I know this isnt Marvel, but it's along the same lines (comics).

I was wondering if anyone here has any in-hand pictures of the Women of the DC Universe Busts? All Ive ever seen are the promo pics, but I was wondering how the quality of these are.

There pretty nice, i had the set up to powergirl.... Im selling the whole set off in pieces though because ive decided not to collect busts. They are getting extremely hard to find. Ones like Hawkgirl and cat women are in the 80-120.00 range now if you gonna buy some do it NOW.. because there only going to go up as the series gets more popluar

are you selling any? I think I want to get into this line.

Seen Harley and Ivy in person Nash and they were both pretty high quality pieces, just wish DCD would make more mini busts.

I'd be down for a Batman Rogues line or a JLA line based on the artwork in Justice, but alas they keep churning out crap instead.

These minis are pretty good though.

cool. Ive been wanting the supergirl one since it went on preorder but never got around to it. now the new batgirl one looks pretty good too.

There are pics of them all over ebay...but you already know that.

I guess you don't know what "in-hand" pics mean?

what's with the high and mighty attitude these days?

They are amazing pieces! Harley Quinn is the best of the bunch. Quality is pretty close on par to SideShow pieces. I need a couple more for my collection.

I have them all and love them even though they're tiny. The paint on some of mine isn't fantastic, but you have to look really close to tell.

Unfortunately the last one that Adam Hughes designed will be the upcoming Black Canary. But rumor is that DCD will continue the line using Terry Dodson designs.

Dave how's the paint on supergirl and powergirl?

That kind of sucks that Adam is done with the line :(

I think they are mostly very nicely done. But as Dave mentioned, the paint on some is less than steller. I haven't seen a well painted Supergirl, a combination of the paint design and the actual execution. Sad because it's a wonderful sculpt.
On the other hand, Hawkgirl, Harley Quinn and Catwoman are nearly perfect both in AH's great concept as well as the sculpting and final production.
From Wonder Woman to Zatanna this has been one of the most interesting series of this kind done. Adam Hughes concepts are going to be missed. The clever little vignette that he's created with the "surprise" Hawkgirl has behind her back, Catwoman placing her loot in a safe place, or Supergirl's admonition to keep her secret are just wonderful. I wish on Zatanna they'ed managed to get the rabbit on to the base as it was in the AH drawing. It would have made the bust more playful. But it's still very nice.
Nothing against Terry Dodson, but I'd rather see the series end When AH stops doing the concept drawings. Start a new series for Dodson, maybe mini-statues or something.

I heard the Supergirl bust suffers from awful paint application. I even saw pictures from a fellow collector on the TNI forums. All I can say is if the rest of them look like that one, DC Direct should do a product recall. At 45 US they aren't cheap for tiny lil' pieces of resin.

Now as for the others, I can personally say that my Harley Quinn's paints apps were spot on. Obviously quality control was on things that day.

posion ivy bust is a very crappy paint app. Super girl was ok... the problem with these they are rasing in value, fast because theres a series. also early version of the busts we done in volumes of 2000-3500 the new busts are going have a 6000 production... that leaves 2500 people hunting for the older busts...

I have them all except the latest, Zatanna. First of all, they are expensive at full retail (which is how I used to buy them, thinking the LCS might have better paint ops). I buy them online or on ebay now.

As mentioned, the paint ops can be quite variable. Not horrible and disfiguring but diappointing at times. HAving said that though, I've been lucky. My Wonder woman is good, but Poison is excellent and certainly not the horror story that some have outlined. I was worried about Supergirl also, but mine is great. The whole pose and playfulness of that bust is great.

Only recently, I've been disappointed by the Powergirl. I have two of them, both of them exhibit disappointing paint ops. I might buy another one down the road sometime.

So, I order mine online, usually since the ES are so high now, I can wait 3 months and get two at a time.

I'm really looking forward to Batgirl and Donna Troy. Will get them all though since I have the entire collection so far. Then, after that, I'll stop. I guess I'm a Hughes purist. Looking forward to displaying the busts with the SS Marvel women. (Some ono, brah)

I've lucked out on the paint, Supergirl is probably the worst with some slop of blue onto her white overshirt both at collar and cuffs. I think the weakest is the first two, Wonder Woman and Ivy, but from Catwoman on they are so much fun.

Batgirl isn't out yet.

Those look so nice together. I should have started collecting these from the very beginning. Oh well, I'll most likely add Batgirl to my collection of Women of the DC Universe Busts. Won't be a completist, but I never have been much of one.

I only have Wonder Woman and was surprised by how small they are. Definitely not worth more than $60.
I'm hoping to someday to have enough saved up to buy the harder ones to find such as Catwoman and Hawkgirl. Which of the two is the hardest to find?

Hawkgirl. Lower ES. On ebay it definately seems like 2 Catwoman's for every Hawkgirl. But Catwoman is better.
