Tom Holland as Spider-Man. He's too awkward, much like Ezra Millers version of the Flash.
As a life-long Spider-Man fan, I personally feel he is just about perfect. Maguire and Garfield were both flawed in one way or another, but I love that casting decision.

Definitely agree with Ezra Miller, though. No comic version of Flash I'm aware of is anything like that. Parker is supposed to be an awkward teenager. Wally West as Kid Flash in the New Teen Titans comics was filled with angst, but wasn't. . .whatever Ezra Miller is doing.

Really? Cause Holland doesn't act like any other Peter Parker/Spider-Man that I've read/seen throughout my life. I'd say Spidey PS4, Spider-Man 1994 and Spectacular Spider-Man 2008 are all much better representations of the character.

Sure Peter Parker is a nerd but he's never a little wormy ball of anxiety and ADHD like Hollands is, especially once he puts on the suit he should have a good bit of confidence.

If you read the original Lee/Ditko/Romita comics, technically Maguire is closer to Parker because he wears glasses and dresses more like he's out of the 1960s. But yeah, he's pretty much a modern day version of what you describe, particularly in juxtaposition with Spider-Man himself, who wasn't quite right in the Raimi films. Not sure about the ADHD thing, but filled with anxiety and awkwardness for sure. You have to keep in mind that movie Spidey is still high school Spidey, not the version who actually got married to Mary Jane and had a professional photography career, etc. Spidey should evolve as he gets older, but that's still playing out in the movies.

Spectacular Spider-Man was still in High School and nowhere near as much of a dweeb as Holland's Parker. I just don't think he fits the role. They havetheir flaws, but Maguire and Garfield did a much better job imo. I'm just not a fan of Iron Strange Boy Jr.

The fact that he gets picked on by the MCU's version of Flash Thompson says it all for me lol.

Do you think it's Holland or the way the character is written that you object to?

I think Holland fits perfectly into the MCU, however I would have liked Garfield to continue - I really enjoyed his films

Maguire I could take or leave, but was a good start

By design Peter Parker/Spiderman must be awkward.

I think this only applies to teenage Peter Parker and as he gets older he gets more confident, but definitely agree this is true for where the Holland Peter Parker is at.

I genuinely hate Holland's Parker. He's neither the Ultimate nor the 616 version. He's just an annoying little *****. I don't much care these days though since I've outgrown the Spider-Brand. I just want my Tobey-Man Era dollies and I'm done.

For my money, it's Kang. I legitimately loathe this casting. I don't know what they were even thinking. I hated it from the moment it was announced, but when they did their version of Immortus in Loki, and did it like that, I lost all faith. How anyone looked at that guy and said "yes, here's our conqueror/wise timekeeper", while seeing the image of Alexander and the Pharaohs in him, is beyond me. I seethe about this almost daily. I was looking forward to a Kang dolly so much, but unless he gets a mask that covers his entire goofy mug and the figure comes with no headsculpt, so that I can pretend it's someone I like under it, I won't be getting it. And I love Kang. But then again we're talking about the studio that utterly wasted Mads Mikkelsen in a throwaway role, not even a cliche cultured bad guy one, so what am I even wondering about?

Too bad MCU Kang looks like this instead.

Forgot about this guy. While I did not enjoy Loki (but for a few moments) how they presented Kang was the icing on the cake. Although I actually hated Sylvie more. But I do think they wanted a quirky portrayal to differentiate him from later, which I think will be saved for a movie reveal. The next iteration of Kang (via the multiverse) should be closer to this, but the MCU will differentiate the character from Brolin's Thanos, so I'm imagining some kind of quirk.

True, but I don't think adult PP will ever be the main portrayal in the MCU. Adult, confident Parker doesn't (IMO) connect with the audience. What made Spider-Man so popular from the get, as I see it, is that being a superhero sucks and no one really wants to be Spider-Man because of all the extra baggage. That's why Peter B. Parker worked so well, confident in what he could do, but his life is still getting flushed down the toilet. I'd actually love a Peter B. style movie because I found that portrayal so endearing and funny, your mileage may vary.

What they did was worse. See, the guy in Loki was supposed to be Immortus. Immortus in the comics is Kang's final form, the enlightened time-keeper of sorts. The guy Kang hates and tries to not end up as, the same way Nathaniel tries to not end up as Kang. That version of Immortus was travesty. He tried to do "le gne nuts from isolation wacky guy" but he came off like this:

And honestly, we all know why they cast that guy. It's because of Rama-Tut. Because American media are for some reason trying to convinve the world that Egyptians were blacks from Western Africa. They could've cast actual Egyptians if they didn't want to upset anyone by doing Rama-Tut, but between this and Black Adam's Hawkman, we're entering full-on WE territory. They preach diversity, but they don't actually care about it. They just want the Twitter press. Same reason why DUNC put American blacks everywhere and didn't bother to cast a single MENA actor for a property that's heavily influenced by that part of the world. It's all a joke. They could've at least gotten a guy like Mahersala Ali for Kang if they just had to make him black, who looks intense and refined, but no, let's make him Blade for whatever reason and make this joker Kang. Hell, just pull Keith David from whatever old folk's home he's in and make him voice act. It'd be 100 times better than what we're getting.

The guy is ugly and goofy, I don't care how much they have him look intensely in the following capeflicks, he'll never look like a supergenius strategist. Seeing him surrounded by Antiquity aesthetics will be utterly hilarious and sad. He'll just be another quipster with some "oh noez, he's so serious and kewl" shots where he fires some lasers and proves his "power". Everyone’s a quipster in the MCU. I used to love the GotG during the DNA days, and the MCU made me hate them. I hope they give him a mask and HT doesn't bother to sculpt his mug, because I don't want to be looking at my Kang dolly and being reminded of this miscast. Between this and the "X-Men is problematic" news, the MCU is becoming more and more ridiculous by the day.

Oh dear, just looked that up. So the superhero property that was being inclusive before inclusivity was cool must in particular be singled out for corrective action. :lol

I completely agree, although Marvel Studios would likely love to milk Spider-Man for another ten years or more if they can which would mean he'd have to be an adult, and based on current trends, he'll either die or pass the mantle on to Miles Morales. Or we could be really surprised and NWH is their way of moving him from the Marvel world to the Sony world due to the licensing battles that come up after every contract runs out.
Peter Parker is the ultimate hard luck story which would be solved if he just stopped being Spider-Man, which thankfully he hasn't done (yet).
I can't believe we haven't seen a Peter B Parker Hot Toys figure and that gap has prevented me from getting Miles and Gwen, although I do have them in six inch scale from Mafex (Spider-Gwen incoming).

I didn't hate Sylvie, but they definitely made Loki a passenger in his own show and completely nerfed him (and Bucky in TFATWS) as well.
I was not a fan of Kang/Immortus at the end, but just assumed we'll see a more evil and menacing version in the future.
