With Aquaman and Bumblebee out, I figured now would be a good time to start our "best and worst of" thread for the year.

For me:

Top shelf:
Avengers: Infinity War (duh)
Black Panther

Really enjoyed:
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (first hour was terrible but I enjoyed the last half)
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween
The House with a Clock in Its Walls
Solo: A Star Wars Story

Meh:
Venom
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Christopher Robin
Ralph Breaks the Internet

Sucked:
Incredibles 2
Hotel Transylvania 3

Downright awful:
Halloween

The list is all Hollywood movies. Not diverse enough.

Hong Kong film Project Gutenberg deserves a nod. Chow Yun Fat was fantastic! And the money counterfeiting process scenes were dope.

Best
Solo A Star Wars Story
Mission Impossible Fallout
Avengers Infinity War
A Star Is Born
You Were Never Really Here
Ready Player One
A Quiet Place

Worst
Venom

Meh
Deadpool 2

Good enough
Halloween
Bohemian Rhapsody
First Man

1. Infinity War
2. Halloween
3. Ant-Man and The Wasp
4. Incredibles 2
5. Deadpool
6. Black Panther
7. Solo

That’s all I saw I think. List could change depending on my mood. All at least decent imo. Nothing that really disappointed.

BEST: Infinity War

WORST: so many to choose from... so many I didn't even bother seeing most (Predator, Halloween, Venom, etc)... biggest disappointment might be Incredibles 2. 15 years for that?

What I hated about Incredibles 2 was the lame villain twist. That, and the whole "supers need government supervision" thing which bored me. Incredibles 1 is the only movie where that plot point worked. In everything else it's just boring and stale.

Best
Infinity War
Ready Player One
Solo

Typical
Jurassic World 2
Deadpool 2
MI: Fallout
Antman and Wasp
The Incredibles 2

Worst
Pacific Rim
The Predator
Venom
Aquaman

Best: Aquaman. Way beyond expectations. Epic movie
Worst: Incredibles 2. Complete trash.

Enjoyed Solo, BP, Hellfest and also Bumblebee
Disappointed with Halloween, The Predator, and Infinity War (it just didn’t wow me at all)
Good year for sure!

In no particular order (didn’t get to see a lot this year)
Favourites:
Spider-Man into the Spiderverse - just incredible!
Avengers Infinity War
Annihilation
Deadpool 2
MI:Fallout
A Quiet Place

Didn’t like:
Venom - what an atrocious fustercluck

Want to see:
Mandy
Suspiria

Disappointed:
Solo

Overall I thought 2018 was a weaker year for movies than 2017. I’d take Blade Runner 2049, Thor: Ragnarok, or Guardians 2 over anything from 2018. Anyway...

Best: Solo, Infinity War

Pretty Good: Deadpool 2, Black Panther, Christopher Robin, A Quiet Place

Meh: Incredibles 2, Predator, Ant-Man & Wasp

Bad: Ready Player One, Jurassic World

So Bad I Almost Walked Out On: Fantastic Beasts, The Meg

Didn’t go to theatre much this year. What I liked was:

Black Panther
Infinity War
Solo
Deadpool 2

I found rather meh:
Jurassic Park
Hereditary

I since watched several other 2018 movies thru subscription services nothing really stood out. Not a banner year in my book...

I don't get the love for Ready Player One. Saw it on cable again and its close to unwatchable a 2nd time. Right up there with Hook as far as Spielberg goes.

I don’t watch trailers but you still have expectations on how good movies are (ie. The Predator is not going to be Oscar worthy). No movie blew me away this year. All movies fell slightly below my expectations. infinity war was good and entertaining BUT it was basically a end to 20 movie production. It can’t stand by itself without all the movies from the past. I felt like I was watching a WWE Royal Rumble that had been building up for 10 years. Biggest disappointment Incredibles 2. Hand down. Everything else was entertaining

Yeah but I like Hook also.....
