Don't know if this justifies it's own thread, but I gotta share, too excited not to. It will soon blend into the page 4+ threads of nothingness...

So I've been eyeing the Wolverine/Sabertooth vs. dio for quite awhile now. dont really care about the Ex vs. regular, just wanted either. So this just finished and I picked it up. Normally anything over $400 is out of my price range, but I had good reason to justify. It sold for $444.99 with shipping of $39.94, bringing total to $484.94. That seems a little high for the non-ex version, BUT I had a paypal coupon (for being a fine upstanding Ebay flipper) good for 10% off up to $100 savings (i.e. $500 max price gets you $100 off), valid on any item that uses paypal as payment. So I was able to subtract another $96.99 off, making my total $388 shipped. Not too bad for getting in late to the hobby. I had to act. Coupon was valid through 12/18, and there weren't too many ~$500 opportunities to take maximum advantage of.

The only thing that concerns me is the spotty feedback of the seller, but it's paypal so I should be protected. And he seems to have an overall good record, just more complaints then I prefer.

Cheers. :duff God, I'm a SS junkie, just can't say no.

congrats on your score. i hope your transaction goes well. i always liked this dio, even better than x vs. sent.

One of the most iconic and dynamic pose for a dio. Congrats on your score

Congrats! I got my EX version off ebay for a great price 2 months ago. I wish I had the code. Would have been a steal then. :chew

Not to bring you down but I think your worry is justified. Did you ask what condition the Dio was in because I didn't see any mention of that.

I hope it comes in great shape though, congrats! :chew

I had one a while ago so be careful when pulling it out of the box because it's very fragile. There are sharp points sticking out of a variety of places.

Congrats! :rock

What's the coupon code?

It was from Paypal given to Ebay members, I'm assuming to high activity (selling all my earlier toys). It was was something like "Choliday...". There were major restrictions. Can't find it on this PC, it probably disappeared from "my Ebay" due to it being used, but I saved a screen shot on my laptop, I'll PM it to you if I can find it again, but I don't want to get blacklisted for abuse. Restrictions were to the effect of "applicable only for user who recieved this message and will not be honored for other users, payment must be via paypal..." etc. Expires on 12/18.

Shoot, as much as Ebay and Paypal take on listing/payment fees, I figured they owe me. You can pretty much expect a 10-15% reduction in profit after listing fees, final valuation fees, and paypal fees have been consumed. Wish I owned a little of their stock.

Yeah, the feedback he had was a little less than par, but didn't seem like he was shady, just poor communication. I've used paypal before, and had to file 1 or 2 claims for failure to disclose (out of hundreds), and paypal usually sides with buyer, when justification is provided. At most, you loose shipping.

This is what sold me, per sellers own description, " If for any reason you receive the wrong item or defective/damaged item, you can send it back and we will ship the correct item. Damaged items do not include “Not Mint” packaging. We must be notified within 5 days if you receive an incorrect product. Depending on the value of the item, we may not send a replacement until the original item is sent back to us.

· If you receive a damaged package (shipping carton) due to the shipping carrier, we will file a claim with the carrier and send a replacement (or issue a refund if we are sold out of the item). Please keep the original shipping box as UPS may want to pick it up."

So I'm not too worried.

Wow, just had the strangest feeling of Deja Vu.

I will congrats you the moment I see some pictures.

For now... :banana

Btw. It is still available so I hope someone snatches it up soon or I might just have to keep it.

I wanted to follow through with some awesome pics, but still haven't received this item, 1.5 months later.

Just opened a paypal dispute, another few days and I think my buyer protection would have lapsed. How long is paypal protection for after an auction date, 2 months, or 3 months.

I guess the poor feedback was justified.

screw paypal, file a claim with your credit card company.....assuming that you paid with a credit card....

Yeah, about that, I still need to work on getting PP tied to my CC. currently tied to my debit. Helps me keep this addiction in check so I don't spend like crazy, but lacking the CC protection.

I shall have to remedy that in the near future.

I got screwed buying something off ebay and paypal wouldn't refund me even though they knew it wasn't my fault. I was heated so I called my American Express credit card. I complained for 5 minutes and never talked to Amex again. They took care of everything just like their commercial! always pay with a credit card cuz paypal is BS!! Hope it works out for u bro

Amex is the best in terms of online protection IMO. worked for me everytime, no questions asked and didnt have to do anything more than talk to the rep for a few minutes at most.

I hope you get looked after. Nobody deserves this.

Keep us updated as I am sure you will.
