Thanks Alice for the quick reply.

Yes, I do have the Kenner Yoda (never forget the morning it was sitting in my shoe).
It was/is so special because it is so small and wears real clothes - lucky for me mine is still complete. (thank you mother...)

Finding that cane will be not a easy thing to do (so tiny), but I am sure you will.
Just keep an eye open and be patient ;-)

You won't belive this, but just a week or 2 ago, I found that snake lying in a box. As I had forgotten it belonged to the Kenner Yoda I own, I put it in a safe place, thinking it might come handy one day. Then, when the Medicom Yoda started shipping, I did some research on the internet, and found out that my Kenner Yoda was missing a little more than just the cane! Luckily I had found the snake a few days earlier! So, maybe one day, I find the cane in an other box? :D

Got mine at FX this past weekend and am planning the painting stages.... He's much better than I imagined he would be from the preview pics. And fits nicely with my other figures...

hahaha it's like Vader is saying "booyah!" :lol

very cool Kelly congrats!

Here is a tease on my repaint, in mid work.... should be finished this week....

Awesome DA! It didn't need the makeover, but the makeover sure does hilight a lot of it's qualities, I like the sideways glance a lot.

Awesome job DA. Give us some details on how you did it. Its the newness of the cloak that bothers me the most on mine.

Looks sharp DA!

I just ordered one on Monday from cornerstorecomics.com after reading Crawford's review, so I'm patiently awaiting his arrival. I originally had one ordered from Sideshow but had to cancel for one reason or another. But since Sideshow is now sold out, I had to look elsewhere for him. Anyway, this will be my first ever Medicom item (aside from SW Kubrick figures) and I'm looking forward to it.

I bet that everyone that didn't see how nice this figure was from the beginning, is sorry now! As far as I'm concerned, and judging the pix posted here (I'm still waiting on my VCD Yoda), this Medicom VCD Yoda is very close to how I remember Yoda from ESB! My all time favorite Yoda scene? When Luke takes off in his X-wing, covering Yoda and his Dagobah home in a red light. Yoda then has this conversation with the Obi Wan spirit:

[SIZE=-1]Yoda: Told you I did. Reckless is he. Now, matters are worse.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: That boy is our last hope.
Yoda: No. There is another…

And of course there's that memorable dying scene from RotJ...

Thanks guys, I really wanted this one to shine and the sculpt was certainly there. With a figure so nice, you really can't go wrong unless you have never done a repaint before. :D

Wasn't a fan of the paintjob, especially the eyes... so I decided to fix it. The end result was far beyond what I wanted, so I'm very happy with how it turned out.

First I removed the clothing and stained it with a light wash and frayed the edges. I just thought it looked too "new" for an accurate Dagobah Yoda. I also turned the shirt around to get rid of the velcro (which incidentally is very very hard to remove without damaging the shirt). I weathered the cane and repainted his feet, hands and head.

The eyes I was most proud of... The sculpt was open more on the right eye than the left and I exploited that with the direction they looked. Really gave it some life I think. The skin was tough, layers and layers of different shades of green and then a light "dirt" drybrush to give it that filthy look that Yoda had in ESB.

All in all, I'm very proud of it. :chew

I'm just super-enamored of the work you've done her, Josh! I want the best looking Yoda I can get for my collection, and I think you hit on just the right details to make that happen. I'll be incorporating your recipe for the perfect ESB Yoda. Inspired. Thanks!

PS
Got my Wolvie today. Looking forward to repainting that one too. I'd have never known what a great likeness was there if you hadn't repainted yours. So, thanks again!

Thank YOU!! It's always cool to have the inspiration come full circle. Your work got me into this hobby, got me started on this path... and now to have any of my work give you inspiration or to wow you in any way is an honor, really is. :bow

I can't wait to see what magic you work on your Wolvie and Yoda. I'm sure it will rock and I'm super psyched to see the end results!! :rock:rock
