I agree with Duck, that Image Comics has the most unique, well written, non limited titles of all of the publishers. I do not agree about Invincible ( I know we have had this debate Duck :1-1: lol ) but Image is definately a great publisher to check out. I will second Walking Dead for sure, and add to it Locke and Key, Sweet Tooth (<3), Saga, Thief of Thieves (decent), East of West, and many more! For collectors interests, Image comics seem to increase and retain value better than other publishers since their print runs are more limited and the demand sky rockets on alot of them instantly after reviews are released.

Me neither. Not sure, but the Absolute edition will have the entire Morrison run? Or, do I have to read something else before or after.

They are saying such things about the Absolute Blackest Night, that it does not have GL 43-52, without which the Absolute edition will not make sense.

I think absolute edition will have morrisons entire batman and robin run, but obviously that whole storyline follows on from rip and batman and son, which I've never read. I don't think it's essential but I'd like to start right there and work my way through.

Haha, wow. So much information here. So don't go for the subscription deals for digital comics? I'm leaning towards still doing it just to test the waters and check out different types of superheroes... Then I can go back and pick up actual copies of my favorites. I think I remember reading something about paying per month for access to either the Marvel or DC digital comic library. Does it include all the ones you guys recommended? Or do they exclude the latest ones?

From what I have looked into the digital library doesn't really have complete runs or a lot of the new series. Things may have changed since I have looked into it so you might want to still look at the library. Also if you are into digital comics Comixology runs 99 cent sales every Monday? I believe on Marvel comics not all just the certain series they have on sale that week so gives you a chance to pick up some cheap issues. But seriously creator owned books are the way to go if you are new to comics. No 1000000000 years of back story you need to know which makes them easy to get into. www.comixology.com you can find quite a few first issues for free to kind of see what you like.

This weeks pull and my review rating:

Aquaman 6/10
Animal Man (havent read yet)
All New X-Men (havent read yet)
Green Arrow 8/20
Superior Spiderman (havent read yet)
Hawkeye (havent read yet)
Thanos Rising 9/10
Detective Comics 6/10
Jupiters Legacy (havent read yet)

So far pick of the week is Thanos Rising #2. I still havent read my favorite titles yet, I try to save what I think will be best for last; but Thanos Rising has an awesome story going for it. For anyone that is not familiar with Thanos, Aaron is building him up well and giving awesome detail on his character! I highly recommend Thanos Rising both #1 and #2 by Jason Aaron (Also writer of current Thor NOW).

Haven't read X-Men yet. But I have yet to be disappointed. And speaking of being disappointed.

I was really disappointed with the latest issue of Superior Spiderman.

The cover looked good and, after reading the last issue, I had a good idea where this one was going. At the end of this issue I felt... unfulfilled.

I think they could have done much more and stretched out the "battle" over two issues. It was over way too quickly.

Still, Superior Spiderman is one of my favorite reads right now.

just finished the TPB for this series, I was entertained. When a T-1000 says smell my finger.... WATCH OUT!

And valiant Masters.

I got 5 as well, all sucked :( Whatever happened to FCBD with good comics? You get what you pay for.....

I am reading Superman: the Unauthorized Biography by Weldon. Very good read - history of Superman and his changes throughout the years.

I'm just reading issues I picked up at free comic book day. I read uncanny x-men, chew, the walking dead prequel, and i am currently on all new x-men. I'm glad they made first issues available as I had been wanting to check these out.
