Gotcha. That makes sense, particularly when AMC has not handled their toy licenses very well to date and has a lot of profit being left on the table, so customs can really eat into that.
Marvel is a different beast though. No idea how litigious they are by nature, but often the larger the company with the more widespread market dominance, the less they fuss about things like customs are small run third party sales. Of course the opposite can be true as well.

Can we stop talking about this...makes me nervous. I love my Cap and have to get that Magneto
I think the only person to be pissed is SS because of the straying from their pieces.
Hmmm....interesting about SS selling Bowen items using the same loophole.

You have absolutely nothing to be worried about. As long as someone is not selling unlicensed product, there is no problem. Americans are not prohibited to buy products from resellers overseas. Unless there is an embargo during times of war or something drastic to that effect.....any individual has a right to buy products from outside the US territory. There is no law in most countries that prevents their citizens from buying US products if they can't get it directly from the manufacturer.
Bottom line....as long as XM is staying within the contract guidelines...they are fine. Like I said before on SF and I'll say it here....this forum is not the end all be all of information for collectibles. Tons of other places and ways of acquiring info outside of SF and SSF.
This! Marvel got their money in licensing fees. SSC is the company that's losing profits by XM Merch not being restricted to the 4 countries in XM's licensing agreement. Marvel may still act on this issue. However, it will be at the behest of SSC.
I honestly think nothing will come of this. Bowen has a similar restriction with his licensing agreement and Marvel. He is only allowed to sell his items in the US. That means no international customers can order directly from BD. However, that doesn't stop international collectors from buying BD merch through online retailers and shops. Hell, SSC sells BD merch themselves to international customers. This stuff has been going on for a long time with many companies. So long as the merch being sold is licensed, everything else seems moot.
