Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

Measuring tonight to see if I can even fit this bad boy in. I think I saw where it is around 25-26 inches deep. I am going to assume Banner is around 7-8 inches of this. If I can't fit it, I'll admire from afar.

Well, I measured...and I can't find a spot to put this one. The depth is killer. The bad thing is this is an awesome Hulk and I would have liked it in my collection. The good thing is the cost of this (with shipping) is pretty high so I'm saving some big money.

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

Considering that he's transforming from a 180 lbs man into a 1000 lbs BEAST, I'd say the fabric in his pants would look stretched and frayed. It's not like his pants are made of spandex so I'm ok with the pants looking different after the transformation.

Seeing this in person It doesn’t bother me one bit. I’m just saying those fine little details I picked up on at the con. That piece I had to order

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

Well, seeing it in person, Hulk is not too humongous (tall), which is good due to display space constraint. Just hope to weight & box dimension is not too heavy & large due to shipping cost.

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

Beautiful piece! Same as Hulkbuster...seems price of shipping is going to limit me to just being a fan...

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

Ya know its bueatifully sculpted and Banner looks great.. But I cant get past that Hulk Pose. Not a fan... Seems more fitting for Thanos or Dr Doom. Its a villian Pose. I just prefer my Hulk in a more classic power pose.. Having said that.. If I just collected hulk or had a huge Hulk collection I would be excited for this piece since it is very different. But its not definitive for me at all.

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

I LOVE this sculpt. HULK is very different from most heroes. He's violent and a rage machine. He's definitely not your normal superhero. A threatening or dangerous pose works for the character. For example, I absolutely loved the original transformation scene of the HULK in the first Avengers movie. When Black Widow is basically running for her life and we see the HULK's massive hands keep reaching out for her from the darkness. A character as large and uncontrollable as the HULK doesn't have to fit a traditional superhero pose. It isn't just his fists and a smashing pose that makes him scary. Seeing him out of control and raging is frightening enough. Just the thought of those massive hands reaching out for anyone would make most characters pray for their lives or piss their pants. For me personally, this is easily the best 1/4 HULK statue I've ever seen. It's not even close in my book. The only thing that gives me pause is the price of this beast. I still have a hard time dropping the $$$$ it would take to acquire this piece. As a family man, it's tough to justify spending over 2K on a statue. That's the only reason I hesitate to pull the trigger on XM merch. Otherwise, I'd own HULKbuster, Weapon X, Storm, and this transformation HULK from XM. I love all those XM statues.

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

I'll stick with my $150 Hamilton Collection Hulk...lol Yeah, I know, his arms are too long but the head size ratio to body is better and my wallet doesn't feel so sodomized.

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

The Hulk's head is way too small...looks ridiculous. lol

Portrait is perfect for me. Best 1/4 portrait of the HULK I've seen. Doesn't look overly small. Besides, HULK has been drawn with a smaller head by many artists. I'm digging the piece overall. However, as you said, the hit to the wallet for this piece is brutal.

I get it.. Hulk being less then heroic is normal.. I agree 100% about the first avengers scene.. Or even the first transformation in TIH movie.. Its just this pose is more of a classic villain pose... So for me it just does not work. But obviously it works for some / many and that's cool.

For me the perfect Hulk as far as rage goes is the original Comiquette.. That is Classic Hulk.. 1/4 scale and a better haircut away from being the perfect hulk :lol

Like you said he has been drawn that way several times... Most of my fav Hulk artist draw him with a smaller noggin. I also think the XM head sculpt fits just fine.. Its not my fav face sculpt but its nice for sure.

He's been drawn wrong several times IMO. I hate the pinhead look.

Your fave Hulk artists must have been working from the 90's and later. The good artists from the 60's-70's followed a marvel style that kept him from looking like a freak. They used their own artistic talents and techniques but they kept him looking consistent across the board. When Romita Sr first received the hulk page art from McFarlane back in the day, he said, "this isn't the hulk". It was a got damn freak fest and now all of these other punk artists do their thing. Death to the Freak Hulk!!!!

Re: XM Studios Hulk Transformation statue

Having seen this piece in person last year. It’s the best Hulk piece to date! Pictures don’t do it enough justice. It’s really well done. I 100% love the pose also.

I would not say he was drawn consistent. Hulk's look has changed a lot through the years. HE went through a very drastic look from 60's to 70's

He was pretty freaky looking in his early issues.. Jack Kirby gave him a very Neanderthal freaky look 4 fingers and toes and a pretty deformed face. He was pretty freaky looking. Now perhaps you are just talking about the body being freakishly large but Early Hulk was a freak for sure.

Hulk of the 70's by Romita Sr, Sal Buscema and Ernie Chan was probably the most normal looking of all the Hulks. He was proportioned like the body builders of the day and his facial features were pretty normal. I would dare say it was him most handsome look also :lol Well until professor hulk.

Todd Mcfarlane went for the more Kirby look... So when Romita complained he was complaining about a Kirby inspired looing hulk...

Ed McGuinness is more of a 70's inspired looking hulk but bigger.

Dale Keown loved doing the smaller heads as well as Carlo Pagulayan (sometimes), and Paul Pelletier... All of who I love.

My Fav Hulk artist Mike Deodato Jr always did the smaller head..

Personally I like a smaller head because the mass of the body really shows... Love the 70's Hulk also but I find the work of Deodato Jr and Keown to be far superior but that is just cause I like that style. Never cared for Kirby or McFarlane.

All Hail Tiny Head Hulk!!!!!
