^^^^ agree with the two folks above regarding the sharpie, works great for small chips like this.

Great. Thanks for the advice. As much as I would like to repaint it, I don't have the skills for that. I will try the sharpie. It's actually really small in person, so I think it will be much less noticeable.

I've used Sharpie as touch up a lot. One piece of advice is dab the ink on a soft cloth like a electronics chamois and wipe it across the spot. If it's too deep, dab it with the Sharpie and then quickly rub it lightly with the cloth. It'll give a nice uniform coverage. If it's sloppy, a little dab of hand sanitizer to rub it off and try again works wonders. It won't harm the paint beneath.

I really love this statue, but there is a small chip on the front of his shorts. It's pretty small, but really noticeable because of the color. How easy would this be to repair for someone who knew what they were doing? SS offered a credit of $55 to keep it, but since it's on the front of the statue, I'm not sure whether it's a good idea, and I should exchange it instead.

I would either exchange or return it. That would bother me, TBH. And I'm not handy enough to repair it. I think the sharpie idea is a bad idea.

Sideshow finally got out my replacement wolverine and base but when i opened up the brown shipper there was no artbox just the styrofoam box:slap

Oh boy that's disappointing. But more importantly how was the statue replacement? I'm sure they can find and send the box :)

The replacement seems fine first glance gonna peep it some more when I get home. I hope they find that box,not even sure how they would forget that. Do the boxes come with the edition number as well?

OCD $55 is amazing.

Wow. That sucks. At least you got a good statue though. Def message them ASAP for that box.

That Art box is the 1 thing you can fight for cause that is part of the collectible containing the edition number. The shipper they won't help anybody with that, cause that is not part of the collectible according to them. But in your case, you already have the shipper box.

Not only that, part of the overall cost of the figure would include the art box.

Boxes are not part of the collectible; who displays their boxes next to the statue? We all wish we could just throw them out and free up many cubic feet of space. That is my dream. How happy we would be if we could toss em.

Have you ever bought anything NEW without the packaging? Are you serious? The shipper box is 1 thing, but you gotta get the Art Box or give the guy some of his $480 back.

Statues don't have moving parts you can't see that could possibly be broken like cars, computers, watches etc. which lose half their value as soon as you open them for that reason. With a statue, if inspected and not damaged, why would one care if it's with the box?

btw - nearly everyone who says "opened only for inspection" is lying.

I wish I could fold the boxes u p to save storage space. The styrofoam on the other hand, arrrrgh. Haha

Believe it or not, you are paying for all of the packaging. It's comes with the figure. If it came with each part baged separately in a plain brown box with packing "peanuts" you'd stil be paying, at a much lower cost compared the the styro and art box. Unless you're trying to keep it for the rest of your life, trying to sell off a figure WITHOUT the artbox would be more difficult and probably at more of a loss to you.

:goodpost: Absolutely, good points.

I think this is the main thing. These aren't vinyl blind-box bobblehead trinkets here where nobody cares about packaging. These are high quality art pieces meant for serious collectors who spend hundreds to thousands of dollars buying these pieces. If seemingly half the community will pass on buying a used figure or statue because it doesn't have the brown shipper, you're definitely going to take a hefty hit on resale-ability and value without the art box.

Dude I think your way off base. Maybe you havent been collecting very long, but the art box like many boxes for collectibles is HUGE to the entire collectible. Look at boxes that sell by themselves for over $50. EVEN the condition of the art box matters.

And btw - when I say its only opened for inspection you damn well better believe it. You can tell, believe me, if you've been in the game long enough. Not everyone is out to screw people over.
