Thanks guys!

I'm now working on a daytime Dexter. I've finished sewing a shirt and pants, also finished his laminate. Almost finished his glass slides box (real wood with working hinges and the 47 slides present at the end of season 2!). I still have to paint a head for that one. I hope I can post pics in the next two weeks when I have a little more time! :D

And I miss Doakes too (what a great 1/6 character that would be! Maybe I'll try one!) and Lila! That ^^^^^ was so hot!

BTW, I think they could bring back Doakes if they wanted... Quite a stretch, but here's a plot twist that might work.
First, let's not forget that Doakes knows people in black ops, so files can be manipulated (remember how one of his murders -a Tonton Macoute - was buried)

So here it is:
The cabin explodes. Doakes is wounded but not killed. He loses consciousness. He wakes up a few minutes later at gunpoint. A black guy, friend of the drug dealers him and Dex have eliminated is here to get his dope back. They fight, roll on the floor and Doakes breaks the guy's neck. He searches him, finds his ID, a cell phone and car keys; He doesn't know why the cabin exploded, so obviously, he thinks Dex has made it to kill him and he is still the prime suspect.
So he calls his connection in DC, tells him to upload the black guys dental and thumbprint records to his own file instead of his because he wants to get the real Bay Herbour Butcher. He tosses the drug dealer into the swamp where he knows alligators (he encountered one before!) will eat him. He takes the guy's car and disappear (he needs to get healed anyway)
When the cops arrive, they find partially devoured remains of a black guy they identify as Doakes (because of the dental record). Doakes is alive, hiding and will come back when he is ready to make dexter pay! :D

Here's my WIP Dexter with the great 16k head.

Interesting idea, 16K. I can see something like that happening, but. . .what about the burns on the body? Dig your custom too, Elvis. Looks like his most recent victim was a Ghostbuster :(

:lol that's what I was going to say! Looks like Dex's bag's gonna be full of slime! :lol

Seriously, your Dex is the embodiement of the sentence "if looks could kill"! Great work Elvis!:banana

EDIT:

Arrrh! Yes! The burns! Dammit, I was forgetting about the burns.... I'm sure they could come up with something to explain that! Maybe the guy was nearby when the cabin exploded... lame, I know...

Cool looking Dexter, elvis! Gotta show off some more pics of that!

My 16k Dex sculpt is still sitting on my shelf, hoping to get to work on it soon.

I thought it would be cool on the show if Harry disappeared for awhile & Dexter could see Doakes in his place. Doakes could try to try to convince Dexter to stop killing and turn himself in. Maybe, Dexter could have fallen and hit his head, then he stopped seeing Harry and started seeing Doakes or something. :lol

BTW, the first episode of Season 4 was leaked onto the net :angelsmil

Oh yeah! A Doakes mentor could be a great idea! :D

I saw the leaked episode two weeks ago, and it really rocks! I like how they parodied the scene with the mosquitto and Dexter getting ready. and that new killer is a chilling mofo!!!

can you make some laminates for sale? I'd like to get one. Or does anyone maybe know where I can find one?

Well, it's not very difficult to do. Just press some sculpey to make a thin layer. Take the picture of Dexter's card (I think you can find it in a thread here, but if you can't LMK and I'll upload the one I have), print it on photo paper the right size (about 1 cm wide). Cut it and press on the sculpey layer to make an imprint. Cut around but leave a small qt of sculpey around. Remove the photo, bake the sculpey and paint it black, then glue the picture in the right place. Add a chain and there you go! Laminato presto! :D

I'll try to post pics of mine tomorrow! :D

And a promise is a promise, so the "How to..." section...

Ok, so first the most difficult one…

How to do a 1/6 hypodermic needle :

DSC01223.jpg

You need:

A: A ballpoint pen (empty if possible)
B: A transparent twisty from a 1/6 figure
C: A pin
D: A lighter
E: Nail clippers
F: A thin brush (at least 0)
G: A pen vise
H: A file
I: Yellow stainglass paint
J: A plastic attachment from a model kit (white is preferred)
K: Super glu
L: A piece of transparent plastic from a 1/6 figure tray
M: X-acto-knife

1) Remove the cartridge from the ballpoint
2) Cut an empty 1,5 cm section tube from that cartridge and keep it
3) Take the twisty and cut a 0,5 cm section. Slid the plastic section of the wire and discard the wire
4) Slid that piece of plastic on the pin
5) Cut the head of the pin off
6) Take the model kit attachment and cut a section about 1,8 cm long
7) Ignite the tip of that section with a lighter
8) Press the burning section on a flat surface (like glass) to make a nail-shaped plastic rod
9) File it so that it fits into the section of ballpoint cartridge
10) Take that piece of transparent plastic tray and make a hole with the pen vise, then cut a square shape around that hole
11) Glue that plastic square to the cartridge section
12) Insert the nail-shaped plastic rod inside and glue it
13) Paint the inside of the cartridge with yellow stainglass paint
14) Insert the pin and glue
15) There you have your hypodermic needle! :D

How to do a 1/6 laminated card for Dexter:

ba77_1.jpg

A) Take some polymer clay (Sculpey, Fimo, whatever…)
B) Make a roll with it
C) Flatten it
D) Take the actual picture of Dex’s laminate. Scale it on your computer (1 cm wide) and print it on glossy photo paper. Cut it out
E) Press the scaled card on the clay to make an indentation (alternatively, you can cut around the scaled card and remove the square of clay, it’s even easier that way!)
F) Remove the scaled card. You now have it’s imprint on the clay
G) Cut the clay in a rectangular shape (but make the angles soft as on the actual card!)
H) Fold in two
I) Bake
J) Once it is baked and cold, glue the scaled card in place
K) Paint the border and back black with glossy black acrylic paint
L) With a pen vise, drill two holes at the top
M) Insert a chain in these holes and glue it! It’s done! :D
