Good old games today released several Lucasarts classics including X wing, Tie fighter and KOTOR. Anybody with a PC from the time will no doubt remember these excellent space shooters. I spent far too much of my childhood on Tie Fighter. Now they are very much up and running on modern operating systems so I can do it all over again ;) Price is a little steep maybe at $10 each but I'll pay it gladly...

New Publisher: Disney Interactive / Lucasfilm

I'll pick up Tie Fighter. That cover brings back a lot of memories.

Too bad they didn't do X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter with MP support.

I know, I still have the big box version somewhere... man I miss those ;) From what I have been reading, this is just the start of a much bigger list of titles so that may well be added in later.

I just watched a video of Tie fighter gameplay... instant childhood memories!

Anyone got any of the 3? Are they working better on modern systems? Do they support widescreen and graphics cards?

GOG always tinker with their releases to make sure they are running on the current operating systems, they are also DRM free!!

Really hoping we'll see Star wars racer soon, loved that game back in the day on the N64!

But KOTOR has been out, is there something special about this release of it?

Now, has someone already played these X Wing and TIE Fighter re-releases? It really plays widescreen? Can I use a Logitech Rumblepad (PS3 controller clone) just fine?

I learned my English furiously playing TIE Fighter, btw.

I've gotten a few games from GOG - I haven't bought these two just yet but definitely will at some point. My experience is that they do run very well on modern systems and have no complaints there.

Graphics really haven't been upgraded beyond what the game was released with previously (these being upgraded Win 95 CD-ROM versions instead of the original 3.5" floppy versions). I have not had any GOG game that includes real widescreen support...they all stretch to fit.

Anyway, still really excited to see these and also keeping my fingers crossed for X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, along with hopefully Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb!

I would assume so as long as it's recognized as a valid Windows joystick...I saw somewhere in the comments that someone already had one of these two running using an Xbox 360 controller.

This reminded me that I have a perfectly playable and upgraded X-Wing Alliance set up on my PC (using my original disks and many tricks) that I hadn't touched for a while, running at 1080p. Nostalgia almost cost me 10 bucks!

Still, I really hope these sell MILLIONS so that Disney looks into a remake.

Nice, unfortunately some of these old titles won't run with all of the tricks in the world. I purchased a boxed copy of Star Wars Racer a few years back, I've had no luck what so ever getting it to run on my Windows 7 64bit system. As soon as GOG release that one, I'll have my week planned ;)

How are you guys playing Tie Fighter, by the way? I whipped out my old Sidewinder Precision Pro. Brings back memories :lol.

What kind of joystick do you have? Windows should detect the drivers for most joysticks without any problems. If it doesn't work, you may have to enter your BIOS to enable USB "legacy support", or try to find the drivers manually with a Google Search.

I'm going for the overkill option :lol
Thrustmaster Warthog, full metal replica of an A-10c HOTAS! Cost me a fortune but it sure is a thing of beauty...

Oh ****, that's amazing :lol.

Yeah, DCS World is my go to fix for gaming, it is hardcore enough to send Ace Combat fans into a coma, but if you like accuracy (flight models and all systems modeled etc) it is unbeatable and great fun!! I wouldn't have purchased a piece of hardware like this for anything less. Still I suppose it didn't cost much more than the average GPU and it will hopefully last for many years. Wouldn't want to drop it on my foot though!

Great memories.

But I'll stick with Elite: Dangerous and (in 2+ years, Star Citizen)
