I decided to post it here....
So yeah....uh, im doing a short low budget school project. So...mabye I could start a thread about the whole process.
Poster I made...the only thing I didnt make is the earth.
And yes, I am in talks with some of the local police to do a high speed chase though my neighborhood.
And yes, I think I can actually do this stuff...

EXT. – SPACE
An asteroid hurtles toward the earth at astounding speeds. It enters the atmosphere, and crashes to the ground. At that moment, the Military enters the crash site waving all kinds of strange equipment.
GENERAL GREEN exits the vehicle.
LT. HOFFMAN
Sir, HXS5 has just touched down, and we’ve sent a team to retrieve it.
GENERAL GREEN
Good. Prep the extraction team for 0 800 hours.
The Military head out into the woods, each man has flashlights and strange devices that blink and beep.
CLOSE UP on the meteor, it is engulfed in smoke. We move in tighter on the meteor and we see, ice melting off the base. An unknown SOLDIER shines his lights onto the meteor.
SOLDIER
SIR! SIR! I FOUND IT!
The SOLDIER moves closer upon the meteor, he’s curiously stupid. He touches the meteor. He ‘s hesitant, but is still determined to touch it. His finger is less then an inch away from the meteor, when the meteor emits an inhuman sound. The SOLDIER covers his ears in agony. His ears and nose drip with blood.
Then, the meteor opens up, and a long tube shoves itself down the SOLDIERS throat. The tube retracts, and the SOLDIER falls over.
We move in closer to the “dead” SOLDIER, his eyes open wide, and he emits the same inhuman sound as the meteor did.
He is then shot by a tranquilizer dart, and is taken away.
OPENING TITLES
There is a montage of the following events.
THE SOLIDER IS BEING EXAMINED BY SCIENTISTS.
HE IS THEN PROBED, AND PRODED.
BLOOD IS THEN EXTRACTED, AND STUDIED.
THE GENERAL WATCHES THE ENTIRE THING.
THE SOLIDER BREAKS FREE AND ESCAPES. (Killing a lot of men.)
EXT.—FOREST—DAWN
The SOLDIER comes out of the woods, and walks into a gas station. The SOLDIER is a complete mess. Blood and puss cover his uniform.
He walks up the counter where the CLERK just stares at him.
CLERK
Can I help you?
The SOLDIER licks his lips. Except it is not a tongue he has, it’s some sort of large proboscis, the SOLDIER growls in excitement.
SOLIDER
Some nice clean cloths would be nice. Maybe, a little snack.
The SOLIDER smiles.
EXT.—TOWN—DUSK
We see what everyday life is like in the little town. We HARD CUT to a punching bag, which immediately gets hit, very hard. We see various close ups of feet kicking, hands punching, hitting the bag with great force. We then reveal it is DONNA. She pants heavly. Her instructor gives
INSTUCTOR
Good form today. You’re getting better. But you must work on your footing. That’s your Achilles heal.
DONNA nods, and takes a sip of her water.
INSTRUCTOR
See you next week DONNA.
DONNA heads home. She gets out of her car, and opens her front door.
We then see DONNA in bed. She snuggles with her husband. She gives him a kiss, and roles back over. She then decides to roll over again, but all is not well.
She sees her husband; he has a huge knife lodged in his mouth. Blood pours down his face, she looks up and sees a man, large, in a black hoodie. He lunges at her.
She wakes up in a terror sweat. She turns over on her side, and there is a man lying next to her, but it was not the man in her dream. She starts to cry.
EXT – TOWN – DUSK
We see how the town functions as a whole. We pan to a man walking in the
We PAN into a local restaurant where we see DONNA, who is a waitress, finishing her last table before the day is up. DONNA washes her hands, and hangs up her uniform.
She then says, rather melancholy-
DONNA
All right JOYCE, I’m heading out.
JOYCE
You best not be heading out with that scumbag RICK. He lays just one his ugly fingers on you….I swear…lord, give me strength!
DONNA
He…he…
JOYCE
You don’t deserve this honey. I know it’s been a hard few years. I can’t imagine how hard it must be. But you have to realize it wasn’t your fault.
DONNA begins to tear up.
DONNA
After DIRK died….I…I just acted too…late…
She begins to sob. JOYCE holds her tightly.
JOYCE
Losing a husband is hard. I know how much you and JAKE loved him. He was a good man. This guy…he’s not DONNA. He’s not. How many times has he struck Jake? How many?
DONNA looks away. She doesn’t cry, she has an emotionless face.
JOYCE
Stay with me tonight. Bring JAKE; we’ll…go to the toy store, and then get some ice cream. Sound good?
RICK comes into the restaurant.
WAITRESS
Hello sir, look we’re closing right now so, you’re going to have to come back tomorrow.
RICK
Not here for food. Came to get my wife.
DONNA! Donna! Get over here now. We have a reservation for 8, its 7:56!
DONNA and JOYCE look at each other. RICK yells obscenities in the background.
JOYCE
Look, you’re one of the strongest women I’ve ever met, you’re dealing with the hardest thing you’ll ever have to, losing your husband. Now look at me. Don’t take any crap from this loser. He’s not worth it. You. Deserve. Better.
DONNA gets up. She’s wipe’s her tears, and becomes all fire. She walks out to RICK.
RICK
Oh good honey! Take as long as you need. We’re not in any hurry whatsoever!
He says sarcastically, as he rolls his eyes.
DONNA
No. I’m not in a hurry. I’m not going.
RICK goes from puzzled to furious.
RICK
What did you say? Get in the damn car.
DONNA
No.
RICK
I said get in the damn car.
DONNA walks toward RICK.
RICK
That’s more like it baby.
She walks right past him, and walks right out the door.
RICK
Get back here you little SKANK!
He grabs her by the arm, she gets out of his grip, he then slaps her across the face.
She stumbles back.
RICK
That’d teach you, you no good for nothing…
DONNA recoils her arm, and punches RICK right across the face. RICK stumbles, and tries to get up to look tough, but the hit was too much, he falls. DONNA walks away from him.
DONNA crosses the street, which now a red light. She dodges a few cars, but manages to cross the street just fine.
RICK yells at her while struggling to walk.
RICK
COME BACK HERE YOU LITTLE WHORE!
When I….get…over there, I’m going to…kick…ugh.
RICK stubbles across the street, cars are swerving out of the way.
However, one car doesn’t stop, and PLOWS right into RICK, killing him instantly. The car continues moving until it crashes into a pole.
DONNA rushes to check the wreck. She looks at RICK who is nothing more than a twisted, broken pile of meat, she feels nothing. She checks the driver, who appears to be dead. She opens the door, and the driver falls out, bloody and a mess.
She checks the driver’s pulse, nothing.
DONNA
Hey JOYCE! JOYCE! Get an ambulance quick!
But before she could finish her sentence, the driver leaps up and begins to attack DONNA, the driver begins to try and bite her, she manages to fend him off long enough for JOYCE to come to the rescue.
As she pulls the driver off, he turns around and attacks JOYCE, biting her neck. Blood spills everywhere. JOYCE tries to scream, but can’t due to the fact that her vocal cords have been ripped out.
The driver turns to DONNA and we see ITS eyes. They’re black, hollow, like a shark’s. The driver leaps at DONNA, but she dodges the attack. She then counters the attack with a swift kick to the face. The driver gets back up, blood oozing down its face, it then jumps at her again. DONNA quickly kicks it again, but this time she sent it falling backwards onto a piece of twisted metal.
The driver doesn’t get back up. She goes to check JOYCE. But all that is left is blood, and her hair ribbon.
JOYCE appears behind DONNA, and begins to attack her. DONNA screams, and just runs. JOYCE does the same, except she’s faster, and more agile then DONNA is, and quickly catches up to her. Before the JOYCE puts the final kill on DONNA, a loud gunshot is heard, and simultaneously JOYCE’s head explodes in a shower of blood and brain.
DONNA lets out a small short scream; she then turns to her savior, a cop, NATHAN holding his 9mm. She runs to him.
NATHAN
Get in the car! Hurry! They’re coming!
DONNA
WHO’s COMING! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!
NATHAN
Shut up and get into the…oh crap…
NATHAN sees more INFECTED run towards the car. He lets off a few shots, he hits a few in the head, one jumps and lands on the car. NATHAN gets in quickly. The INFECTED WOMAN begins to break the windows trying to get the meat inside. NATHAN starts the car, and gets out of there. The INFECTED WOMAN falls off the car, and lands HARD onto the road.
They’re driving in a normal car, not a cop issued car.
DONNA
What the hell were those things! Zombies? WHY ARE THERE ZOMBIES IN MY TOWN!
NATHAN replies in very out of breath pauses.
NATHAN
We…came across…these people, who were…we got a call about some…I don’t know…disturbances…
He swerves his car in mid speech.
DONNA
What disturbances! What are you talking about! Why are we in this….thing and not a police car!? ZOMBIES!???
NATHAN
(Cont.)
Then we saw these things. They killed 4 of my best friends, all of them. Then within maybe 20 seconds or so, they came back to life, I have no idea how to explain this…so look if you could be so very kind and shut up for a minute so I can figure out a place to go.
DONNA scowls, and sits back.
NATHAN
This was the only thing I could find. They took my car.
DONNA
Zombies….took you’re car?
NATHAN
They’re not zombies. In don’t know what they are.
They drive around the neighborhoods extremely fast looking for a place to go.
DONNA
So….where are we going exactly?
NATHAN
Somewhere to stay…
DONNA
MY SON! We have to go back! He’s with his baby sitter!
NATHAN
He’s probably dead, c’mon, we have to get to shelter...
DONNA doesn’t wait, she grabs the wheel in a furious rage, spins the car around, and NATHAN tries to regain control of the wheel. He does, and DONNA is panicking, so she does the only thing she can.
She grabs the gun from NATHAN’s belt, and holds it right to his face.
DONNA
Listen to me you prick, you take me back or else I’ll leave you for the zombies.
NATHAN
I didn’t have to save you! And they aren’t zombies!
DONNA
Just...please. Please take me back. He’s all I have left....please. I’d do anything to save him...please.
DONNA is in tears, NATHAN stuggles with what to do. He sighs, and turns around.
They arrive at DONNA’s house within a few minutes. They get out of the car, and both notice immediately that…
NATHAN
It’s so quite...did everyone leave...or...
DONNA heads into the house, she is still holding the gun.
DONNA
JAKE! JAKE! Honey please, tell Mommy if you’re here! JAKE! Honey!
They hear a small rustle in the next room. They open the door.
The sight they see is something truly ghastly. Blood, bone, organs, spewed everywhere. DONNA gasps, after which she vomits. NATHAN is very disturbed. His face is a blank stare.
After wiping her mouth…
DONNA
Oh my god....JUNEET...the baby sitter!
NATHAN
What’s left of her....
DONNA looks on the counter, and sees a envelope with the words MOMMY written on the front. She opens it. The Letter says…(in his writing)
Deer Mom
Ther was big monsters chasing us. They got Juneet. But I hided. I hided well. They dindt find me. So I ran to grandmas.
XXOOO Love Jake.
DONNA crumbles the paper, she begins to sob.
NATHAN
What’s wrong?
DONNA
It’s JAKE. He...went to his grandma’s. She lives on the other side of town.
There is rustling in the kitchen. They both look. Guns armed and ready.
They creep closer to the kitchen door, when suddenly the PHONE rings. They both jump. She checks the caller ID.
DONNA
It’s JAKE! JAKE honey, hello? Oh my god...I was so worried. Are you ok? Good. Are you with Grandma?
Yes...stay in the cellar. Don’t come out. Period. I will come and get you. I promise. I love you...too....
She hangs up the phone.
Suddenly an INFECTED person pops out from the kitchen.
NATHAN and DONNA react, they begin to fire at the assailant, he gets hit once or twice, but he just keeps on coming. He lunges at NATHAN, but NATHAN just whacks him in the head with the shotgun butt. The INFECTED person falls.
They leave immediately.
They head out to their car, however the car has disappeared. They’re quite puzzled, when suddenly a Soldier jumps out waving a gun in their faces.
PVT. WAGNER
Are you infected! Are you infected!
NATHAN
Uh…what? What the…who are you?
PVT. WAGNER
I’m PVT. WAGNER. I came with the military unit that arrived a few weeks ago. I’m all that’s left. We need a place to go. Somewhere big, and empty. Anything close by that fits that discription?
DONNA
Uh…well, the school is only a half a mile down that way…probably only take 2 minutes with the car, come on.
PVT.WAGNER
Belay that. We’ll walk.
DONNA
Ok , you walk, and we’ll drive over there…
PVT.WAGNER
Well. Your car kinda…exploded.
NATHAN
Exploded? How can it be exploded…?
PVT.WAGNER
Never mind that. We have to move. Now.
NATHAN
How does a car just…explode…?
EXT – TOWN PARK – DAY
The SOLIDER walks into the park. He sees a group of children playing on the playground.
The children stop and look the man.
CHILD
Hey mister…mister…what happened to your face?
The SOLDIER stares down at the child. He licks his lips.
CUT to the INFECTED walking into the park to meet their leader.
The SOLIDER wipes his bloody mouth off with the sleeve of his shirt. He begins to give them orders in their alien language.
SOLDIER
We MUST repopulate our new world. To ensure we continue living, we must make sure our new species is strong.
We see hundreds of homes down below from where they are. The SOLDIER looks down. He smiles.
SOLDIER
Keep the strong. Eat the weak.
All the INFECTED charge to the homes in front of them at startling speeds.
FADE OUT
CUT to our hero’s running through neighborhoods, very cautiously, looking out for any sign of danger. They hear a scream in the distance, they investigate.
As soon as they come around the corner, they see an awful sight. Blood, and bodies everywhere, of all ages. Mostly kids and women, DONNA is repulsed. NOLAN vomits.
They hear another scream, this time coming from a smoking house. They head inside.
NATHAN
Hello!? Hello!? Anyone here!? We can help you.
He looks up the stairs. Its very dark, he takes out his flashlight and points it up into the darkness. We see something move.
NATHAN
Hello? Look…we’re here to help you. Stay calm.
NATHAN keeps walking. Flashlight pointing ahead..
He looks down the hallway, into the bedroom.
He sees a woman, naked, afraid, sitting by the bed. Head down, motionless.
He gets down on his knees to help the naked woman. He finds a blanket, and covers her with it. He lifts her head up slowly, she’s a bloody mess.
WOMAN
They came….they came for us. Took Bob…killed…Henry…they KILLED HENRY! He was only 6 y-years old! Ate him alive. The screaming. I got away….stabbed him….now he’s dead….
NATHAN
Shh…its ok now…uh…DONNA! Army…guy…come quick!
He looks back down.
NATHAN
Look, I’ll be right back. You’ll be OK…
At that moment, she is PULLED under the bed at impossible speeds. She doesn’t even have time to scream. Blood sprays over NATHAN. He runs.
When he comes out of the house, he sees the rest of the hero’s fighting off the last few remaining INFECTED.
PVT. WAGNER
They just kept coming…out of the houses. Tons of them. We saw one of them get infected….it just happened so….We never thought they would spread this fast…
NATHAN gets furious.
NATHAN
What did you DO!
He SHOVES WAGNER into a wall.
PVT. WAGNER
I guess I should explain then.
NATHAN
You think?
NATHAN backs off. WAGNER fixes his collar.
NATHAN
Is this an experiment, a…test? What the hell are you guys DOING here…
PVT. WAGNER
Are you going to let me speak?
About 8 years ago, we caught samples of a drifting comet…when we studied the samples; we found that there was INDEED some kind of life on that piece of ice. Something was there. We tracked the comet, which we called HXS5. We were able to track its course, and it just so happened to land right in the middle of Ohio.
We picked the sample up. There was life indeed. But not as we know it, it didn’t have a shape, so it took one of our own. Got into him. Took over his body, it was like some sort of symbiotic organism. But nothing like we’ve ever seen.
PVT.WAGNER (CONT.)
We kept it locked up for a while. At first the man’s body didn’t accept it. It became translucent, and a lot of it just rotted of. But after a few weeks, the body took it, and …
PVT.WAGNER (CONT.)
Re grew itself. It began to get smarter everyday, no doubt learning from its host’s brain.
One day it got out. It killed every one. Aside from a few, me being one of them.
It chose whom it wanted. It would infect those who had…the necessary requirements it desired. If the person didn’t meet those requirements…it would eat its host. The fact of the matter is, these “creatures” live to breed. That’s their purpose. That is there mission….It will never stop.
DONNA
So, how do we kill them….
PVT.WAGNER
Oddly enough, the same as zombies. Remove the head, destroy the brain. So, here’s what needs to happen, find the keys to a car, take it, and we’ll head to the school until this passes over.
DONNA
Wouldn’t it be smarter just to leave town?
PVT. WAGNER
With the military picking off anyone who tries to leave? Yeah,.. no.
NATHAN sighs, and gulps.
NATHAN
I’ll get the keys.
NATHAN heads back into the house. Knowing full well the INFECTED person was still inside. They all wait, silence now.
Then NATHAN comes running out, screaming, as an INFECTED person chases him. PVT. WAGNER tries to fire the weapon, but he is out of bullets. The INFECTED man jumps onto him, and begins to “infect him”.
We see a long slimy tube come out of the INFECTED man.
INFECTED MAN
You’ll be one of us soon….stop fighting. There’s no point in…
DONNA whacks the INFECTED man’s head with the butt of the dropped gun. She continues smashing it until the head is nothing but mush.
NATHAN’s eyes hang open in a dead gaze.
NATHAN
Yeah…remind me never to piss you off.
DONNA pants, and throws the gun away. She goes over to WAGNER who is freaking out.
PVT.WAGNER
Oh god…you…you saved my life?
He says it in a way that seems like he is guilty of something.
DONNA
Yes I did, now, shall we go? Or just wait here?
The hero’s enter the car parked outside of the driveway, and drive off to find shelter.
They drive past the school and see INFECTED eating everyone. They obviously keep going.
They pass a parked Police car, NATHAN pulls over.
PVT.WAGNER
What are you doing? We don’t have time for this!
NATHAN opens the door to the police car, a previously eaten body falls out. NATHAN pushes it to the side. He goes and grabs the shotgun that lies there. He then snags a pistol, ammo clips, a can of mace, shotgun shells, tazser and a nightstick.
DONNA screams, NATHAN looks to at DONNA, she’s pointing, he looks, 5 or 6 INFECTED are heading his way. He looks around once more, and sees the radio, its behind on the edge of the seat. When he tries to grab it, it falls UNDER the seat.
NATHAN
Dammit!
DONNA
COME ON! HURRY!!
NATHAN tries harder to grab it, he extends his fingers the best he can…success! He grabs the radio and books it back to the car.
He starts it up, and goes straight, away from the infected. He then makes a sharp 180 degree turn, and heads towards the INFECTED. He proceeds to plow into them.
NATHAN laughs hysterically, DONNA just gives him a very stern stare. He stops.
NATHAN picks up the radio and proceeds to call for help.
NATHAN
This is DECTETIVE NATHAN RICHARDS, any one there, copy! Is there anyone there… copy!
A COP parked somewhere gets the call. He grabs the radio, and puts it up to his puss and blood covered lips.
COP
This is OFFICER CURTIS. What is your situation sir.
NATHAN
Oh thank god. Look CURTIS, we don’t know what the hell is going on. Our town is under attack. These….things…we’re the only ones left.
The COP licks his lips. He adjusts his voice.
COP
And how many of you are there?
NATHAN
Three. Just three.
COP
What’s your position?
NATHAN
Uhh…we’re uh, on…
DONNA
County Circle Road.
NATHAN
County Circle Road!
COP
Stay your course, I’ll converge in 5.
They keep on course until they see the COP. He turned his lights on. NATHAN stops.
The COP gets out of the vehical and walks up to NATHAN in the drivers seat. He rolls down the window, as he speaks.
NATHAN
Oh thank god you….
The COP grabs NATHAN’s face, and throws him out of the car. He then goes for DONNA.
DONNA punches the cop in the face. She grabs the can of MACE and sprays ALL of it into the COP’s eyes. He screams an inhuman scream of pain. NATHAN kicks the legs out from under him.
He runs back in the car. The COP grabs his radio and yells.
COP
BACK UP BACK UP. THERE ARE STILL SURVIORS. COUNTY CIRCLE ROAD.
Two more cop cars slide onto the road. Chasing our hero’s.
The COPS begin to fire at them, trying to hit the tires. NATHAN swerves in and out dodging the bullets being fired.
When the COP runs out, he picks up speed, and catches up to NATHAN. The COP starts to hit their car with his. They dodge his attacks. He looks at PVT. WAGNER.
NATHAN
Hey, grab the shotgun in the back. Use it.
PVT. WAGNER nods, and opens the car door. He turns to DONNA.
PVT. WAGNER
Hold on to me.
PVT. WAGNER hangs out of the car window, blasting shotgun shells into the COP’s window. After 2 shots, he hits the COP in the face. His car swerves and stops.
The second is right on their tails. This COP has better accuracy. He hits PVT. WAGNER in the arm, causing him to lose the shotgun.
NATHAN makes a sharp turn, and in doing so, he sees an opportunity. A ditch, deep enough to keep the COP there. He smiles, and turns the car around, facing the COP.
He accelerates towards the cop, and dodges him at the last second. The COP tries to swerve but he is too late. He falls down the ditch. Our hero’s cheer.
They keep driving for a while, DONNA sleeps.
(DREAM)
She awakes in an empty room. Only one little light is on. Her Husband DIRK appears.
DIRK
It was you DONNA. It was you all along.
DONNA looks up and sees a gigantic staircase. DIRK waits on the top step. Waving her to come up. It is an impossible task.
DONNA
I…can’t do it DIRK. I can’t.
DIRK
You must.
DONNA awakens. She looks at NATHAN who looks frightened, as does PVT. WAGNER.
DONNA
Why have we stopped…?
She sees soldiers covering the car. Their guns pointed right on our hero’s. It’s the end of the line.
EXT. - FARTHER OUT OF TOWN - DUSK
The SOLDIER and his army of INFECTED follow the military vehicles to the hidden army base, the SOLIDER watches the people get out, and sees the three survivors. He snarls, and continues forward.
The soldiers take our hero’s, all except for WAGNER.

EXT.—TOWN—DUSK
We see what everyday life is like in the little town. We HARD CUT to a punching bag, which immediately gets hit, very hard. We see various close ups of feet kicking, hands punching, hitting the bag with great force. We then reveal it is DONNA. She pants heavly. Her instructor gives
INSTUCTOR
Good form today. You’re getting better. But you must work on your footing. That’s your Achilles heal.
DONNA nods, and takes a sip of her water.
INSTRUCTOR
See you next week DONNA.
DONNA heads home. She gets out of her car, and opens her front door.
We then see DONNA in bed. She snuggles with her husband. She gives him a kiss, and roles back over. She then decides to roll over again, but all is not well.
She sees her husband; he has a huge knife lodged in his mouth. Blood pours down his face, she looks up and sees a man, large, in a black hoodie. He lunges at her.
She wakes up in a terror sweat. She turns over on her side, and there is a man lying next to her, but it was not the man in her dream. She starts to cry.
EXT – TOWN – DUSK
We see how the town functions as a whole. We pan to a man walking in the
We PAN into a local restaurant where we see DONNA, who is a waitress, finishing her last table before the day is up. DONNA washes her hands, and hangs up her uniform.
She then says, rather melancholy-
DONNA
All right JOYCE, I’m heading out.
JOYCE
You best not be heading out with that scumbag RICK. He lays just one his ugly fingers on you….I swear…lord, give me strength!
DONNA
He…he…
JOYCE
You don’t deserve this honey. I know it’s been a hard few years. I can’t imagine how hard it must be. But you have to realize it wasn’t your fault.
DONNA begins to tear up.
DONNA
After DIRK died….I…I just acted too…late…
She begins to sob. JOYCE holds her tightly.
JOYCE
Losing a husband is hard. I know how much you and JAKE loved him. He was a good man. This guy…he’s not DONNA. He’s not. How many times has he struck Jake? How many?
DONNA looks away. She doesn’t cry, she has an emotionless face.
JOYCE
Stay with me tonight. Bring JAKE; we’ll…go to the toy store, and then get some ice cream. Sound good?
RICK comes into the restaurant.
WAITRESS
Hello sir, look we’re closing right now so, you’re going to have to come back tomorrow.
RICK
Not here for food. Came to get my wife.
DONNA! Donna! Get over here now. We have a reservation for 8, its 7:56!
DONNA and JOYCE look at each other. RICK yells obscenities in the background.
JOYCE
Look, you’re one of the strongest women I’ve ever met, you’re dealing with the hardest thing you’ll ever have to, losing your husband. Now look at me. Don’t take any crap from this loser. He’s not worth it. You. Deserve. Better.
DONNA gets up. She’s wipe’s her tears, and becomes all fire. She walks out to RICK.
RICK
Oh good honey! Take as long as you need. We’re not in any hurry whatsoever!
He says sarcastically, as he rolls his eyes.
DONNA
No. I’m not in a hurry. I’m not going.
RICK goes from puzzled to furious.
RICK
What did you say? Get in the damn car.
DONNA
No.
RICK
I said get in the damn car.
DONNA walks toward RICK.
RICK
That’s more like it baby.
She walks right past him, and walks right out the door.
RICK
Get back here you little SKANK!
He grabs her by the arm, she gets out of his grip, he then slaps her across the face.
She stumbles back.
RICK
That’d teach you, you no good for nothing…
DONNA recoils her arm, and punches RICK right across the face. RICK stumbles, and tries to get up to look tough, but the hit was too much, he falls. DONNA walks away from him.
DONNA crosses the street, which now a red light. She dodges a few cars, but manages to cross the street just fine.
RICK yells at her while struggling to walk.
RICK
COME BACK HERE YOU LITTLE WHORE!
When I….get…over there, I’m going to…kick…ugh.
RICK stubbles across the street, cars are swerving out of the way.
However, one car doesn’t stop, and PLOWS right into RICK, killing him instantly. The car continues moving until it crashes into a pole.
DONNA rushes to check the wreck. She looks at RICK who is nothing more than a twisted, broken pile of meat, she feels nothing. She checks the driver, who appears to be dead. She opens the door, and the driver falls out, bloody and a mess.
She checks the driver’s pulse, nothing.
DONNA
Hey JOYCE! JOYCE! Get an ambulance quick!
But before she could finish her sentence, the driver leaps up and begins to attack DONNA, the driver begins to try and bite her, she manages to fend him off long enough for JOYCE to come to the rescue.
As she pulls the driver off, he turns around and attacks JOYCE, biting her neck. Blood spills everywhere. JOYCE tries to scream, but can’t due to the fact that her vocal cords have been ripped out.
The driver turns to DONNA and we see ITS eyes. They’re black, hollow, like a shark’s. The driver leaps at DONNA, but she dodges the attack. She then counters the attack with a swift kick to the face. The driver gets back up, blood oozing down its face, it then jumps at her again. DONNA quickly kicks it again, but this time she sent it falling backwards onto a piece of twisted metal.
The driver doesn’t get back up. She goes to check JOYCE. But all that is left is blood, and her hair ribbon.
JOYCE appears behind DONNA, and begins to attack her. DONNA screams, and just runs. JOYCE does the same, except she’s faster, and more agile then DONNA is, and quickly catches up to her. Before the JOYCE puts the final kill on DONNA, a loud gunshot is heard, and simultaneously JOYCE’s head explodes in a shower of blood and brain.
DONNA lets out a small short scream; she then turns to her savior, a cop, NATHAN holding his 9mm. She runs to him.
NATHAN
Get in the car! Hurry! They’re coming!
DONNA
WHO’s COMING! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!
NATHAN
Shut up and get into the…oh crap…
NATHAN sees more INFECTED run towards the car. He lets off a few shots, he hits a few in the head, one jumps and lands on the car. NATHAN gets in quickly. The INFECTED WOMAN begins to break the windows trying to get the meat inside. NATHAN starts the car, and gets out of there. The INFECTED WOMAN falls off the car, and lands HARD onto the road.
They’re driving in a normal car, not a cop issued car.
DONNA
What the hell were those things! Zombies? WHY ARE THERE ZOMBIES IN MY TOWN!
NATHAN replies in very out of breath pauses.
NATHAN
We…came across…these people, who were…we got a call about some…I don’t know…disturbances…
He swerves his car in mid speech.
DONNA
What disturbances! What are you talking about! Why are we in this….thing and not a police car!? ZOMBIES!???
NATHAN
(Cont.)
Then we saw these things. They killed 4 of my best friends, all of them. Then within maybe 20 seconds or so, they came back to life, I have no idea how to explain this…so look if you could be so very kind and shut up for a minute so I can figure out a place to go.
DONNA scowls, and sits back.
NATHAN
This was the only thing I could find. They took my car.
DONNA
Zombies….took you’re car?
NATHAN
They’re not zombies. In don’t know what they are.
They drive around the neighborhoods extremely fast looking for a place to go.
DONNA
So….where are we going exactly?
NATHAN
Somewhere to stay…
DONNA
MY SON! We have to go back! He’s with his baby sitter!
NATHAN
He’s probably dead, c’mon, we have to get to shelter...
DONNA doesn’t wait, she grabs the wheel in a furious rage, spins the car around, and NATHAN tries to regain control of the wheel. He does, and DONNA is panicking, so she does the only thing she can.
She grabs the gun from NATHAN’s belt, and holds it right to his face.
DONNA
Listen to me you prick, you take me back or else I’ll leave you for the zombies.
NATHAN
I didn’t have to save you! And they aren’t zombies!
DONNA
Just...please. Please take me back. He’s all I have left....please. I’d do anything to save him...please.
DONNA is in tears, NATHAN stuggles with what to do. He sighs, and turns around.
They arrive at DONNA’s house within a few minutes. They get out of the car, and both notice immediately that…
NATHAN
It’s so quite...did everyone leave...or...
DONNA heads into the house, she is still holding the gun.
DONNA
JAKE! JAKE! Honey please, tell Mommy if you’re here! JAKE! Honey!
They hear a small rustle in the next room. They open the door.
The sight they see is something truly ghastly. Blood, bone, organs, spewed everywhere. DONNA gasps, after which she vomits. NATHAN is very disturbed. His face is a blank stare.
After wiping her mouth…
DONNA
Oh my god....JUNEET...the baby sitter!
NATHAN
What’s left of her....
DONNA looks on the counter, and sees a envelope with the words MOMMY written on the front. She opens it. The Letter says…(in his writing)
Deer Mom
Ther was big monsters chasing us. They got Juneet. But I hided. I hided well. They dindt find me. So I ran to grandmas.
XXOOO Love Jake.
DONNA crumbles the paper, she begins to sob.
NATHAN
What’s wrong?
DONNA
It’s JAKE. He...went to his grandma’s. She lives on the other side of town.
There is rustling in the kitchen. They both look. Guns armed and ready.
They creep closer to the kitchen door, when suddenly the PHONE rings. They both jump. She checks the caller ID.
DONNA
It’s JAKE! JAKE honey, hello? Oh my god...I was so worried. Are you ok? Good. Are you with Grandma?
Yes...stay in the cellar. Don’t come out. Period. I will come and get you. I promise. I love you...too....
She hangs up the phone.
Suddenly an INFECTED person pops out from the kitchen.
NATHAN and DONNA react, they begin to fire at the assailant, he gets hit once or twice, but he just keeps on coming. He lunges at NATHAN, but NATHAN just whacks him in the head with the shotgun butt. The INFECTED person falls.
They leave immediately.
They head out to their car, however the car has disappeared. They’re quite puzzled, when suddenly a Soldier jumps out waving a gun in their faces.
PVT. WAGNER
Are you infected! Are you infected!
NATHAN
Uh…what? What the…who are you?
PVT. WAGNER
I’m PVT. WAGNER. I came with the military unit that arrived a few weeks ago. I’m all that’s left. We need a place to go. Somewhere big, and empty. Anything close by that fits that discription?
DONNA
Uh…well, the school is only a half a mile down that way…probably only take 2 minutes with the car, come on.
PVT.WAGNER
Belay that. We’ll walk.
DONNA
Ok , you walk, and we’ll drive over there…
PVT.WAGNER
Well. Your car kinda…exploded.
NATHAN
Exploded? How can it be exploded…?
PVT.WAGNER
Never mind that. We have to move. Now.
NATHAN
How does a car just…explode…?
EXT – TOWN PARK – DAY
The SOLIDER walks into the park. He sees a group of children playing on the playground.
The children stop and look the man.
CHILD
Hey mister…mister…what happened to your face?
The SOLDIER stares down at the child. He licks his lips.
CUT to the INFECTED walking into the park to meet their leader.
The SOLIDER wipes his bloody mouth off with the sleeve of his shirt. He begins to give them orders in their alien language.
SOLDIER
We MUST repopulate our new world. To ensure we continue living, we must make sure our new species is strong.
We see hundreds of homes down below from where they are. The SOLDIER looks down. He smiles.
SOLDIER
Keep the strong. Eat the weak.
All the INFECTED charge to the homes in front of them at startling speeds.
FADE OUT
CUT to our hero’s running through neighborhoods, very cautiously, looking out for any sign of danger. They hear a scream in the distance, they investigate.
As soon as they come around the corner, they see an awful sight. Blood, and bodies everywhere, of all ages. Mostly kids and women, DONNA is repulsed. NOLAN vomits.
They hear another scream, this time coming from a smoking house. They head inside.
NATHAN
Hello!? Hello!? Anyone here!? We can help you.
He looks up the stairs. Its very dark, he takes out his flashlight and points it up into the darkness. We see something move.
NATHAN
Hello? Look…we’re here to help you. Stay calm.
NATHAN keeps walking. Flashlight pointing ahead..
He looks down the hallway, into the bedroom.
He sees a woman, naked, afraid, sitting by the bed. Head down, motionless.
He gets down on his knees to help the naked woman. He finds a blanket, and covers her with it. He lifts her head up slowly, she’s a bloody mess.
WOMAN
They came….they came for us. Took Bob…killed…Henry…they KILLED HENRY! He was only 6 y-years old! Ate him alive. The screaming. I got away….stabbed him….now he’s dead….
NATHAN
Shh…its ok now…uh…DONNA! Army…guy…come quick!
He looks back down.
NATHAN
Look, I’ll be right back. You’ll be OK…
At that moment, she is PULLED under the bed at impossible speeds. She doesn’t even have time to scream. Blood sprays over NATHAN. He runs.
When he comes out of the house, he sees the rest of the hero’s fighting off the last few remaining INFECTED.
PVT. WAGNER
They just kept coming…out of the houses. Tons of them. We saw one of them get infected….it just happened so….We never thought they would spread this fast…
NATHAN gets furious.
NATHAN
What did you DO!
He SHOVES WAGNER into a wall.
PVT. WAGNER
I guess I should explain then.
NATHAN
You think?
NATHAN backs off. WAGNER fixes his collar.
NATHAN
Is this an experiment, a…test? What the hell are you guys DOING here…
PVT. WAGNER
Are you going to let me speak?
About 8 years ago, we caught samples of a drifting comet…when we studied the samples; we found that there was INDEED some kind of life on that piece of ice. Something was there. We tracked the comet, which we called HXS5. We were able to track its course, and it just so happened to land right in the middle of Ohio.
We picked the sample up. There was life indeed. But not as we know it, it didn’t have a shape, so it took one of our own. Got into him. Took over his body, it was like some sort of symbiotic organism. But nothing like we’ve ever seen.
PVT.WAGNER (CONT.)
We kept it locked up for a while. At first the man’s body didn’t accept it. It became translucent, and a lot of it just rotted of. But after a few weeks, the body took it, and …
PVT.WAGNER (CONT.)
Re grew itself. It began to get smarter everyday, no doubt learning from its host’s brain.
One day it got out. It killed every one. Aside from a few, me being one of them.
It chose whom it wanted. It would infect those who had…the necessary requirements it desired. If the person didn’t meet those requirements…it would eat its host. The fact of the matter is, these “creatures” live to breed. That’s their purpose. That is there mission….It will never stop.
DONNA
So, how do we kill them….
PVT.WAGNER
Oddly enough, the same as zombies. Remove the head, destroy the brain. So, here’s what needs to happen, find the keys to a car, take it, and we’ll head to the school until this passes over.
DONNA
Wouldn’t it be smarter just to leave town?
PVT. WAGNER
With the military picking off anyone who tries to leave? Yeah,.. no.
NATHAN sighs, and gulps.
NATHAN
I’ll get the keys.
NATHAN heads back into the house. Knowing full well the INFECTED person was still inside. They all wait, silence now.
Then NATHAN comes running out, screaming, as an INFECTED person chases him. PVT. WAGNER tries to fire the weapon, but he is out of bullets. The INFECTED man jumps onto him, and begins to “infect him”.
We see a long slimy tube come out of the INFECTED man.
INFECTED MAN
You’ll be one of us soon….stop fighting. There’s no point in…
DONNA whacks the INFECTED man’s head with the butt of the dropped gun. She continues smashing it until the head is nothing but mush.
NATHAN’s eyes hang open in a dead gaze.
NATHAN
Yeah…remind me never to piss you off.
DONNA pants, and throws the gun away. She goes over to WAGNER who is freaking out.
PVT.WAGNER
Oh god…you…you saved my life?
He says it in a way that seems like he is guilty of something.
DONNA
Yes I did, now, shall we go? Or just wait here?
The hero’s enter the car parked outside of the driveway, and drive off to find shelter.
They drive past the school and see INFECTED eating everyone. They obviously keep going.
They pass a parked Police car, NATHAN pulls over.
PVT.WAGNER
What are you doing? We don’t have time for this!
NATHAN opens the door to the police car, a previously eaten body falls out. NATHAN pushes it to the side. He goes and grabs the shotgun that lies there. He then snags a pistol, ammo clips, a can of mace, shotgun shells, tazser and a nightstick.
DONNA screams, NATHAN looks to at DONNA, she’s pointing, he looks, 5 or 6 INFECTED are heading his way. He looks around once more, and sees the radio, its behind on the edge of the seat. When he tries to grab it, it falls UNDER the seat.
NATHAN
Dammit!
DONNA
COME ON! HURRY!!
NATHAN tries harder to grab it, he extends his fingers the best he can…success! He grabs the radio and books it back to the car.
He starts it up, and goes straight, away from the infected. He then makes a sharp 180 degree turn, and heads towards the INFECTED. He proceeds to plow into them.
NATHAN laughs hysterically, DONNA just gives him a very stern stare. He stops.
NATHAN picks up the radio and proceeds to call for help.
NATHAN
This is DECTETIVE NATHAN RICHARDS, any one there, copy! Is there anyone there… copy!
A COP parked somewhere gets the call. He grabs the radio, and puts it up to his puss and blood covered lips.
COP
This is OFFICER CURTIS. What is your situation sir.
NATHAN
Oh thank god. Look CURTIS, we don’t know what the hell is going on. Our town is under attack. These….things…we’re the only ones left.
The COP licks his lips. He adjusts his voice.
COP
And how many of you are there?
NATHAN
Three. Just three.
COP
What’s your position?
NATHAN
Uhh…we’re uh, on…
DONNA
County Circle Road.
NATHAN
County Circle Road!
COP
Stay your course, I’ll converge in 5.
They keep on course until they see the COP. He turned his lights on. NATHAN stops.
The COP gets out of the vehical and walks up to NATHAN in the drivers seat. He rolls down the window, as he speaks.
NATHAN
Oh thank god you….
The COP grabs NATHAN’s face, and throws him out of the car. He then goes for DONNA.
DONNA punches the cop in the face. She grabs the can of MACE and sprays ALL of it into the COP’s eyes. He screams an inhuman scream of pain. NATHAN kicks the legs out from under him.
He runs back in the car. The COP grabs his radio and yells.
COP
BACK UP BACK UP. THERE ARE STILL SURVIORS. COUNTY CIRCLE ROAD.
Two more cop cars slide onto the road. Chasing our hero’s.
The COPS begin to fire at them, trying to hit the tires. NATHAN swerves in and out dodging the bullets being fired.
When the COP runs out, he picks up speed, and catches up to NATHAN. The COP starts to hit their car with his. They dodge his attacks. He looks at PVT. WAGNER.
NATHAN
Hey, grab the shotgun in the back. Use it.
PVT. WAGNER nods, and opens the car door. He turns to DONNA.
PVT. WAGNER
Hold on to me.
PVT. WAGNER hangs out of the car window, blasting shotgun shells into the COP’s window. After 2 shots, he hits the COP in the face. His car swerves and stops.
The second is right on their tails. This COP has better accuracy. He hits PVT. WAGNER in the arm, causing him to lose the shotgun.
NATHAN makes a sharp turn, and in doing so, he sees an opportunity. A ditch, deep enough to keep the COP there. He smiles, and turns the car around, facing the COP.
He accelerates towards the cop, and dodges him at the last second. The COP tries to swerve but he is too late. He falls down the ditch. Our hero’s cheer.
They keep driving for a while, DONNA sleeps.
(DREAM)
She awakes in an empty room. Only one little light is on. Her Husband DIRK appears.
DIRK
It was you DONNA. It was you all along.
DONNA looks up and sees a gigantic staircase. DIRK waits on the top step. Waving her to come up. It is an impossible task.
DONNA
I…can’t do it DIRK. I can’t.
DIRK
You must.
DONNA awakens. She looks at NATHAN who looks frightened, as does PVT. WAGNER.
DONNA
Why have we stopped…?
She sees soldiers covering the car. Their guns pointed right on our hero’s. It’s the end of the line.
EXT. - FARTHER OUT OF TOWN - DUSK
The SOLDIER and his army of INFECTED follow the military vehicles to the hidden army base, the SOLIDER watches the people get out, and sees the three survivors. He snarls, and continues forward.
The soldiers take our hero’s, all except for WAGNER.
