Your thoughts about a HT 1/6 Queen Alien

So you think theres a good possibiliy Sideshow (Hot Toys) will produce a 1/6 Queen Alien (fully poseable like the HT Predators)? If so, this thing will be HUGE, at least 4' tall. Im guessing price will be $400+. How many of you would buy it? I know I would....

Pjam and I were just talking about this. I agree, the price point for such a huge figure (2.5-3 feet tall) would have to be 399.99 at the very least, given HT pricing.

Honestly though, I still can't see it. Maybe a 1/8 scale "young" Queen, but a 1/6th scale version seems... I don't know, just too massive. Where the heck would you put it? Seems like HT would make more money just releasing variants on their Alien and Marine figures... like they're doing.

Exactly how tall would it be though? I freeze framed a few clips from AVP and Aliens, from what can see the Alien Warriors are about 1/4 the size of the queen. If the 1/6 Alien Warriors are 14" Tall, wouldnt the queen be over 4' tall?

I guess so, standing straight up. I always think of her hunched over like in ALIENS. In any event, she'd be one huge b**ch!

I would love to see a 1/6 queen!
And I would love to own one, but I would also love to own a 1/6 tank, and there's quite a few out there. Fact is, I don't have the space or appetite to put so much money into a single item...
Who knows, if HT ever made one, I can see myself being very very tempted.

Given the exceptionally strong sales of the ED-209 figure, it is VERY LIKELY we will see the Alien Queen (though not with egg sack) but yeah, it will be expensive. And you can lay money down now for a Power Loader for Ripley. You know it will happen.

Knowing Howard, we'll see a Queen, then a PL. Two years ago no-one imagined we'd see a sixth scale Ed 209 and now it's a paradigm for sixth scale figures. Computer sculpting will make this a reality and not as expensive as some think... but we will see a Queen, you can count on that.

If that Freddy was Ripley, and you got a PowerLoader and Queen to battle it out... where do you put this stuff? You'd definitely need another room like Gruson. And if your kids got ahold of it...

Man, that is huge!
I think we also need to think about the queen in terms of weight and balance. There's no way you can do the queen as a free standing action figure, the head is just too massive for the figure to be able to be highly articulated and also keep her balance.

Maybe use a 'light weight" material for the head piece, the mantle...

Even 1/6 scale would be around 25 inches tall (ALIENS Queen)

FYI, the Queen in AvP was a lot bigger than the Queen from ALIENS.

Hey, Batty or Dave, can one of you grab a frame of that moment in ALIENS when the Queen faces off with the powerloader -- the wide shot that shows the scale.

Gotta see just how big this diorama is gonna be.

These were the best shots I could find of the wide angle since most shots were cut in tight for the real Ripley and the Animatronic Stan Winston Queen. You can see the scale models pretty obviously in the wide shot but it should give you a good sense of how a 1:6 scale model PL and Queen will actually look.

Nice grabs again Dave, I always thought the Queen would NOT be 4 x the size of Ripley and that last shot showed it IMO. I don't know what her actual scale would be but it is recorded somewhere in the film production notes because they used models for some of the shots, mostly when Ripley grabbed the Queen for "the tumble" into the cargo hold, but this convinces me why I think we'll see a Queen, maybe 24-36" not 48"... the PL in sixth scale might be 14"

I guess making the Queen from Aliens makes more sense since the Queen from AVP would be a bit too big.

2-3' would be perfect for a 1/6 Queen.

OK, so a 26-28" QUEEN ALIEN I can see now.

I just pulled out a measuring tape and that's still a monster to display! Its as tall as Jabba's throne is wide. Thsoe two together would basically force me to move out of my own bedroom.

love that piece Gru! wish i'd had the dough at the time to get one. hell it's quite a bit too big but displaying the HT marines and Riply around it would look freakin awesome.
