I'd probably buy this if they had gone with that base. It still would've held the illusion of it actually hovering not sitting on a poll

What they went with is no harm to the item but it would have been a little cooler with the other base.

Definitely much cooler, but probably would have increased the price even more not to mention the increased likelihood of breakage during shipping.
