Wait, I'm trying to really wrap my brain around this idea. Sooo, if a reboot was released in 2015 and the "current" time frame was kept contemporary, then Marty would accidentally go back to the year 1985 and the story of him saving his parents romance would play out then? Is that right? Weird... there is an element of nostalgia that almost appeals - like "Hot Tub Time Machine" minus the stupid. Get Zemeckis and Speilberg as producers and maybe J.J Abrams on board to direct, and it might be worth a watch...would have to have a crisply written, kick-ass script and quality cast, though.

Nobody will be able to replace the original cast, so I wouldn't like to see a remake done. But I would like to see if HT would make some figures and the car. :wink1:

Didn't they already try this with two sucktacular sequels? :dunno

This is one movie they NEED to leave alone.
Maybe make a new version but, to remake the movies is BAD.

I thought the intertwining of the second BTTF with the first, scenes where Marty saw himself in the last film, was clever and I like Old Biff and the "alternate 1985" but I kind of like the original as this stand alone piece.

What I don't like is how Fox was playing himself as Marty's relatives, that was a stupid gag in my opinion. The 3rd one is alright but then you have the same crap again, actors portraying multiple characters.

I would have been perfectly fine with just the original. It said everything that needed to be said.

I agree 100%.

But the idea does have possibilities. There could be enough cultural and technological advancements in 2015 that the 30 year time jump would be worth it. Maybe back 40 years to 1975 instead? I think it would have to be different enough so that any "remake" would avoid any direct comparisons. Have it try something a little different, and maybe there's a chance it could work.
