It will be interesting to see how the Artgerm hair flips will work in 3 dimensions. Looks fine for the first two angles, but the third angle looks weird.

I think that was just the beginning works. Erick did that while at SGTCC while getting art germs guidance. I know Erick will tweak it to perfection

Yeah there's alot of people that don't like this style as she appears young and slightly and slightly animae but I love Artgerm and anything he touches is gold for me

I get people not liking the slightly anime look, even though I like the Artgerm head, at least the image we've seen of it.

But Jean should be young. Even with the sliding time scale of comics, she's 24 when Phoenix died. I like how later printings adjust the date.

Dude thank you. For some reason I thought the proto head was the same but just a tweaked version. Man this looks awesome. But love that fierce face; so sexy!

I love it. She doesn't look too young. She looks like she's just at an perfect age, between adolescence and maturity and again with the anime thing, same as above just a perfect blend of both types of looks, Artgerm is a ****ing G(enius)
I'll probably go with the face they show on the proto, but I'm always open to getting more head...I mean more portraits.
The more the merrier I always say

Sosa is the man, that Thor he fixed looks so amazing. I may have to make that my second XM piece lol *face palms self*

Man guys, I really was crushed that Phoenix got the green light from Marvel at this point. When she was shelved, I breathed a sigh of relief because I thought I'd be able to nail this piece down some time in the future. Anyone who knows me, knows how BADLY I wanted a line of fully sculpted X-MEN from the Byrne era. I even pleaded with Bryan from the start to make the future pieces in their X-MEN line from that era. Unfortunately, I didn't feel comfortable dropping the $$$ needed to secure her because money has been a little too tight of late (hit a bit of a rough patch since last year). Too many PO's are coming fast and furious lately and it looks like a dream of having a 1/4 fully sculpted XM X-MEN lineup is questionable now. Them's the breaks as they say. Hopefully things start looking better for me soon. If they do, I'll go back and pick up Phoenix (and the rest of the X-MEN pieces I need), even if I have to deal with the dreaded aftermarket prices. Man, this wouldn't even be so hard to deal with if XM didn't make SUCH AWESOME statues. I blame them for all of my agony! :lol

I know what you mean man...sorry you hit a rough patch.

Thanks buddy. That's life. As much as it will suck missing out on any of the classic X-MEN pieces from XM, there are worse things in life. I still have a TON to be thankful for.

I wish more people had that spirit my friend!

I am so happy that I managed to preorder this...once I get her, a XM's eventual Cyclops, & if Sideshow ever releases a Magneto, I am retiring from 1/4th. Really bummed that I missed XM's Magneto, but Phoenix is far better imho so I can live with that.

Trust me, in person, magneto might just change your mind. Haha

Mags is still the ONE for me when it comes to XM pieces. Everything else comes behind it. However, there's no denying that Phoenix look phenomenal. It all boils down to personal taste.

:exactly::goodpost: Mags is still the ultimate piece for me also. :thud:

If anyone missed Phoenix and has a spare Mags I'm looking for a straight trade, shoot me a PM
