Looks like paint loss on the front and poor application on the back. They would bother me.

If that would bother you then I advise you to get out of this hobby asap because no statue will ever reach your expectations. Especially if you view that as poor lol

He didn't post any pictures of the back of the statue.... As for the front are you talking about the blue paint in the white area? that's actually shadowing, they just used blue instead of black...

I did actually. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1420285890.952795.jpg

That's the back. Messed up line on the right.

Look, people, I didn't mean to start a fuss. I said at the outset, I don't expect perfection and probably won't even bring up these issues to Mark, which I see but admitted are so small they don't show up well in pictures. I also didn't set the standard for excellence in perfection, XM did. The statue I had replaced had small issues that many said they couldn't see, yet Ang did and it was he, not I, that insisted on me destroying my first body and shield because the minor flaws were unacceptable to him. Well, this version isn't perfect either, and that's fine. However it is about as imperfect as the one they made me destroy, this one being a little better.

I'm good. I can't display it for a while anyhow and I'm not yanking it out of the box again for now. The issues are super small. I know that and said as much. They are only even "issues" because the statue is as near perfection as any I've received and because with solid, bright colors, minor deviations become more pronounced, despite their insanely infinitesimal appearance.

I'm not complaining. I'm not saying my piece is unsatisfactory. I am only saying that I destroyed a body and shield at the bidding of XM and received a new body and shield that had similarly small issues.

I applaud XM and their diligence and the way they handled me. Their dedication to perfection is astounding. Yet it is also nearly unattainable. I'm not sure what my ultimate opinion here, but I am a happy customer and happy with my beautiful Captain America, despite having these admittedly small issues that I do see. I will un-see them later.

SurlyJ that's a fair post. I just don't think there is any such thing as a perfect statue.

When I got my Cap statue it turned up looking fantastic. Great solid piece with amazing paint apps. I just think if you look close enough at any statue you will find the odd very minor blemish. No matter what company is making them

I have always felt this way myself concerning statues RB. No such thing as minty mint.

:exactly:
All statues will have one minor detail wrong, so there is no thing as perfect only if you have your favorite characters then you take the minor flaws xD and you can say perfect

My bad I missed that picture... Anyways I have a few imperfections just like you on the black lines, but I have to look extremely close to see them, odds are every Capt. American statue has a few of those blemishes on them...

Really, if I needed your advice I would have asked and as I stated it would bother me.

The fact yours turned out nice is wonderful and while others would consider SurlyJ's issues minimal it bothered him enough that he posted pics seeking opinions/advice and possibly hoping the issue might be corrected.

Mine turned out nice with no issues but again that has nothing to do with SurlyJ's.

If it doesn't bother you how about packing your's up and trading it for SurlyJ's and pass on the snark.

I think you should let Mark know Surly. If you don't ask, then you'll never get. You paid a hell of a lot of money for it and you shouldn't have to settle for something that you aren't completely satisfied with.

The worst thing that can happen is that he'll say no, and you keep it as is. Maybe he'll offer to give you a bit of credit back so you can find some one to touch up the minor paint flaws? XM really seem like cool guys and they did provide you with some possible solutions the last time.

Yeah it wouldn't bother me trading but shipping would be a killer but I didn't want to sound mean and I could of worded my reply more tactfully but there's no such thing as a 100% statue so chances are he won't be happy with mine either.

Guuuuuys I'm happy and don't expect perfection. How many times do I have to repeat myself? Lol

We get it we get it. But are you happy? And do you expect perfection?

Kidding. Happy for you brother, it's a remarkable piece.

You guys are hilarious! ...Are you sure you sure it's perfect ...lol.

I just wanted to check in here, let you all know I'm still happy and though no statue may be so, I'm also perfect.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Still nothing from BBTS about when they will be receiving their stock. Been over 6 months since I pre-ordered. I wonder if the port slowdown has anything to do with it.

Random question: Does XM place edition sizes on their pieces or may Exclusives?

XM puts edition sizes on all their statues, the max they will make of any statue is 999. They will not do re-releases or variants. And all their statues are solid sculpts. If they decided to do the same character again they will create an all new pose for it.

The first 1/2 of the statues get a coin, so for example there were 800 Magnetos so 400 of those Magnetos came with a coin. All comic based statues come with a poster that the statue was based on.
