someone on another forum posted that link. but at that exchange rate its $846 before s&h!.

so a friend just got an email from these guys stating he was supposed to only be charged 25% for preorders but was charged full price up front AND that s&h is now magically increased to $290 from the $42 that was quited at checkout. oh & to add insult to injury they ran out of coins. he cancelled asap, evidentally they have 50 statues of which 40 sold-- if anyone wants to pay ridiculous prices for mags they now have 10+ 1 left. Crappy retailer though fyi--

There was a notice for all members in the four regions only. You guys have to remember that this is not for sale in the states, Europe, or anywhere else for that matter. We had our PO before anyone else did in the form of Mark and Kenny. I've been posting about them for weeks. Most missed because nobody thought it was going to go as fast as it did.
Right, but we know for a fact that they're aware people in the USA and elsewhere are buying their products, and I'm at least assuming we're a sizable consumer of their products. I don't see how anybody can argue that giving us a little notice (including an idea of the final price) wouldn't have been better. If on July 31st there had been an announcement that it would be listed August 7 for $899, I would have had my pre-order secured, instead of scrambling like a maniac.

It's just a learning point for them to consider. I'm personally not willing to repeatedly play the "scarce collectible...oops we're out" game. I did it with Mattel across several toylines (f' you Mattel). I've tried it with things like Mondo posters. It's just not worth the stress. I'll pre-order without seeing a finished product, but I at the very least have to know a price before I do so.

In my opinion it may be a risk for them to put out a general announcement before the actual PO. The last thing we want is for marvel to view this as an attempt to facilitate the distribution outside their contractual territories and risk not getting or renewal or even termination. Personally i am looking forward to many great pieces from that and thats the last thing i want see happen.

It still lists as sold out as of now (and I guess it's dumb luck if you stumble across when its gets relisted). But I had heard kayorzz indicate you could get Magneto if you bundled it with some other statues. I'm hoping that offer is still available cause I actually do want some others XMs ( actually have them pre-ordered, but without a deposit). So it would work great for me.

That's a more than fair assessment.

Well the information has been flowing for weeks now in the forum, there ws talk that the price was going to be between $850-$899. The repeated answer to the question "when is the PO coming out" always pointed out around the date they opened up the PO. If you want the statue that much you just have to show a little interest and do your homework.

Man I would have been pissed if I'd missed this statue after months of following this thread and keeping a close at eye at XM releases, if you wanted to buy this piece from the "known" retailers giving a little notice as you said would have only made this harder to get...it sold out in less that 24h without it, this are pieces with low ES you have to be more alert if you want a statue that much. The price and release window didn't come as a surprise to the ones that did their homework...

Not trying to trash anybody, I'm just a little annoyed about all the hate XM is receiving while they are doing a good job. Man I even received an email saying that they were sold out but they reserved a small stock for the guys that have bought their previous pieces, that's ****ing loyalty and I love the way XM do their business.

Very fair point. And yeah, I'd agree on the "scarce collectible game". I'm hoping this is not the new norm for XM. I don't think it is, but who knows? I've played that Mondo print game too (among others), totally not worth it.

That said, to be fair XM is somewhat limited in that they cannot even ship over here. but based on what SpecFiction posted earlier, it seems communication was lacking throughout. Chalk it up to a learning experience for the next release. :)

Yeah I been tracking this post and had mine locked down early because I knew an expected price and release date from everything that was being leaked on here. A lot of complaining seems to b coming from needs or those who have become accustomed to ss practices. The veterans ain't complaining because we have been there and done this before. Welcome back to the world of collecting all. You win some and lose some but there will always b another hot release just around the corner.

Oh and don't play victim everyone was waiting for bbts hoping it would b $600 but those who have been doing xm dance new better. Open them wallets if you want in. If not...move on

Xm is doing a fantastic job. They are doing epic characters on an epic scale. The QC is on point. They adjust to customer feedback. The ES is very nice and limited. Sure their is room for improvement but everyone and everything has room for improvement. I don't have a Mags yet but I'll get one. I was hoping to wait for the US retailers and so far that's backfired. I had plenty of time to order via the Singapore dealers but wanted the best price. Lesson learned.

I agree with this.

Where are the best places to order these from if I live in the U.S.? I really want their Wolverine. I really wanted Magneto, but it was gone fast. Any chance of getting a Magneto now?

nemenforcer, good post. I agree - you can't wait for a good deal on a piece like this. And for people who feel like they didn't know about the PO, XM does have a mailer for those that subscribe to their website (they mentioned this on their FB page) after reading other annoyed potential buyer's responses when they mentioned they were sold out.

empacker04: According to XM on FB,
lil monster our Malaysia distributor should have stock available : [email protected] (razman)
. Try contacting them immediately.

I POed mine but expected total cost's including s&h will be $900 USD. Best of luck to my fellow collector's in getting this reserved!

To get Magneto you'll have to scramble a bit and go through a dealer in Singapore. There are a few that are available on here to pm. As far as US retailers for XM statues there are 3...BBTS, SpecFiction, and Secret Compass. BBTS and Secret Compass sold out of Magneto in minutes. If your really wanting to lock down future statues the Singapore dealers are your best bet.

:goodpost: This.

Mags just happened to be super HOT! It is so Bad@$$ that even peeps that hate sitting statues wanted it. Then there are all the fans of Magneto that have been starving for a 1/4 statue. I don't think this will be the norm (24 hr sellouts) for most of their statues.

Specfiction and Secretcompass go through a Singapore reseller just like many of us did here they just order a bundle. It's not fair to say XM did not communicate with them because they don't have a relationship with XM. Contractually XM can't and we certainly don't want them to have problems with the license.

they are unfortunately sold out. I tried to secure one from them before getting it from FB. But big thumbs up on trying to help out your fellow collectors, we need more of that on here...

I think most people thought the US retailers here were going to get more statues then they got, I know Secret Compass only got 10, BBTS.com given how fast they sold out probably only had a handful also... And Speculative Fiction already stated he only got a few... So it's more of a lesson learned, that if you really want the statue and don't want to take a risk of missing out your going to have to buy it in advance from the members who live in Singapore and pay the $100+ more for air shipping... Something to think about with Wolverine and Phoenix coming up for pre-order

I think it's pretty obvious that the retailers in Singapore knew this was going to a be a hot seller and bought up the inventory quickly... Like I said before I won't be surprised to see more Mag's up for sell down the road but at a lot higher price then retail.

This guys sold out so fast. My local retailer is trying to find a slot for me.
