Woke up to see a "payment processed" email from Simply Toys and a second email with this:

You have received a new message from Simply Toys LLP regarding order with the reference XXXXXXXXX.

Message:
Hi there,

Thank you for your order. Firstly, we apologise for any difficulty you may have had due to the website not being able to load properly. The high amount of traffic was too much for the server to handle. However we're pleased to inform you that your order has been processed and you were successful in securing an XM Studios Phoenix statue (without coin).

Thank you.

Best Regards
Simply Toys Web Sales Team

Plenty of people have mentioned there ordered this ages ago. If you really wanted this then that was your warning right there to do something about it.

Totally agree. There was a lot of time to lock one up.

If you already had a connect and especially if you've already ordered an XM piece through a connect before, then yes, you had plenty of time. But for those who didn't have a personal source or hadn't placed orders before, there were simply too many people looking for one compared to readily known reputable sources to guarantee a lock in for everybody.

I acted pretty early but was told PO lists were full, or couldn't get through with DMs due to full inboxes. Placed a few emails which went unanswered. That's where the all of the time went. Thankfully I got one through Simply Toys, but this is what many have been going through for weeks at this point.

I didn't order with one of the forum members before and if I wanted I could have ordered Phoenix via one of them. So it was not so difficult even if you did not PO with them before.

In the end the chase is also an exciting part of the hobby and with a low ES like this, not everyone will be able to get one. This makes it a real collectible in my eyes and what most of us wanted. The whole process just makes it more exciting. It also just shows that they are making quality statues

Well everybody is different. It's good it wasn't difficult for you, but your experience can't be projected to other people. Myself and others experienced chasing leads, not getting through with DMs and emails, being told early on that lists are full, etc. Anyway it's a good heads up for those who might want the highly anticipated statues in the future and knowing there's multiple chances beyond forum members and Simply Toys.

to be fair, a lot of them sold out pretty early.

Truth.

if they are going to allow u to lock down orders thru friends of their company, why set up POs dates with half of ES already sold, instead do it like the custom commissioners do, wait for first 1000 to sign up and close it out, as for no license to international clients, they are anyway letting people get it through what they call friends of the company, why not let everyone including friends of the company able to secure theirs on day of PO,

totally agreed

Do people realize that XM has many retailers and resellers that they set an allocation to? The number of statues available for advance preorder by prestige members is very small in relation to the total ES. Take a chill pill, guys, the prestige pre-order had nothing to do with this selling out so quickly. It's the overall high demand and relatively low OVERALL ES.

How can you be sure? Where are your numbers?

I think I have a pretty good understanding of how it works based on my conversations with my reseller.

Here is my suggestion to you...XM is pretty transparent, why not just ask them instead of whining? I bet they'll give an honest answer.
