It's his opinion and he's entitled to it. I'm not really sure why you and others feel the need to keep calling him out for his fricking opinion. He's allowed to have one.

I think I can answer this and it actually has nothing to do with magneto, it's because he likes daredevil and daredevil sucks. :D

I find it weird to say "this is the one that XM originally wanted" because it was XM who then decided to change it to the two-piece helmet. So they wanted it this way, then decided it was better off as a two piece helmet. I am just wondering where and why the change of heart took place.

I will say I like the facial expression better on the Proto slightly but I prefer the helmet fit of the painted one.

As for padding... A helmet serves no purpose without padding. You just get a concussion anytime you get hit in the head. And like I've said before if we are using our powers of comic book logic then it stands to reason that since magneto controls metal and magnetos helmet is made of a metal that magneto would constantly have his helmet covering ever so slightly above his head so as to not be knocking against it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding of Magneto's helmet is that it acts as a mental barrier, not a physical one. I don't think Magneto is too worried about getting hit in the head...just my take on it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...now we're getting personal! :lol

I really not understand whats wrong with the helmet n why ur pointing out....... if company is doing changes & listen to customer then we want change as per everyone's perspective which is not good.......

I'm not 100% sure I understand your wording, but since you asked...

Look back at the side by side pic of painted vs unpainted. I like the top half of the helmet better on the unpainted because it fits his head.

If I'm being honest, I like the bottom half...the cheek guards...better on the painted one.

If they could combine the two helmets into one, I think we'd have the perfect helmet. As-is, I prefer the unpainted because of the better fit in the top half of the helmet.

Seriously?!

Some of you sound like you might hold XM ransom for trying to appease the masses and doing what's best for the eventual product. That's poor form in my opinion, and bordering on brattiness.

"if I don't get this, I'll be throwing a catty fit! I would hitherto discredit all things XM. Harumpf! It doesn't matter if it looks better to well-trained eyes! My eyes are the best; they can resurrect the dead!"

And so XM listens and tosses in 10 portraits, but they miss out on the Jim Lee that Tavegg wants. He whines like a *****. They toss that in but miss out on the Fassbender that Yankee wants. And he whines like a *****. So when does all this finally end? And here comes the coup de grace - after all the frills and quality work and flash-bang thrown in - a cacophony of voices will exclaim that XM pieces are too pricey. Man, that's like kicking a guy in the crotch when he's already dead.

Come off it, ladies. Leave the experts to their craft. You can't save all the alley-cats...

You are right, it is a mental barrier. Which was probably only added later on as originally my guess is he was drawn with a helmet just because it looked cool.

This is all fun and games, really. Fussing over minutiae and debating comic book logic. It's what geeks do! And it's fun.

You can't please everyone. However if XM does something you want but few else care about much, I think a bit of teasing is in order.

But if we are being serious about this helmet logic thing, I stand by my assertion that Magneto would have the helmet hovering millimeters to an inch away from his head at all times. Why not? It would take very little of his power to do, would basically be a reflex and would provide him a heck of a lot more comfort.

None of this debate though takes away from my excitement for the statue though. If you ask my opinion, I prefer the two piece head. That doesn't mean I hate the one piece head. It looks fine. Just less fine than the two piece. I liked the idea of it actually being sculpted separately. I will reserve final judgement for seeing the final product.

That's what I would do if I was Magneto, that's for damn sure.
