It's cool. I wasn't bothered at all. I knew there was nothing I could do so I just laid there and listened and it didn't happen again and nothing appeared so I turned out the light again and went to sleep.

Yup! It's the 1997 remake/TV miniseries. It has it's moments, but certainly no way close to the original.

As a matter of fact, I've got it on right now.
