the likenesses are on the HT figs. :wink1:

Strongly disagree, the HCG statue is nice and has Stallone's eyes well, but overall it's iffy. The HT heads are not perfect, but I feel much closer. Rambo 3 and M65 have really nice likenesses.

And since I don't have the new 1/4 HCG, I can show similar photos of the 1/6 HCG by the same sculptor, and pretty much same quality as the 1/4 statue.

Also, to answer the question of the thread, statue, probably not, Rambo isn't heavily marketed, we're unlikely to get much more out of Sideshow or HCG other than the 1/2 scale bust they're working on. HT is probably the only hope for more Rambo and if Barney Ross is any indication, it will be the best Rambo collectible to represent him out there.

The m65 and HGC are the best I've seen. Must have missed the m65as I was searching for statues but 1/6th's are cool too.

how come that rambo IV statue didn't have the cross bracelet and watch sculpted on the wrists?

Rambo III figure always looked wrong to me.
I understand it was probably too much to ask (especially in the era) to sculpt a new body but the Rambo II body just doesn't work.

Stallone looked vastly different between the two movies and put on a ton more muscle for Rambo III.

Every time I see the figure I just see Rambo III's head on Rambo II's body.

Body works fine. :dunno

Yes, at the time, it was too much to expect a unique body. Truthfully, even the Rambo 2 wasn't really Stallone's build and the scars were cheaply added, dug in instead of embossed. Also, truly accurrate, the body scars change from 1 to 2 to 3, never the same. The face scar also changes from 2 to 3 to 4.
