I picked up a few Blu-Ray titles...

Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D: MUCH better than the DVD was as far as clarity and 3D effect, not much extra besides the Lost Tales installment. But worth the upgrade, especially if you DON'T have it with the 3D version yet.

Kickboxer: GREAT transfer, really crisp and clean. It's hard to imagine the age of the film while you are watching it, it's that squeaky clean. No extras, but worth it for the transfer of the actual film.

Ghostbusters: The transfer is grainy, especially in a few scenes. But the extras are very nice, lots of cool stuff to satisfy GB fans. The visual quality of the film isn't that much better than DVD, but still worth it for the extras if you have the coupon that was offered online.

Friday the 13th (Remake): Great movie, really crisp visually. And the new cut was nice, especially for one key death. There are a lot of cool extras as well, which makes for a pretty damn good Blu-Ray release.

I picked up GB for $12 shipped yesterday.... I am thinking it should be worth that at least. Word is it's not a great upgrade but it is better.

Harry Potter 1-5 on Blu for $57 .... Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day.

been trying to hold off on that one for bit... May just wait it out and deal with the HD-DVD set I have until the entire collection hits.

Yeah i have a few of them on HD-DVD as well (if only we'd known eh?) so i think i'll wait until the whole lot come but the price he got was great. :)

Yeah but they don't have the Harry set :(

They had it when the promotion started, so they either ran through their allotment or it might come back up.

Man I have been wanting that Highlander. How is the grain?

For a low budget movie from the 80s, Highlander looks pretty damn good. And I don't mind some grain since it's a part of the original movie.

I have all these as well, Josh! Well I take that back, I don't have Friday the 13th Part 3 yet, but eventually I will!! :rock

I hope so. I was hoping to snag it. Would be better for $20 than $60 ...

Yeah I don't mind a little grain either. As long as it looks better than anything I have seen on VHS/Laserdisc/DVD... I am happy.

There's a 50% off sale (60% if you have a membership card) on all Criterion Collection DVDs and blu-rays at Barnes and Noble (at least the one I went to). I was going to cream my pants. So I got:

The Last Metro (BD)
For All Mankind (BD)
The Seventh Seal (BD)
The Hit (DVD)
Bicycle Thieves (DVD, for my sis)
