Now, I have been pretty indifferent to the SM 3 figs so far. I have yet gotten a chance to see them in person, but I thought they looked alright in pics....

until now!

I am not bashing Hasbro itself, since I have been pleased with their 6" lines, but WTF is up with this?

The sad part is that the one on the right was made FIVE years ago!!!!!

Well i mean, that is the crappiest Spider man 3 figure out there, if you want to buy a good/decent SM3 figure, get the Super Articulated Venom, black spidey or reg. spidey.

The movie figures suck big time.

Wait for the Marvel Legends line later this year that will contain only SM3 figures. These figures are for kids not collectors but that still doesn't mean they aren't crap. I think Toy Biz's figures from the 90's looked better than these.

Thats what happens when hasbro does something else than Transformers!! They should have left the Marvel line to toybiz! They were doing a great job!

Technicly Toy Biz still is since 80% of the staff, including all but one of the sculptors, at Toy Biz US now works for Hasbro. The same people who made the Toy Biz Marvel Legends figures are making the Hasbo Legends.

As a long term Spider-Man addict let me just say..................THOSE LOOK LIKE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!

These came out the same time in the UK, Hasbro have given us a purple Venom with symbiote kick action feature (superb:rolleyes:) and even the Symbiote Spider-Man looks like garbage. It's true they are mass market but some of the mass market lines can be high quality like Legends so that's really no excuse.

Normally I don't get too hung up on scale but these things also seem really small for action figures.

Hasbro doesn't even make Transformers.. Takara does. Hasbro gets the molds from Takara and distributes them to the rest of the world outside of Asia. So I wouldn't even give the makers of Hasbro props for the best toyline out there EVER!

7.4.7 is going to be a great day!

Unfortunately, the people who made decisions over at Toy Biz on marvel products are not the same. That's the people who decided to change the scale on both the SM3 and FF2 lines, change the articulation, and to incorporate the movie figures into where they really should not be, the Marvel Legends line.
I'm kinda glad that the SM3 and FF2 figures look like crap, I have bigger and more expensive things to buy.

Those mistakes were made by the bosses above them at Hasbro now. The corporate guys made those decisions not the design team. In fact a few of the old Toy Biz guys already quit Hasbro and went to work with Mattel.

I didn't say it was the design team, just the people who are the decision makers, the bosses. It doesn't surprise me that some Toy Biz guys quit, after seeing what Hasbro has produced so far and where they intend to take the lines.

That looks AWESOME!!!! I'm gonna buy two--- one to cryogenically freeze and keep forever and a day when it'll be worth millions and the second one to open and cuddle with------

(sarcasm folks... HasBLOW has that affect on me sometimes)

Huh. I understand the aggravation over the scale, having collected most Marvel movie figures from Toy Biz. But really, other than the scale, these figures don't look bad to me. And what's cool, looking at it from a kid's POV, you can get every movie villain and more all at once.
I'm definitely in the minority, though. I bought a SM3 fig at KB recently, where I know the staff, and the cashier said, "sooo, are people going to start buying these when the movie comes out? Because we have tons that we can't even fit on the floor and no-one is buying any of it." Yikes.
