These pics definitely make me lean towards getting one. I hope we get an Atreus too!

A question for people in general - what would be the best way to get upgraded weapons for Kratos? I'm not a fan of having him in the "basic weapon" look.
Haha never thought a simple phone pic would tempt people on having a figure🤣 definitely a great shelf presence on this one.
Best way is hire someone to make said upgraded weapons. Or search on the internet for the 3d models, print, and paint it. I think some are available. Considering the weapons had a lot of customization parts, you may not find the specific parts you need.

Yeah, I found someone on IG today that makes 1/6 scale accessories which I'm pleased about :)

I gotchu, there's nothing worse than when someone is gatekeepy with information. He goes by metal_jon on IG, but I have no idea how much all of the fully upgraded weapons would cost. I also find it hard to find images of fully upgraded weapons (the basic look, without any special pommels or so) on internet, with exception of the Leviathan Axe.

If someone gets an upgraded axe run going, I’d hop in.
That would be a best case scenario if we could get a run.

Oh it's Jonathan De Guzman, he does amazing work but his pricing is way off my budget unfortunately. He uses real metal and wood for his stuff and pistols or crossbows that he makes actually have a lot of moving parts, bullets, the crossbow shoots arrows etc.

Last time I messaged Jonathan for a pair of glasses for Otto he quoted me... *checks notes* 330 usd.

Oh **** me. I'll have to find someone else then. I'll hit you up if I find a name, you do the same!

Shadow Fergo does great metal work, not sure how detailed he could get compared to Jon though

Don’t really see the need for the upgraded version to be metal. You’re going to run into the issue of the figures hand and wrist pegs not being able to support the weight. Just find someone who’s willing to 3D print one. Might be able rip the model straight from the game files since it released on PC.

Oh no, I'd definitely prefer resin cast. My problem seems to be that I can't find anyone that doesn't do metal work. Looking through the game files would be great.

There's been countless rumors about remasters/remakes of the Greek saga coming on the 20th anniversary of the franchise. Could this be our first look at the updated character model for Kratos? Piece done by the amazing Raf Grassetti, Lead Art Director and Character Designer for the new GoW games, though he is currently working at Naughty Dog.

I had no idea Raf left Santa Monica and went to Naughty Dog. I take it they hired him for Intergalactic? I don't remember him having worked on TLOU2 and I'm pretty sure he was on Ragnarok so that must be a newer development.

As someone who actually didn't play the original God of War games, I would certainly welcome a remake. I understand it's a very different Kratos but his character arc in God of War 2018/Ragnarok is just so good. Love the story that was told and would love to experience the backstory.

Hopefully they come out in the fall. I'll be busy with Tony Hawk 3+4 over the summer in the ever limited gaming time I have these days, and I'm guessing Ghost of Yotei will be in late fall leading up to the holidays, so early fall would be an awesome time for them to drop.

Raf left Santa Monica in 2023 to go work with some of his peers at one of Netflix's gaming studios, but the studio was shut down so he joined Naughty Dog and is now working on Intergalactic. He did work on both new God of War games and maybe even worked on a remaster or remake depending on how long it's been in development.

I'd personally love remaster similar to Ninja Gaiden 2, a graphical overhaul to bring it up to modern standards but keeping the original gameplay and mechanics, a lot of the identity of the old games is the fast paced hack n' slash gameplay. Kratos' journey is only as impactful to me precisely because I played the original games all those years ago, even the PSP ones. His redemption in the new games is one of the biggest gambles I've ever seen a studio take with their lead character and franchise but man it really paid off, I would not be mad if his story takes a rest now, especially after Valhalla, and they could keep fans well fed with remasters or remakes.

I know a lot of gaming studios are sitting on their releases because of GTA VI, so if the remasters/remakes are true, they may come out before Fall, perhaps Summer but we'll see what's what at the end of the month.

Wasn't GTA VI slated for the end of 2025, originally? Or was that just a rumor? It's crazy we still don't have a release date, but I'm sure Rockstar is going to make sure that game is perfect for release to make sure it prints them money like the last GTA has. At this point I doubt they're ever working on Red Dead 3 so they'll just keep pouring their resources into that game to fund the company for a decade or more.

Hopefully everything else falls into place once they announce a release date, but I'm sure studios would love to get their stuff out the door and make their sales before that game drops. No one else is playing anything for a while once that comes out.

If GOW is remastered, would the s*x min-games be omitted?

Not sure how that would fly in today’s modern climate. Although to be fair, I remember 20-years ago there was also a big controversy with GTA: San Andreas and the “hot coffee” mod. IIRC, Hilary Clinton was involved in some hearing about GTA.

I grew up with the original God of War so I have more of an affinity for those games but I must admit the design of the modern games and Krato’s overall new look make for a more interesting figure/collectible.
