Something really peculiar I found on the DX15 right hands. I took the wrap off the other day because it's one of the main reasons I use DX06 hands instead, and under the cloth, there is sculpted wrap, like they originally sculpted the hands to paint it on and switched to fabric later, quite odd.
I believe they did that for the reason you said but also maybe for something to glue the fabric to so it keeps it's shape.

Like I said, peculiar. I was just thinking I could take it off and maybe paint over the tats on his fingers and have a POTC 1-4 looking hand, but the wrap textures make it look a bit strange. I might be able to use them in photos with angles and lighting.

Are those sculpted straps or are the hands just flattened and untextured so the fabric can better wrap the hands?

Just found a post on FB that HT didn't bother painting the hands completely. The right hands don't have the brown straps painted on the fingers. The DX15 has them painted and also the left hands are missing the black smudge he has on the bottom front near the thumb. Not only is the sword not metal or even that the hat is oversized and the vest buttons not being real. This is another huge issue. SmhView attachment 756322
Definitely sucks, but this was already previously noted in the thread back when the figure was released in HK. The prototype didn’t have the straps painted between the fingers nor the black dot on left hands. Sure, it would’ve been nice had they went ahead and did it, but can’t really complain about it or expect it when it wasn’t like that on the proto either unfortunately

I noticed this as well as I had the same idea of wanting to use these better scaled and sculpted hands for earlier versions of Jack. I figured it was sculpted as more of a guide so that it would be applied correctly at the factory rather than it originally being meant to be painted. Especially considering the proto had the fabric wrap as well.

It's truly a shame they are half-assed the work and details on this release when they are trying to push for more improvements and effort just to spite the competition. They should have fully painted the straps but this company will never really care. Can probably just replace the hands.
