The most obvious thing we see in this photo is the cockpit of Blackbird, the famous jet flown by the X-Men. And while it does look like the jet has crashed, it could potentially just be being built by the crew for shooting in the future. Now that I think of it though, why would it be fully assembled on a beach? From these pics, it seems safe to say that the Blackbird crashes at some point in X-Men First Class, and that most of it will be completed with CGI – hence the huge green structure.
Well, that then begs this question: How far does X-Men First Class go into the X-Men history? We know that the film, which stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, and Kevin Bacon is about a young Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr before they became Professor X and Magneto and focuses on their friendship, powers and the events that lead to them becoming the leaders on either side of the battle for mutants. The inclusion of Blackbird, which is generally considered to be the X-Men’s main mode of transportation (in the movies, they called it the X-Jet), leads one to believe that the X-Men are pretty well established at some point in this movie.
Am I totally wrong in my assumption? Or does it make sense that Magneto and his Brotherhood would attack the X-Men and the Blackbird in this film? Could we be looking at one of the climactic battles?
