I don't know how many of you visit the customs section, but Hanouman just released his first WIP shot of his Joker sculpt today!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

looks smashing that! Probably needs more of a smile, bit more teeth showing and the eyebrows raising, but otherwise its phenomenal work.

Trying to source Joker/scarface, and Battledamaged Bats. I mean, needle in a haystack ofcourse, nothing on ebay. Im watching the bane on ebay but thats going to go for a big amount of money which im not prepared to pay, especially as I could get ivy and scarecrow from America posted for best part of £50ish

Hanouman has done a nice job there. It's not a perfect likeness but there's no denying it's a very impressive piece of sculpting. Will be intreresting to see what his sick version looks like.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

took delivery of Zsasz and Armoured bats today. great items. Also took delivery of isaac clark from DS2. Also a great figure.

Been looking on ebay.com, checking the figures out over there. Can pick up the SDCC Battledamage batman for only £45 posted. watching an extremly cheap joker, been opened but everything in mint condition which dont bother me, as im putting them on my shelf so....

Also watching a harley, though I swore id never buy her as im not a fan of the blatant disparity between AA and AC. I prefer the AA harley, because of Arleen Sorking, and she much butcher in AA but I prefer the visual look of AC harley. not as bulky, more cute and attractve/thinner like Harley is.

^ Yeah I prefer the look of the AC Harley over the AA one. The AC Harley figure is smaller than the AA one too which is nicer.
I don't think £45 is too bad for the SDCC BD Batman, especially taking postage into account too. I guess you could expect it to be more valuable anyway considering it was a con exclusive and was never sold loose on eBay or sold direct by Graphitti Designs like the recent Joker figure.
I notice you didn't mention getting Bane in your original post.... have you taken him out of the equation completely given the crazy prices he goes for nowadays?

Ive picked up the SDCC batman, conversion rate was £43.21 posted. very happy with that. And I ordered the joker from Graffiti last week, should be here by the end of january hopefully. Looking forward to getting that. I just need to stop going on ebay until, well im going away with the girlfriend for valentines day (its our 2 year anniversary too), so i probably wont buy anything in february.... I hope!

Bane? Ill get him, i just dont have the funds at the moment. I dont have enough for the BD batman, which is why tomorrow COD MW3 and a few 3DS games will be gone to get the money for it, got plenty of games to cash trade so, ill have enough.

Seen a Bane at $90, which is what, £55? add probably £20ish for postage, and ill pick it up after pay day (end of the month). Im not put off it at all, price.... steep but if its part of the collection, I WILL get it. Though id rather pick all the others up first then go after bane, as the way i look at it, I could get Atleast Ivy, Scarecrow and either joker or Harley for around £80 posted, which is roughly what bane alone would be. And eBay america theres loads.

But, if the one on ebay im watching is cheap enough, might have a punt and sell my soul for it, or a kidney. All depends on the market rates :thud: :rotfl

Just a quickie, theres no actual accessories for the BD batman is there? If its the same mould as the standard series 1 batman, I might put the batarang in BD's hands, make it look more similar to long night spent in Arkham, and leave the normal figure without accessories, just nice and fresh from the beginning of the night.

I'd hold off getting Bane just yet incase they release a new deluxe version later on. Actually, wasn't the second wave of AA figures being rereleased anyway? Might be wrong on that.

Did hear about them re-releasing the second wave. Should knock value off of bane and ivy, although ivy and scarecrow are the cheapest ones.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

From what I understand, and I could be wrong. DC Direct never re-releases figures. sometimes stores order more stock when they sell out. An exeption was made with AA series 1, due to the fact Big Bad Toy Store never received their share, and people who ordered from them were pissed they would have to resort to evilbay prices to get their figures. so DCD decided to do other run of series 1 to make up for their mistake.

A deluxe sized Bane is just wishfull thinking. it's funny how much more series 2 can fetch for on ebay, when Zsasz and Ivy are still going for regular prices. that means Bane and Armored bats is pushing the value.

He's actually since cut off the entire face and started over since he wasn't happy with how it was turning out! And yeah, he is really looking forward to the sick version. He's incredible with little details (check out his Two-face or Predator) so it will likely be even better than the regular one.

Correct - no accessories with the SDCC BD Batman. Yeah he is the exact same sculpt as the wave 1 Batman and the Batarang does fit in his hand perfectly. I actually have my BD Batman holding the Batarang and I've managed to get the regular Batman holding the Batclaw.

I think you're right about DCD not re-releasing as a general rule, and AA wave 1 being the exception. I presume people think they'll be re-releasing wave 2 of AA because they were all displayed at NYCC with the newer AC waves. I guess it's possible they could re-release them under the AC line since those characters were in AC, but as you say DCD don't generally re-release so they were possibly there just for show.
Personally I'm hoping for a new deluxe Bane in a future wave. I know it is just wishfull thinking, but it's not beyond the relams of possibility either.

Wow - cutting off the face is quite drastic! (and eerily similar to the recent new52 Detective storyline) :lol
But seriously though, that just stands to show how much of a professional he is seeing that it needed changing and sacrificing all his previous hard work to start fresh and get it right.

Do you have a picture for reference with the Wave 1 bats/bat claw? I dont like how the armoured holds it. i dont think its held like that in the game from memory but i cant remember. Always like the idea of getting the armoured bats to hold his cape or a pose similar to that.

Sure :) here you go:

One thing to note is that I did need to heat up the hand with some hot water to loosen the grip a little before allowing the Batclaw to fit in, but it sits in there nicely now. No chance of it falling out. In that last pic it looks like he has a finger missing but trust me it's there :lol you can almost see it just hidden out of view by the Batclaw.
I'm fairly sure that the way Armoured Batman holds the Batclaw is correct to the game, even though it does look a little awkward.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

much obliged! looks good. dunno why its metallic blue though. ah well!

anyway all being well on ebay, ill have joker and scarecrow for $78.42 posted so roughly £52. mega happy if i win at my maximum bids!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I elected not to continue bidding for the Scarecrow figure as it went to $35, and I knew that if I went for the joker, that would be $35, plus $30 postage, so it meant I was looking at $100,and I dont have £65 at this momentin time.

So, instead, ive saved my money, and ill stalk ebay for a while before adding any more to the collection. Otherwise, my Variant joker arrived from USA! Rather quick delivery. But, theres a few defects on the figure with the painting on the right leg and arm. its hard to explain like, but its not noticeable unless its close inspection.

Still waiting for my Normal batman to come from eBay. Ordered the one from USA before it, and its arrived before it.

Anyway, as im stalking eBay for a while, ive gone and bought Criminal Minds series 1-6 boxset for £48 off HMV. Thought sod it, love the programme, and most of the episodes I havn't seen.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Shame about the paint apps on your Joker figure. Like you I was suprised at how quickly they shipped though - very good service!
I have noticed recently that there seems to be a huge shortage of AA figures on the UK eBay site - and when they do appear they go for a lot of money. I also saw a Bane figure just sell in the UK for £58 which is almost triple the original price. Does seem like DCD figures tend to increase with value over time.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I think DC Direct increases in value over time cause they probably produce less copies then Neca or Marvel Select but I could be wrong.

makes me wonder how much the Arkham Asylum Play arts kai figures will go for. or the deluxe figures from these games like Mr.Freeze.

I wouldve bought the bane for £58, was up at 2am watching it. then drifted to sleep :slap

But yes, a few little things on joker but im not too bothered. Got my wave 1 batman in the post. got the figure in a post where he is holding his cape back and is about to throw the batarang. took me a few minuets to hook the cape inbetween the middle finger, but id look allright!

But ebay is shocking at the moment of AA figures. american ebay is flooded with them, and its often cheaper to get them from there than the uk!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah the UK eBay only seems to have AC series 1 at the moment. Good luck finding the ones you want though Fernandofan! (edit: Just noticed there's a new Bane on UK eBay today you may be interested in)
Sounds like you've got your batman in a cool pose, you should post a pic when you get chance.

I'm hoping we'll get to see some new AC figures at NY-Toyfair in Feb. At the very least the rest of the series 3 line-up would be great to see. Anything more than that would be an awesome bonus, though I suppose there's always a chance we won't see anything new at all too.....
