"Wanted to post a few pics of this guy for you guys. First XM piece and extremely impressed with packaging, no one does it better for sure. As for the piece its stunning, looks better in person for sure. If your on the fence about this let me tell you its worth it if you got the funds to get him. That being said it is a big and heavy piece, except the cape but i guess thats a given considering how big it is. Also if you have space issues then you might a have a problem, it takes up alot of room with its stones in the back along with the spear. But if you got room and need this avenger it worth getting, details are impressive. For sure best BP on the market. Anyway just my 2 cents, enjoy the pics guys!"

"New arrival. XM Black Panther. I always loved the Sideshow PF BUT this is better imo. XM's best head sculpt to date (I will display UNMASKED as that good and a MAJOR advance for XM in its area of consistent weakness imo).

Daniel Bel did a stunning job. Its so well balanced...a really compact sculpt (fits in a besta cube) but at the same time showing great movement. Paint, QC and attention to detail is what you come to expect from XM. For example the spear detail plus metal components (spear/claws and necklace). This is a piece that doesn't need to rely on hype....its just very, very good. No criticisms and best iteration of this character so far (for me)."

Black Panther is one of my favorite characters. The sideshow PF was also my first sideshow statue. It's always been one of my favorite statues in my collection.

The PF is a very nice statue.

The XM is something else.

It was fun comparing these 2 statues of one of my favorite characters. I'll have to do this again sometime. I still dig my sideshow PF but I love this XM. Definitely my pick for top Black Panther.

Great comparison pics! The human head sculpt/pain for XM blows away the SSC sculpt. Overall though, I do see merits in both pieces (although I like the XM better).

Thank you and I agree Iko Iko. The only thing I never liked about the ssc PF is the maskless head. I immediately liked the XM maskless head from the 1st preview and in hand it blows the PF head away. I still love the PF but the XM is now one of my top 5 statues. Still I embrace their differences. I like the rough texture of ssc vs the smooth/textured contrast of the XM. The gold accents and trim on the ssc costume vs the silver accents and surprisingly blue trim on the XM costume. Cloth cape vs sculpted (of all my sculpted capes...2 Batman, Superman, etc) BP's is the easiest work with). I like the relative simplicity of the PF vs the overall larger and more detailed XM...the base takes a lot of space, and the longer spear. Both costumes take liberties from the comic designs (ssc's gold trim along the body and forehead; most of XM's details) but I enjoy both deviations.

Since it's so much of a stylistic difference I thought this comparison would be fun for BP vs other characters I have doubles of that wouldn't work quite as well...XM Phoenix vs Jean PF, Samurai Batman vs Batman PF, they're so different from each other, or the various Spider-Man 1/4s since he's basically in the same costume with much smaller differences.

Wow.. now that's how one do comparison. Beautiful and thanks for sharing. XM clearly is the winner here, the mask and suit details, the base, and even the unmasked head (xm beat ss by far on this one)

For those that think XM can't do portraits...just look at the pics of the unmasked XM portrait next to the SSC unmasked portrait. Is anybody going to say SSC's portrait looks better? Daniel Bel crushed this piece. Everything about it is remarkable. The portraits, the pose, and the setting was nailed by Bel and XM. What a phenomenal statue.

Yup. It amazes me actually how good the face sculpt is. I do realise that SSC Black Panther is quite old. I just didn't like the unmasked sculpt even when it was released. I always wanted a Panther statue and the wait was well and truly worth it. No one can say XM can't do face sculpts to perfection. This absolutely nails it. I also think other pieces are up there also like Cable and The Punisher. Iron fist and Electro. The attention to detail is all there. Now role on Gladiator Hulk a true must own

Awesome photos, everyone. I really love this piece!

Had a general XM question, though. XM seems to pump out so many pieces...for those that are BIG TIME comic book fans, how many more characters can they produce that, in your opinion, are truly marketable and will sell?

In other words, they've done A-list like Spider-Man and the villains, things like Daredevil, and of course Black Panther...and who knows, maybe they'll do somebody like a Luke Cage due to his TV show. But, do you feel that we'll eventually start seeing XM do what Hot Toys does, which is to double, triple, and quadruple dip on a character but have him or her in their latest outfit, or different pose, etc? Or are there still a ton of characters (characters XM feels confident will sell, I should add) left to continue making original pieces?

At end of day, all companies will make multiple same character, the most popular and best seller. Just the way it is. =)

Well Gladiator Hulk is up soon. They still have other Marvel Characters to get through like Storm Spider-Man. What I admire the most about XM is their willingness to do characters like Lizard and Cable and Black Panther. But also Electro and Mysterio. Doing characters that SSC haven't bothered to touch. But giving that character real attention to detail. CM usually stay with the comic side of things which is also a big deal these days. Hot Toys mostly movie characters

Thank You

:exactly:
While I like the XM better overall unquestionably, I still very much enjoy the SSC. It's a great statue still. But the heads are no comparison. I never liked the SSC head. When I saw the digital art of the XM head I knew it was a must have. They did one of my favorite characters justice.

It'd be nice if that was an applicable excuse but the SSC is from 2010? Iron Man Comiquette was from around the same time if not before and the Ex head is a phenomenal version of Tony Stark. People have been sculpting heads at a great level for hundreds of years. SSC Black Panther just has an unfavorable head sculpt. I can see what they were going for, especially with the old school comic accurate hairline, but it still just missed the mark. On the other hand I like displaying the XM with the unmasked head. I'll definitely go back and forth between the two heads on this XM.

I actually got into collecting that year! Missed getting both those statues. My first statue was the Storm PF, and from then on I was hooked. I initially wanted the Black Panther to be displayed with Storm but missed out getting him. Thanks to Daniel Bel he pushed out something quite special with this new piece. That SSC piece is not bad at all. Just like you not keen at all on the unmasked head sculpt. Both head sculpts on the XM statue are great.
