How's the new gear looking bud? Are you happy with the picture quality?
The test pattern looks wrong. I had to stop playing with it last night so I'll finish today. I need to move the projector or screen up or down, not sure which. Here's a shot of my setup. uploadfromtaptalk1445691611166.jpg

Nice set up.

I haven't watched any of my Halloween favorites. I need to start buying DVDs so I can watch these movies whenever.

My favorite modern films:

Frozen
The Strangers
Jeepers Creeepers
Hostel
Saw series
House of 1000 corpses and Devils rejects
Grave encounters
Vacancy
Autopsy
Splinter
Signs
Session 9
Silent Hill

Very nice P666! If you don't mind me suggesting... I recommend you move the screen down. If possible, you want your eyes to be pointing at the middle of the screen with your head in it's neutral position for optimal vertical viewing angle. This isn't much of an issue if you can tilt the screen downwards. Perhaps you can pull the entire bottom edge of the screen towards the wall, but ensure that the screen is still a flat plane.

One of my friends had his 50" HDTV above his fireplace. I helped him bring it down to a better location. His wife asked what I did to the picture because everything looks brighter and more vibrant. :)
They both noticed less neck and shoulder stiffness too. :lol

Another detail you can try... I love tower speakers. Angle the right tower slightly outward to the right and the left tower slightly outward to the left. This creates better separation between the two and you might notice a better stereo effect due to the wider sound field.

Regarding the test pattern, maybe I can help if you tell me what you're seeing.

By the way, are those GoldenEar Triton's?
I have another friend who I helped install and set up his gear. He has the Triton (I can't recall which exact model), but I do remember very crisp highs and a very natural sounding midrange. It's like candy if you're an audiophile. :)

Thanks for the tips man! I pulled the screen down further, but only to the top of the center speaker. I figure I'm at about the same angle as the first row in the pic you posted. I had to take the pj down from the ceiling position and mount it upright in a shelf position. This way I got the test pattern near perfect. Yes I have Goldenear all 5 speakers and an SVS pc-13 ultra sub. XL center, triton 7 fronts and aon 3 surrounds. My home theater is now truly a theater...so badass! Gotta try out the 3d.

:)

Fell asleep last night early in to session 9 lol. I finished it today. I don't remember this film at all so I'm a little confused but read up on it.

So from what I can piece together, it was hinted that Gordon was most likely one of the mental patients in the hospital that was let go when the buidling was shut down. He got his act together etc. but then his business was starting to fail combining that with the stress of being a new dad, he became weak and tire. What re-sent him over the wall though was re-entering this building, his repressed memories were re-opened and this is what caused him to snap and kill his wife/daughter, simon got into him because he was already weak. It just kept getting worse and worse and eventually killed his entire crew.

Does that sound right?

Not sure, but sounds interesting. Almost like a revision of Stephen King's story, The Shining.

Watched too many movies today lol

Session 9
Grave Encounters
The Pyramid
Chernobyl Diaries
Exist

I recommend all except the pyramid, which isn't terrible, just the characters are so unlikeable...

tomorrow as above so below...
