same here Jeff, I had many chances to grab multiple of these, but didnt.

The only thing I regret is not having them to flip.

Great statue, but just not enough of a Doom fan.

Am I alone here, but does the sheer beauty of this piece out weigh the fact that you don't even have to be a fan of this character to fully appreciate him? I mean I don't like the Fantastic Four or Doom that much, just enough to say, "meh", but as a collectible it freaking rocks! The job done on him is reason enough to own him. Only thing stopping me from getting him is the ridiculous price he fetches on the secondary market. Especially for something that was just released in 2005. At 250-300 US he's reasonable. At 1,000-1,500 it's too rich for my blood. I rather get a Cinemaquette for that kind of dollar, or better yet, use that towards something bigger like furniture, money in the bank, buying multiple PFs (potential future grails like your Captain Americas that sport a tag of 250-280 US now that will surely skyrocket to a grand in a year's time), or money towards a car, or down payment to a house.

But to each their own. It's a maverlous piece that can be admired, even from a owner's point of view, even if you know little to nothing of the character or care about its history. It's art at its best!

I agree with you 100% - it was the beauty of this piece that captured my eye and my heart...therefore leading to an uncontrollable obsession to own him no matter what the cost....I'm trying (and I use that word lightly) to save for a down payment as we speak...but my home would never be complete without this piece, so down payment be damned....I'll have to wait a little longer before I'm ready to buy a new place....but I keep telling myself that's okay...I've got Doom!!!! :D

I know that's supposed to be funny, but it's sooo silly. Can't live in a Doom, but you can live in a house! Grow up!

*says the person who doesn't know any better*

hehe

I was just about to tell you to go to hell, but you saved yourself. Of course I'm only joking and a home obviously takes precedence over collectibles. Maybe you should loosen up and have a lighter point of view in things.

Yes I too post in jest. If I was ready to buy a home right this minute...then of course Doom would have to wait....but I'm not...and therefore I buy. :)

I am rarely serious on these forums. Heck, do you know what these forums are about? It's about collectibles pertaining to the fantasy and fictional world. Don't take what I say to heart. No point getting pissy over what someone posts on these forums anyway. There is much greater things to get upset over. Like tax season! Or soaps, reality TV, or Nascar!
