Months, years, it shouldn't matter. It's not supposed to topple over at any point in its lifespan. That's a design flaw. I boxed mine up after putting it together to check for flaws so if it happens to me it'll be down the road.

If I were this guy I would ask for a refund/replacement no matter what, not taking no for an answer at all. That's $2000. If they refuse, hello attorney. It's not the consumer's fault at all in this case...it would be like renting this Wolverine for months at $2000.

I 100% agree with you that SSC SHOULD help this guy out, but what they should do and what they will do could be totally different things.

Definitely a design flaw or manufacturer defect.
Yeah, hopefully SS do the right thing.

There's been more than one example of this happening? :horror
I wouldn't be able to sleep and would push for my money back if I had this.

At least 6 examples from what I could gather from the string on FB, but that means there are probably more. If I had this and I loved it I woud be reenforcing that peg with 3-5 pig metal spikes, and filling the leg with resin or something to give it some strength. If I had it and didn't love it, well SSC would be getting an email.

That really blows about the cheapness of the statue. Not just for this one, but a lot of others I've seen posted with problems. But guys I'm sorry...I laughed so hard at the timeline of those pics. He was leaning over in the first two. The next one he was gone off the base. Then the very next one was just large pieces all over the floor. It was too funny!

I can safely say that I'm also very relieved I never committed to this.

yeah, not really funny at all, I get it what your saying....., but damn, that really really sucks. ssc better take care of him. wow. thanks Roberto for all the tips. I sent in pics but they said it looked fine, got some credit for some flaws on my superman PF though....I will dust early and often! thanks man!! How can we get someone to do a custom steel peg for wolvie?!!! :)

No worries buddy and glad you got a resolve on your Supes PF :clap what was wrong with it by the way? I've got mine coming next week and am hoping they keep up the high standard of QC that I've seen from the majority of inhand pics so far...

Man, I live in CA, earthquake country, I'm gonna glue wolvie down with super cement! :(

Nothing too bad, just some minor stuff that I thought I would send in to ask an opinion...I wasn't looking for any credit....Some glue residue in the S symbol, glue on the base?, minor fabric stuff on knee....wasn't sure how to remove....maybe alcohol?

I posted some initial pics here...

YOU are going to love it. Its a very visually striking piece, if you dig alex ross you will love it! ICONIC.

I'm gonna have to spend some time looking at your display thread for some ideas.. my stuff is just all over the place. haha.

Yea, I can't wait! Your pics just make the wait even harder :lol he'll be my part 2 of 3 of the Trinity display with only Wonder Woman left to arrive with Batman already in hand :yess:

Seems like a job for house insurance if mine was unlucky enough to have issues. Just had a look at the policy and it's covered. But as it is just sitting straight as a die and looking magnificent. Going to sleep now ;)

The wolverine lsf was already overpriced, now it has leaning issues? That's weird that this even has these issues. The Wolf pred lsf has a pretty thick bar running all the way up his leg, not sure why this didn't have something similar, but I suppose the issue is just with the peg, not the weight distribution of the statue itself?

This is why I won't ever purchase one statue worth that much. But if a shelf 5 of my statues worth 2000$ gave out for what ever reason, and they all fell and broke....

I'd be FURIOUS....

The Wolf Pred floats on a high base on one foot so undoubtedly needs it? However it may reveal the underlying problem to this issue. If you have one of the vast majority of the wolverine LSFs, like mine, where the peg fits properly (without gaping) and the rear right foot is NOT floating above the base lacking contact (therefore lacking correct, as designed, weight support and distribution) you will have a large right lateral force on an unsupported peg....CRACK!

So although metal pegs would have helped, I would love to know how many had the original levitating rear foot problem, how many were covered by house insurance and how many of these customers were wellsupported by SS (for various reasons and theories lol). IMO if you buy or own this piece get a replacement if you have the known base issue (floating right foot). I suspect SS would send a replacement base first but replacement of the lower torso might be needed.

Re custom peg insertion, I would be cautious if the leg is hollow, a drill and metal insertion into something that is hollow could lead to the damage you wish to avoid WITH no house insurance back up in the event of collector customisation disaster ;)

I returned mine bc there was a gap, just couldn't stand looking at it and knowing it's there. But it could lead to crack :panic:

will certainly be rechecking mine once I get it out the box again...although I'm pretty certain that foot was totally flush to the base with no lean. Still, despite this being a pretty disastrous experience for the owner, I'm glad his story was told so that us owners could be made aware of what could actually happen in the future and what areas to look out for...

HI All,
A first post for me as I am a relatively new member. Based in Australia. I purchased the Wolverine LSF on preorder and it arrived in January. Was extremely pleased with the statue and overall quality of the paint, cloth and presence of the statue. All was going well and the statue did not suffer from the 'floating foot' problem. However, I noticed when inserting the right arm (the arm that is down) that the magnetic force was really quite weak compared to the other. Didn't worry about it too much and it held - for a while. Later that night - BANG - the left arm drops down damaging my table and shattering the claws into lots of little pieces. Turns out that there was likely a manufacturing fault in the torso socket and there was not a magnet there at all (I tested it with another smaller magent and no attraction/repulsion). The arm must have been held in by friction for a while.

I contacted Sideshow and they were quite good re replacement issues. Obviously being in Australia is a real problem when it comes to returns etc, but they were very prompt and supportive and offered to send me a new arm. As you will all know, the sockets and joints on these pieces are all a little different, so fearing that the replacement arm would not fit the original torso, I also asked for a replacement torso that matched the new arm just in case. It all arrived safe and sound and in prefect condition but my worst fears were realised - the new arm did not match the torso, but worse still, the replacement torso I got did not fit the base and the magentic attraction with the head was zero! Clearly, the sockets and joint on these LSFs are very unique to each piece. So all in all, great customer service on the problems I faced, and just waiting for a replacement. A real shame such a little issue led to big delays in enjoying this statue. I wish they could have just sent some new claws out so I could have inserted them into the damaged arm and just dremel a magnet into the torso. It's due to arrive in July so I just hope everything is ok with it. Thought I'd share this problem I had with you guys as a first post and I'll update when I get my replacement.

glad to hear SS is taking care of you. I was close to getting this myself, but all the problems made me pass.

Yikes. I was sincerely hoping to own this again at some point, but some of what I'm seeing and reading is giving me serious pause now.

Judsim's experience bears out what I was told by William or Daniel in that they wouldn't allow me to keep my old one and order a new one and then replace the piece that had issues on my own. The phrase they used was "we can't allow you to Frankenstein the pieces because they won't necessarily fit together properly" which I silently dismissed as BS. But I see now that it isn't. Seems bizarre that there would be so much disparity between two copies of the same piece, but there is.

Also- the one I had had a 'floating' left foot. Visually it had me concerned, but when I went to disassemble it to ship it back, that lower body was set on the base tight. That SOB took some major work to get off the base. It wasn't going anywhere and wasn't loose in the least. But I wonder if that makes a difference in the long run? In some of the pics I took it does look like it is leaning unnaturally, but I thought that might just be the angle and quirks of the depth of field in the photo.

That rear foot I am pretty sure needs to be in contact to support and distribute the weight. Otherwise you are placing all that weight on the one peg.
