Agreed. I guess XM has finally reached that status where they could collect a deposit without even showing a proto. Next, will be quality control. We've seen this over and over again. Sad times are coming.

Trust me... it's been like that since (almost) the beginning. I know A LOT of people put their deposits down on Venom based only on the early sketches, and it was also sold at the previous Con without even a rough 3D sculpt shown. I actually put a deposit down for Weapon X based only on the sketch and the sculptor who's working on it

When your batting close to 1000, virtually no QC/shipping mishaps, listening to its collectors, constantly taking the industry to a new level piece after piece, one can justify/trust their process and expect a phenominal final product.

They've had their fair share of QC issues, mind you they always resolved them, but let's not act like they have been perfect (Black Widow leaning, Ant-Man with brown and not blonde hair (although this was never resolved to my knowledge so I recently repainted mine blonde), etc.).

2. Every Ant-Man owner received a new head for free, a complete new head with the right color

I contacted my Seller repeatedly at Secret Compass. He just says I'll look into it over and over again. That was just last week the last time I wrote asking for it again.
I gave up asking. Something this simple for a seller to blow off repeatedly over something I was entitled to, I just decided to order from elsewhere from now on.
Funny thing was I almost bought the Imaginarium 1/3 Aquaman from him off Ebay till I realized who it was. Oh well. Elsewhere for that too.

Didn't wanna bother XM. Figure if they can't ship to the US. Didn't think they could send me an Ant-Man Head. I just leave the Head that came with it as is. You can't really see it unless you look for it. Just annoying how some sellers are so petty.

There are some things to point out tho.
As mentioned, the Black Widow came from a casting issue where the material was softer and it bent. It only affected one batch of the statue and was substituted - which is more than what most companies do to be really honest.
As for Ant Man, I got it from Singapore, sent exactly one message about the head and received a replacement head some time later, I think it was a pair of months. If someone buys them off from Singapore and resells them as a third party (which is what Secret Compass does), and you don't get a replacement, it's because they are not asking for it, it's not XM avoiding the problem.

Also, one thing I want to point out. I've opened and inspected tens of XM pieces in the last 2 years or so, been helping out a local retailer, plus I've helped quite a lot of other collectors getting them... the consistence of their paint app and flawless assembly is second to none. There are pieces where I checked like ten copies of the same statue and the paint application, smooth assembly and lack of flaws/breakages were just perfect. Same for those I helped getting the statues, never had a report for issues.
This is not to say there are no breakages or paint flaws on any of their pieces, but the flaw % rate is ridicolously low, going by my firsthand experience.
There are a number of their statues that I'd never buy because I'm not convinced on the look or finished sculpt or paint app, but in my experience, that is backed by some serious numbers, I can tell that what you see in the prototype (and eventual updates of the prototype) is matched in production in an impressive fashon.

Also, this is not to say people should blindly preorder their stuff out of sheer faith based only on concept art or raw sculpts - that's something I'm NOT comfortable with and should not be the norm, at all. But I can see why some people have no issues doing it.

I ordered Hulkbuster, Ghost Rider and Venom when they were just sketches. I just ordered the Darth Vader Set and General Grevious yesterday and I've seen Nothing at all.
I have most of the XM statues currently out and a bunch on Pre-Order and I've not been disappointed yet.

Just talk to my contact guy... Since Hulkbuster is an exclusive and XM dealers are not getting any, the best he can do is like $3000 SGD, plus he figures it will be shipped in two boxes at around $500 SGD for each box. So your looking around $3000 USD shipped.... I really wanted this but way to rich for my blood... Plus I really want XM's Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Batgirl, so I rather save my money for those vs one huge statue... well technically two statues...

For those who get him, you'll have a monster of a statue.... take pictures

Thank you. I got a few sources now that have come through very smoothly most times. Just this week because of the show going on, all the hooks said now is the time to get your Pre-Orders in since they are all there.
