What is the white stuff inside the head?
Polyurethane foam quite likely. It doesn't even look particularly high density. The foam I use in casting wouldn't rip apart, it sets as hard as a resin.

I'm a little surprised the rest of the cast is so thin but I guess I shouldn't be.

Nothing to see here. Lol! This is gonna be a repaint for someone.

What!? UPS guy only handed over one box.

Crisis averted. The second box has a separate tracking # and has been delayed.

Ive decided to keep mine. It kinda grows on you like some sick rash. Ive displayed it in a besta cabinet next to my 1/5 scale wolf so from a distance its not to bad. I sure hope sideshow tries to redeem them selves with the lsb elder or is that wishful thinking?????

lol....so true..at least I keep telling myself that. hahaha

Whatever it is - according to Sideshow - it's FULLY white (like their inner "art" boxes).

.

hahahahahah :hi5:

going to see what my one looks like alongside the other 4 I have in bestas and go from there, probably touch paint work up if I keep and that's if it's not damaged off course, I also really wanted them to do the elder as had it pre ordered first time around but after this fiasco i'm not sure they will continue with the line which is a shame for people like me that don't really have the room for lots of statues etc and have collected the others in the series

sorry to be completely blunt, but it's collectors such as yourself that helps keep them in business. It's one of the worst SS products I've ever seen in my life, and you want them to continue the line?.....thinking things will be better as they inevitably would raise the price again, c'mon man.

Ok, so I am fully aware that this is not the Star Wars section but I had to post this here. The Death Trooper Specialist PF's are shipping, and it turns out the base is made out of PVC. The two people I've seen post in-hand reviews on facebook both say the base looks like shiny plastic. But what makes me laugh is how Sideshow keeps repeating their line about how they use plastic because it captures more detail. LOOK AT THAT BASE!!! I don't think it could be ANY less detailed. I have come to the conclusion that the reason Sideshow is using PVC and vinyl on their statues is......

BECAUSE SIDESHOW.

"my Death Trooper Specialist. Exclusive Weapon is bent/crooked. Will report this. Base looks like PVC...
but the Statue is very cool. You will need an instruction... many bags and little pieces to install... i needed the help of the SSC Homepage and the pictures of the prototype"

In the comments he was asked if the base looked shiny in person and he replied yes. The figure is not PVC and he said it looks great.

Regardless of any possible advantages the main one for sideshow when using plastic will be saving costs.

I wouldn't except that either, that base doesn't look any better or more detailed than any of the Koto pieces. And yet, people will pay for it.

I will use SSC to order pieces from other companies but I will not purchase their overpriced garbage.

And on another note how long till that Death Troopers forward stance warps the hole in the plastic base where the pegs are inserted and he starts to lean forward??

The details in that base are not crisp at all. Poly looks much better IMO. It's like they don't think we have eyes to see with. :dunno
