I've just finished the DD Netflix series (yea I'm lagging), where did the shoulder pads come from?

I'm gonna guess XM's DD was meant to be a rendition of the Netflix DD, rather than the more comic-based Sideshow DD, so it really doesn't make sense to compare the two imo.

XM likes to add their "own" twist to characters. Just look at some of the others that have been produced.

This is XM's stylized version of DD. It won't be found in comics but it is inspired by the comic DD. It's not based off of the Netfilix DD costume. XM is known to take liberties with their costumes. The XM Wolverine and Mags are just a few other characters that aren't 100% true to their comics costumes either. Some peeps like it and think it's very modern looking, and some peeps don't.
