Did it feel loose prior to it falling? I've compared pictures of mine from when it first arrived, to now, and I notice mine is leaning also! It feels pretty solid, but after seeing yours, i'm worried it's going to also take a fall! Is there anyway to fix this before it happens! I'm Bummed that such an expensive statue is going to come crashing down!

winghead I have heard of a couple of these problems. I would take it off the base if it has started to lean badly. Now, there was also a guy who was talking on FB awhile back about how he had reinforced a few of the Wolverines, and how he had repaired a few. I will see if I can find the post, but if memory serves me correctly he drilled out a hole all of the way through the foot peg and into the mostly hollow leg. He made the hole big enough to put a large metal rod directly into the leg. Before he put the rod in he filled statue with some resin so that when he put it back upright the resin would harden around the rod to hold the whole statue in place. Now I will see if I can find that post again, but I believe that was the process.

Thanks Spidey976, Sad that I can't display a $2,000.00 statue without worrying that's it's going to fall over! I did remove the head and upper body for now! I contacted Sideshow, but, since I purchased it through BBTS, They said there was nothing they could do! So, I've sent an e mail to BBTS, asking for any suggestions! I did see an earlier post on the what you mention, guess I'm going to have to try and do something similar! As for my statue, it feels pretty solid, with no wiggle in it, but the leaning is pretty obvious!

Hi Winghead - my Wolve did not feel loose prior to it falling - however i did not go to my other house for around 6 days so not sure what actually happened just before it fell - from below picture you could see that foot peg just broke due to gravity



I also did not buy direct from SS - i bought it at a local toy store in Thailand - i wrote the emails to SS myself while it was still leaning and SS just asked my local toy shop whether i actually bought from them - then SS send me a replacement about 2-3 months later - i had to pay for shipping + tax

If your not afraid of this piece toppling over on you one day, I'd say go for it. I personally wouldn't spend 2K on a piece with as many issues as this one.

Yea the leaning is my biggest concern :/ wish SS would have made it more stable.

Everything is flawed in some form or another, especially in the hand-painted collectible world.

I'm willing to bet I could point out a "flaw" in every piece that comes off of the XM, Sideshow, Prime 1, etc. assembly line.

Obviously, some flaws are worse than others, especially those like design flaws, but you can't generalize like that because it doesn't work like that.

so probably wont bother much abt paint flaws on the house...but if u heard and knw that the builder built houses that toppled...u still want to source for for houses of the same builder?

As someone that had to deal with arms falling off of LSF Doom and getting smashed into pieces on the floor after spending X amount of dollars to get the damn thing into Canada I can understand both sides of the argument. I did read about potential magnet issues on Doom but the thing just looked way too good in my eyes not to try and obtain so I went for it knowing the magnet could be an issue (and turned into an issue). Luckily I got a replacement arm and the thing is still standing (although I am very cautious around it). And SSC has been known over the years for a multitude of issues and QC problems (despite increase in prices) and yet they're still going strong and people keep buying.

I think it's up to the collector whether they love the piece that much to take a chance as was the case for me with Doom (love the character and the detail / size of this thing may not come up again vs a character like Batman which has like 100 statues of that character released per year).

Personally I like Wolverine and the LSF but given the size (I get he's crouching and short in general) didn't seem worth it for the price. And now knowing the leaning issue (the whole damn things falls apart let alone just an arm) that's a huge enough problem to stay away from this but again everyone has their own preference.

This was just featured on AMC's "Comic Book Men," they listed it as a 2007 piece, so that was a mistake and they tried to offer $2100 for it, saying they'd only make about $2500 on the sale. What was the original MSRP on this? The guy wanted $3000.
