Have to agree, if I wanted one Thor in my collection the old SS PF would be it, what a great pose on that one. If this is the pose they're going with, and I have no idea if it is or isn't, it's quite boring. The wavy cape looks cool, but seems more fitting for a Superman statue than Thor imo.

If the pose is the only one bugging you Take note. "this is one of their ideas for the pose" but not THE final pose. There was a captain america that was standing next to him on that portrait and the captain america they release didn't exactly looked like it. So that is subject to change.

Just my two cents...original pose Cipriano was working on include the bearded portrait, the switch out left hand holding the hammer and most definitely that spinning hammer.

I know its blasphemous but I hated the original ss thor. Didnt like the fabric or that he was looking straight up or that he looked chubby. And of all things his foot always bothered me because it was longer than the rock but flat. No ones positions a foot like that. Not saying xm is the answer. All im saying is I think there is plenty of room for a better version. We just havnt seen it yet.

Yeah.. the SS Thor isn't perfect, but still one of their best at the time and still is awesome. Museum pose all the way!

This easily. Like Yankee stated though I'm partial to fully sculpted so it's not exactly a fair comparison for me. At least without bias. I had the SS EX and I think it was done rather well. He was awkward to display though because he made the Hulk PF look like a midget and those PJs were not to my liking. The portraits however were damn perfect. Especially bearded Thor. If you displayed him as a stand alone below eye level it was epic. But if you were trying to to set up an avengers theme he looked out of place

I liked the idea of the original SS thor, but when I displayed him with my Avengers, I always was annoyed he was looking straight up. Also, I have always thought his fists were too small for his arms. I can go either way on sculpt or fabric, but the old SS thor got linty.

I owned the original Thor but it wasn't for me unfortunately pretty much for the same reasons as mentioned in comments above. I definitely understand why people love it though because he does have a epic pose



But it can be beat and I'm confident XM will. For me anyway
