Oh well at least the lasso cgi improved immensely in WW84 go watch how bad it is in the first.

The cgi WW fighting the nazi soldiers in WW1 is also pretty jerky bad.

84 had the right idea WW takes on the pacifist role as a lesson learned from WW1 to not perpetually feed the god of war but why a silly wish plot.

I am super bummed out about this movie not being as good as the first I was really looking forward to it I am not celebrating it being bad.

It's ok because that DC WW cartoon is better then most superhero movies.

Yeah oddly enough, the random long extended scene at the start which literally has nothing to do with the rest of the movie was maybe the best scene of the film. It wasn't believable but it was still charming in a silly way. It almost had more spectacle than the rest of the movie too lol.

What do you mean? That entire opening sequence played out the moral themes of the movie, how you can't win if you cheat (and all those "wishes" were actually "cheating") and how truth is the one thing that will save you.

Yup all connected I don't get how it was missed clear as day.

They made her that young to have her cheat and then let that message resonate but I think it would have worked just fine had they made her a teen.

It thematically relates yes - which I got - but in terms of story progression it adds nothing. It does not directly set the stage for the following scenes nor drive the plot forward. There isn't even any significant pay off for it. You do not need an extended scene disconnected from the rest of the story like that to showcase the theme. At the very least it could have been condensed much more to bring down the already long runtime.

I think it would have been better to just cut it entirely and rework say the mall scene to showcase the theme. You'd get the same effect of introducing the theme, while establishing a whole host of other things relevant to the plot.

But she needed to be given that embarrassing frustrating lesson at a young person.

It needed to be lengthy because it needed to show her doing very well because of her blood line advantage and determination but then having **** happen to her because yes **** happens and then her choosing the wrong path that cheating and lying is ok as long as you win.

That opening is the least problematic thing in that movie lol

The music is awesome and it has hot chicks a win.

I had some quick thoughts on some simple things to improve the movie:

- Cut out the first act. Both with the Amazons and the mall 'fight' scene.
- Have the movie start with a flashback to Ares telling her the truth about who she is, and Trevor dying.
- This above flashback is important, because subtlety it reveals Ares taught her one thing deep down, respect for the Truth. The Amazons hid what she was from her.
- Include some dialog at the end where she is telling Maxwell something very similar to him that Ares told her in the previous movie. What she learned from him, and that every coin has two sides. She then showes Maxwell his son and the pain he is causing, and the truth sets him free.

Just a few thoughts to tighten the movie up, and make it feel more connected with the first movie. And you can use Ares not as a CGI brute monster, but as the informative antagonist that taught her something.

It needed to be lengthy so PJ could bring back Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright.

Speaking of:

"As reported by the New York Times, Warner Bros. will begin accelerating its DC movie release schedule, with as many as four new movies hitting theaters each year (starting in 2022) and an additional two "riskier" movies debuting on HBO Max.
That's according to DC Films president Walter Hamada, who points to Batgirl and Static Shock as two properties with strong potential to become HBO Max exclusives. These movies will still have some connection to DC's live-action cinematic multiverse, but the shift to HBO Max would allow for smaller budgets or less traditional forms of storytelling."

If they can’t do better than this movie, don’t bother. They could’ve fixed the editing and CGI issues with the amount of time this thing sat on the shelf

RW was a hottie in this lol

Yes, I'd play gladiator with her any time lol. Speaking of which, Connie Nielsen's holding up better than her old co-star:

Why is that so hard for some filmmakers to understand? I don't know that I can think of a single movie from my youth that featured a young kid in a war type setting that I appreciated more than a teenage or adult hero. Even Atreyu in The Neverending Story was a bit of a stretch but he's freaking John Wick compared to Jake Lloyd, lol.

I stopped liking kid-centric movies at age 7. Kid spies and warriors were corny and the kid sitcoms were painfully unfunny. It just felt like they took action and humor formulas meant for adults and sterilized the heck out of them to pander to us.

Maybe it's because I managed to see some of the adult-oriented stuff by then and was aware of how much my content was being diluted. :lol

:lol

I love all the media bragging about how well this movie is doing... yet no one mentions the fact that almost no one has liked the product.

Draw factor vs Satisfaction factor = something the bean counters never consider

What happened here? I mean WW1 was fun, funny, heartwarming, moving at times, well balanced, serious when needed. The only misstep was the final battle scene but even that wasn’t unwatchable. Then I get Spider Wonder Woman in a mall. Somebody please tell me this gets better so I can finish watching it.
