I can see a bit of a smiling snarl on his face. Like he just thrashed 20 ninjas and is ready for more on the other side of the bridge.

Come get some, bub!

This is the best photo of it. He will be the bookend of my display.

Please, if it had the same Head Sculpt as the Koto, Which is basically a rip off of the LSF, people would then say it's just a Rip off of the Koto/LSF, in which case they'd be saying why buy it when you can buy either of those which has the same head.

Shame on the sculptor for trying something a bit different, for shame. :lol

No harm in trying something different for one head, but two? You're asking for trouble. Funnily enough, I personally don't really like the XM head either, but not as much as this.

I totally get the screaming face, it's just not worked here.

Anyway, time for me to exit. I won't be buying this, I'll keep my eye's out for the next nice custom.

Good luck to those who like it, hopefully it comes out good.

I was bored, already had Photoshop up, and wanted to test out my photo retouching /painting skills. Changed the shape of the face, added depth to the mouth, tried to remove overbite, thickened the eyebrows, added hair to the chops to contour the face, and completely redid the nose. This is more in line with what I would've liked to have seen, I guess. The masked sculpt is pretty decent. Oh well. :dunno

I think all of your changes look phenomenal. Except for the lip. I think your lip edit looks less realistic than the original. But I like the smaller forehead wider cheekbones and chops.

Yeah, that was definitely the most difficult part. The depth that would normally be there on a person just isn't there because of the nature of sculpting and casting, so I had to improvise! Also, some of those lines that are formed around the top lip just straight up don't exist on people when their mouths are opened that wide (you can see a nice illustration of this in your avatar gif, funnily enough). Also, I found that his tongue is in kind of an odd position - if you're screaming / breathing hard etc with your mouth wide, your tongue is tucked behind your bottom teeth, or at least mine is, maybe I'm weird. Maybe he's using his heightened senses?

If you tense up/flex your neck, my tongue floats in my mouth. But yeah. I definitely understand people's complaint. But I personally like it because he looks more animalistic. This is a picture of a wolverine (animal) snarling, and the more I look at this statue the more it reminds me of this.

I guess it looks more normal on an animal than an actual person hahaha

Is this a better choice over the XM Wolverine?
XM wolvie gonna cost you 3 times as much and if you want a brown wolverine in 1/4 scale ss is your only choice. If you got the money and don't care about the color of the costume go for the xm. I've always been a brown costume fan and I don't mind the face sculpts.

Agree. It's all about you preference nocturmac. If you got the money, and like the xm get it, it's amazing. If you don't want to invest that much money, this sideshow statue is shaping up to be a more than worthy piece. Only time will tell, but it comes down to preference brother.

I'd get them all if I could.

XM Wolverine is superior than this. Careful look at the recent pics on XM Wolverine thread reveal even painted hair on his arm. And the sentinel base is awesome. If this is available in the US, Mr. Green would buy. Unfortunately, they haven't done a proper Hulk yet.

I think its why I like this one so much. He's not only raging, he's enjoying it. Sort of the same feeling as when Bixby turned into the Hulk- you just knew, oh boy, now they've done it!

...also thought it was interesting that Wolverine wasn't showing hair on his arms till the brown costume design. Somebody said that on his earlier uniforms the arms weren't actually considered bare but flesh colored. Knowing that, hairless arms don't bother me so much.

The expression on the statue reminds me a lot of the firing squad scene in Xmen Origins.

XM Wolverine has a lot going for it with a fantastic paint app but I wasn't blown away by it. Possibly the only character to make brown look cool, SS has more ferocity showing (for me anyways) and I like the stance better. The ex is actually pretty good too, I just hope it turns out like the proto.

Xm wolvie BEFORE it was sold it out cost me $760 total, with shipping. Now, yes its doubled since then, but just wanted to clarify the pricing as theres always seemingly been a misconception about the cost of these pieces. However as myself and other said if you took this piece and incorporate cost of a possible repaint and the cost of a custom head it would far outweigh whatever XM charges. This is of course if youre unhappy with the current headsculpts..if you like them, more power to u!

This price is clearly due to a connection you have with someone though right? I have contacted multiple sellers over there and hadn't gotten a quote for cheaper than $900. And that was on cap shipped before he sold out. Cap was cheaper.

And now, contacting people for daredevil, it seems many of the secondary sellers overseas are pre sold out. It's crazy. Hahaha.

Paying around $720 delivered for XM Wolvie from SimplyToys. Brown PF Exclusive would cost me 520$ shipped + 27% VATs + 12$ FedEx fee, which nets to roughly $670. As usual, things are pretty relative. If this had even just ONE good head sculpt, I would have jumped on it.
