I am very cautious towards this one, I hope Stone doesn't seek to be so revisionist as he often is.

I agree. I'm worried about the infiltration of conspiracy theories into this.

Well they finally laid the one to rest regarding the Pentagon yesterday, now wouldn't it be ironic if Charlie Sheen makes a cameo in this film!? :lol He has worked with Stone before.

Looks like it's going to be less about the actual events and more about the courage and friendship of the two leads - and the confusion and fear they feel.

I must say, though, that I think Nicolas Cage might have been a bad choice for this... as much as I like him in certain roles (Wild at Heart rocks, for instance), I couldn't look at him without nearly laughing in this trailer... that mustache!!! That fake NY accent!!!

We shall see I guess.... I'm sure it will be heart-wrenching.

that vid shows nothing really but a blur. They have much clearer footage of the plane hitting the Pentagon they wont release.
Also, that vid wasnt so "classified" as far as Im concerned. I saw it on my local news a few days after 9/11. A friend of mine who worked for the news station told me they had it and and were going to air it and sure enough, they did. And have seen it a few times since. That vid being called classified was joke.
lookin forward to this movie though.

A friend of mine insists that there were bombs inside the WTC.

You're friends with Charlie Sheen?!?

Those theorists confuse me. They remind me of the people who plug their ears when the hear the word "evolution". I suspect that they are secretely racist or at least elitist. The basis for the bomb theory seems to be a belief that planes simply couldn't inflict such damage, or at least not at the hands of Arabs. So they deduce that there must have been bombs that imploded the buildings.

But physics tells us that it was the heat of the fire that melted the steal. Fire from the planes. Planes that we have filmed evidance causing the fire. We even have evidance of UBL bragging about how his luitenants underestimated the damage of the planes.

So what is wrong with accepting that the planes caused the fire and the fire melted the steal? Is it a disbelief in how physics works or a disbelief that Arabs are capable of such a well executed attack?

I don't trust Stone to make a clearly thought out movie. Also the great thing about Flight 93 was the fact that it had no stars (sans Tv's Sledgehammer :monkey1 ) so you bought the believe ability more. We shall see though.

A friend of mine auditioned for this film and read the parts of the script. I gather it is more a tribute to the rescue workers than anything else. I don't think Stone has any kind of political agenda in mind with it.

As for conspiracy theories: Peruse the linked thread (from Fark.com) for pure enjoyment and to get yourself up-to-date with all of the myriad 9/11 conspiracies today!

Feeling left out because you don't know what the heck people are talking about when they claim a missile, not a plane, hit the Pentagon? Reeling from shock when someone claims that the WTC7 (not the twin towers, but another in the WTC complex) was purposely imploded by the government to forever dispose of some documents that were contained within it? Well, brush up on your 9/11 myths, facts and mysteries today! (Caution, VERY LONG):

(I love Fark because it provides pretty much every side of every story - from the craziest to the most realistic to the jokesters.)

I hope there is no agenda. It would be in poor taste at best, but this America and he has the right to make the film. So we'll see.
