As much as I am a fan of Trevor's version (I even bought 1), I think it's rather inappropriate to post that pic here, as this is Zkulptor and Rainman's thread.

Personally, I would vote for erring on the side of downplaying the high waist.
Totally. That was the style. The only thing is the crotch area does need to come up a little more.
I do agree about the crotch critique, and I would also like to suggest that the parsley pattern on the sleeves be a little more dense
