Well l bought my first blu-ray player yesterday (Sony) and my first blu-ray was the first pirates movie (first time seeing a blu-ray). Looks much better then the reg dvd, but was still a grainy in some scenes. Not sure if that is suppost to be there or not. My TV is 60hZ and it says 1920x1080 24hz when the blu-ray starts playing.

Do you remember which scenes?

Even though it's Blu-Ray, there will still be grain in movies because it's meant to be there.

I like the Region Free....how much was it ????

It's WB. They're always Region Free :lecture

Well retirement is like 65 so I think you have plenty of time:yess:

Dino, that is you in the video? You have a cool accent:wave

I love how he says "Harry Potta" :yess:

As much as I love Dino's accent, I still loooove hearing Hicksie talk. :D

I had Warren Ellis inscribe his book, Crooked Little Vein, "____ Harry Potter..." because it came out on the same day as the last Potter book, and I saw him write that on his blog somewhere. That was a few years ago when he made the trip over for SDCC, and he had a good chuckle doing that inscription for me.

No offense to the Potter fans, I love the films myself, but the review and accent made me remember that story.

I haven't heard Hicksie talk. I want to hear Dino say, "Oy, Harry Potta is such a wanka":lol no, I mean "blutty wanka" :D

:lol Yeah that's the London and Essex influences in my accent. At least it was not Arry Potta. :lol

At the very begining of "Curse Of The Black Pearl" about 10 seconds in where you see the young Elizabeth on the ship the camera comes up to her an it looks like she is standng behind a sreen door from the grain ( tat wasthe worst scen in the movie for grain), then in the next scenes it is almst gone. In some scenes it's crystal clear then some the background has little vertical grain everywhere and sometimes a little bit on some faces (very light though). Overall thought the picture is much better.

I put in the regular Extended third LOTR movie in my new Blu-ray player and it looked insane, perfectly clear.

I am still trying to hunt down Grey's Anatomy for cheap. Walmart finally put it up for $20 on their site and bam, sold out of the seasons I was looking for before I even knew it. :(

If anyone is looking for something hard to find, just let me know. I'll be glad to look for you. I need an excuse to go shopping since none of our family is exchanging gifts this year.

The Lord of the Rings (Extended Trilogy) [Blu-Ray + Digital Copy] - $45
Thor (Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy) - $10
Captain America (Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy) - $10
Your Highness (Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy) - $10
Star Wars I, II, III [Blu-Ray] - $25
Star Wars IV, V, VI [Blu-Ray] - $25
Hall Pass (Unrated) [Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy] - $15

Bought the 2 separate Star Wars collections since I am not a fan of cardboard/paper packaging.

I just checked and there was nothing except a little grain in the fog but that was in every scene and it's supposed to look like that.

Have you calibrated your TV?
