First off, this is not a Marvel vs. DC thread :chew

...just curious to know who would win in a fight :D

Wolverine with his animal instinct and agility?

or...

Batman with his ninja skills and intelligence?

**To make this a bit more exciting, I will put Wolverine and Batman in specific environemt:

1. Gotham .........who would win?

:rock :rock :rock

*I know Wolverine has a healing factor, but let us look beyond that shall we* :)

and plus... batman or his brother I should say totally kicks wolverine's ass in the prestige... HANDS DOWN!!!

haha for those who have seen it.

Wolverine.

Both he and Batman have ninja skills, Wolverine has the edge in pure physical skills and then add in his mutant powers.

Alright guys, WHO WOULD WIN IF WOLVERINE AND BATMAN ARE IN GOTHAM?????

Batman must be letting himself go; for a guy that usually gets into fights with Superman, Wolverine would be like 2-3 steps down =/

Depends.

Batman knows the city, but Wolvie still has the animal instincts. Plus healing factor and adamantium claws aswell as Samurai skills. Sorry, Bats is gonna bite it.

EDIT: Where does Batman figure Supes? DC needs to tone it down on their characters. Atleast Marvel's heroes admit they have weaknesses, DC is just a bunch of overpowered people IMHO.

Batman must be letting himself go; doesn't he usually get into fights with Superman? Wolverine would be like 2-3 steps down =/ Adamantium laced bones and adrenaline-fueled berserker rages are nice...but you still get hurt if you get kicked in the crotch or punched in the throat, which I assume Batman is more than capable of doing. You see Bats exercising and practicing all the time, while Logan is busy getting drunk...

And let's not forget about that utility belt...I swear, that mofo can fit a b52 bomber in that thing...

Wolverine: "Let's get it on!"
Batman: *pulls out a pellet from his belt and tosses it at Wolverine*
Wolverine: zzzzzzzzzz....
Batman: *chuckles and walks away*

guys....as noted on the bottom...let us look beyond the fast healing factor.

Let's concentrate on during they are fighting, not after they have fought. :)

thats just it, he can heal while he's fighting!!! however, while batman is searching through his utility belt for animal tranquilizers-- wolverine slices and dices. game over for batman!!!

Batman's a genius and would figure out to throw Wolvie in some pit of molten metal and kill him. Wolvie would have the advantage, but is too dumb next to the Bat.

Let's look at this logically, I know hard to do for two fictional characters, but let's try. I love both characters so I don't think character bias is an issue, even though I've been waiting 25 years for a DC/Marvel crossover of these two characters.

powers:
-Batman - none save ninjitsu training (ability to seemingly disappear into the shadows)

-Wolverine - mutant healing factor, admantium claws and coated bones, hightened animal senses (smell especially)

physical agility:
-Batman - above olympic level athlete, worlds most accomplished martial artist trained in most all fighting styles known to man, keen reflexes and dead aim (throwing batarangs and batropes while falling through the air)

-Wolverine - enhanced strength, accomplished martial artist, military training

intelligence:
- Batman - no nonsense natural leader, world most brilliant detective, expert chemist, insight into psychology and criminal justice, brilliant inventor

-Wolverine - good stratigist, tracker and assasin skills, natural but sometimes unwilling leader

gadgetry:
-Batman - Batman has his various arsenal of gadgets from the famed batmobile to the items carried in his utility belt. His natural ability to invent items ensures that if he doesn't have the item he needs to tackle an opponent, he has the means to escape. This is a stratigic plan to ensure the next time he faces the foe he will be prepaired.

-Wolverine - none so much relying mainly on his powers and fighting ability, occasionally using a weapon such as a sword

transportation:
-Batman - Batmobile, Batboat, Batplane, Batjet, Batcopter, Bat toilet seat, you name it this billionaire has it in a bat form

-Wolverine - Motorcycle, jeep, X-Jet

Mentality:
they're both crazy
-Batman - unstoppable fighter, won't give up unless unconsious and will sacrifice himself inorder to entice the opponent to thinking the fight is won

-Wolverine - pretty much the same

summary: Wolverine while having somewhat superior strength and being almost unstoppable due to his quick healing factor would edge out Batman in a strickly hand to hand combat situation, not because of skill but because of his healing ability. Every wound Batman would make would quickly heal, so he would eventually tire out. Alas Batman's superior intellegence would hint to this fact after seeing the first wound heal, and the tools of his trade mostly from his utility beft would come into play. Remember as we are dealing with a crossover, we have to assume that admantium would be somewhat attainable in both characters worlds, and Wayne Foundation would be a place that would be able to have access to it. As Martial artist Batman would have the edge, but due to Wolverine's sheer ferocity we'll just balance those out as even. For sheer fighting power Wolverine would win, but in a comic book match Batman would find some way either by invention of gadgets or his intellegence to subdue the canadian critter.

Anyway that's my take on it

apparently not the only ones take, I just found these from artist James Nguyen's site

Over the years Wolverine has learned to rely too heavily on his claws. Batman can fight against any weapon. As hard as it is for me as a Marvel fan to say.....Batman would win.

If we were talking Marvel Vs DC in general, I prefer Marvel but I still think that Batman would win.

Like others have said Batman's got a great mind and can really think on his feet, plus he's got all those utility belt gadgets. We're talking about a guy who can go toe to toe with Superman and still come out on top and Supes is easily more powerful than Wolverine, so is Bane, another villain with more brawn than Bats.

Yet Bane still comes out the loser.

I like Wolverine and all, but he ain't the smartest guy in the Marvel U and I'm pretty sure Batman would outwit him in a fight.

Without the healing factor, I gotta go Batman in a close one. He's just got too many toys at his disposal.

Is this even a serious question? Wolverine would own Batman in about a second in a half. Wolverine doesn't play. Batman is just a spoiled B!tch with toys.

As said by others, Bats would find a way to win. He has counter measures for just about anything. He thinks quick on his feet and adapts to most situations.

As cool as we all think Wolverine is, his popularity has more to do with his attitude/healing factor than with his skill. It's not until later that they introduced the fact that he had trained in Japan. Now with the current Origins monthly they are trying to add more depth into his character.

Batman has been training his whole life. Both mentally and physically. He is one of the smartest guys in the DC Universe. I like to think that gives you the ultimate edge at the end.

Batman would notice how good his animal instincts are... by looking at wolverine's ear twitch each time batman moves his feet... he'd turn on the super sonar device, giving wolverine a massive headache and bomb the **** out of him... :lol
