More Koolaide?

by making the male eye uncomfortable watching this

What male was uncomfortable watching this? I can guarantee not one boy who went to see this movie went with the intention of understanding what it is like to be a girl. You can twist that idea around intellectually, theoretically. You could also say **** in general is female-empowering.

But that was his idea to show something too comfortable that it would be uncomfortable to the public to admit. We as man should feel the girls pain but we were just looking for butts and **** because that was what Snyder was inducing us to see, its like what they did to Skylar in Breaking Bad.

This was to **** the mind of the the primary public audience(men of all ages who fantasy with woman in school uniform etc).
Me for instance i feel really uncomfortable and ashamed when i see statue collections themed around "naked teen girls" like this which is clearly a kid. 66916154_10156376738327344_2159600399282077696_n.jpg

So Zach makes a full movie of that doll to glamorize it thus showing how its bad and degrading? Glamorize to reveal degradation...? And the kids Sucker Punch was marketed too are sophisticated enough to understand that? Yeah, I just don't see it.

Yes he did that, but it was not the market public that understand that, it was people who choose to stop and think to understand what they saw after seeing the movie.

Its like The Matrix, if you see the movie once, you understand the top of the iceberg, if you see more times and discuss with more people you will dig more and more to achieve the meaning of the movie and what the directors tried to pass as the message.

And its not just Zack Snyder, but a whole bunch of directors do that.

I assure you no one was uncomfortable with her cause

1 she?s not a teenage girl.
And also she?s not fully naked. She?s meant to be sexy.
The movie is to showcase a woman taking her power back and wearing sexy clothes while doing it. I assure you no man felt uncomfortable watching her at all. It?s meant to be a play on the Japanese anime tropes were girls fight in there skirts cause it?s hot.

cause it?s hot.

Really this could have been the title of Zach's masterpiece Sucker Punch.

I have no delusions about a better, brighter meaning behind his naughty little, five-finger master-work. He knew what he was making and to get it made and CYA he came up with a subversive sub-textual message.... buried deep between cleavage and thighs... cause its hot.

Just revisited Aquaman. WOW the visuals. It might have the best visuals of any cbm period. Hell some of the best visuals of any MOVIE period. Just mindblowing.

As for the film itself it really is just a fun adventure yarn. Nothing more nothing less. But like ZSJL I'm finding that I'm just enjoying living in this "world" more and more and so this is yet another movie where I'm enjoying the long run time. Entertaining characters, entertaining action, good music and an overall fun ride. And LOL at how insanely violent Black Manta's fall off the cliff into the water was. :lol

And I agree with jye that the dual rooftop battle/chase might be one of the best (or the best) ever put on film. The Snyder cut has really made me re-evaluate the whole DCEU because now I'm already looking forward to revisiting AM too.

MOS, BvS, WW, SS(?), ZSJL, and AM make for a really solid cinematic universe IMO.

I put the "?" after SS because I haven't seen it in a while and am not sure if it's faults will be more glaring five years later to the point where it is now unwatchable or whether its link to the Snyder Cut (Affleck, Leto, and a decent HQ) will elevate it just like the others. Looking forward to binging the whole thing now that I have access to the proper BvS.

To me Aquaman is this Generation's Flash Gordan. It is a beautiful movie with a great cast and it is just cheesy fun.

it's definitely not a masterpiece but it has hidden meanings that show what he was trying to achieve with the movie.

Exactly ironwez20, we don't care about her because she was hot and that is exactly his argument for the film, it was intentional to show them as hot supersexualized girls to the point that we don't give a damn about their well being as long as they are sexy.

Do you notice the picture quality when watching a theatrical movie shot on IMAX or projected with Dolby Laser? 4K basically gives you that quality at home. Not remotely like watching a TV show (unless you're watching an MCU flick but that's not 4K's fault, lol.)

Like Wor said, that isn?t 4K but Modern TVs that change picture from 24fps to 60fps. It?s a feature usually called smooth motion or something simple. You have to turn that OFF!

For some bizarre reason it?s switched on as default on most TVs and it makes everything look soap opera as you said.

4K just makes everything much crisper and ugh quality

It?s the HDR (high contrast) that really makes that difference there.

Thanks guys, maybe I will do the upgrade some time in the future.

So true! Perfect tagline!

That is the best possible way to look at Aquaman. It is in the best possible way over-the-top (as they used to say).

Yep. Hollywood rarely does ridiculously over the top movies well any more. Maybe that's why the Fast & Furious movies are so popular. Though I wouldn't know since I haven't watched one of those movies since the second one, lol.

No problem! *Definitely* worth the upgrade IMO. And it's an upgrade that won't even break the bank.

No surprise Fast Five was really fun. And connects to the DCEU in several ways.

Oh that's right James Wan actually directed a few of those didn't he. :duh Okay well that totally explains the joint appeal of that series and Aquaman then. :lol

Which F&F movies are considered the "good" ones?

I've only seen one or two of the F&F movies, but I watched a clip on youtube where two cars drive through office buildings, jumping from building to building. Now that's just ridiculous and over the top.

I prefer Waterworld.

Sure, in retrospect it doesn't look nearly as epic as Aquaman, but...no, I guess that's it. Still, I even like Kevin Costner's Mariner character more than Aquabro.

Also, Dennis Hopper is the villain. Who's the villain Aquaman again?
