Any news on those John Wu samples Dio? Really curious to see how it looks. Even just seeing the raw sculpt on a body goes a long way.

No news for now, I'll ask him if it's possible to have a picture on the body.

yes. always tossed and turned between getting a lu1 joker sculpt

knowing people. they wont pose him like that or at least those who have custom clothes. inart clothing? fair game.

It’s an amazing sculpt and I had one reserved but had to pass as it was too expensive for me.

So sorry to hear that man... Hopefully you found another one.

How much was it ? I was told there's only 10 of them in the world. I thought it was a secret project or something because i've never seen one finished nor a post saying it's up for preorder.
But I got a chance to get one the past few days.

likely wechat order. some of these artists mainly work through wechat so its more secretive for us foreigners

it feels like johnwu has an abundance of lu1 sculpts and nancy sculpts. i don't wanna read much into it without any proof but it almost feels like his earlier work was primarily finishing recasted work off of aliexpress/ebay with how dirt cheap some of the finished sculpts were going for

It's not a secret that John works on both original sculpts and copies, basically whatever the customer will give him/ask, but he gets them from a seller that sells somewhere else, in fact he never heard about Aliexpress before I told him about it.
But it feels like all the artists/producers are all pretty open about it, whether they accept it or not I don't know but I feel like it's pretty much accepted by this point.
I know Heise doesn't accept working on copies but I think Yuan does, but i'm not sure. I know that most artists do though.

I got 2 heads that are copies painted by John, one of them from Lu1yo and one from Yixie/Mike. I personnally don't mind if It's my only option to get a specific sculpt, but if I can avoid it and have an opportunity I'll go for original before copies even if it means I have to invest way more money.

Like for my Nurse Joker I couldn't find any Yixie/Mike original scultp that was unpainted, and in a way i'm happy I didn't because I had to ask someone to modify it and get rid of the neck, imagine if it was an original, it would break my heart.

yes, i dont believe black accepts copy work. not sure about yuan. tbh I only a few artists forbid or don't want accept copy work, yelim in particular being the big one but that makes sense. most artists wont go out of their way asking about COAs and such. at the end of the day you're paying painters to paint and hairers to hair. doesn't matter what the blank is

just certain artists rub me the wrong way buying crap on ebay, painting it up and selling it or encouraging recasting because "custom prices are a joke" (I'm talking about ste bird (asswipe ))

I remember seeing this from john. i don't remember there ever being a neckless version at all and if memory is right, he cut it. only normal neck and neck + chest offered from mike. looks really great. might I say better than mishi's 1/6 work. the headsculpt they're doing just isn't it to me, but do quite like how they did the hands for the phicen body but I'm not swinging 2k for a set of hands that look nicer against the thick phicen wrist lol

John does get the best quality copies on the market when a customer asks for one, he showed me a picture of an original and a copie next to each other one day and the only difference was the resin color, but everything else was close to perfection.

Yeah what I did is track someone in China that could do the modification, I found jianghe3489 thanks to the guy that sold me my first Joker custom head and luckily enough John knew him so I asked John to send the sculpt straight to him so he can cut the neck off.
Once he did he sent it back to John so he could do his magic on it.
It was my first time dealing with John and it was a blast ! Everything happened so smoothly and he was genuinely passionate and happy to work on that project of mine and I could tell.
It was an awesome first experience.

Man I appreciate it, that figure is my pride and joy, i've been so happy with the result and that entire journey, it was awesome and gave me a new spark for this hobby.
It was a lot of hours invested in research and stuff but it was worth it.
I actually told John that I think his sculpt is probably the best Nurse Joker in the world right now and even better than Mishi's.
The only thing that Mishi does better is the outfit obviously but also the hands.

The outfit is the one from ToyMon Studio, I'm hoping to replace it with a better one in the future... I've been trying to convince Topo to finally launch the project and I told them which body looks the best from all my research and gave them as much infos as I could.
Now it's on them to finally do it.

good to have john as a connection, jianghe is a notoriously hard artist to get in contact with for foreigners since he only uses Chinese platforms now. no longer Instagram

name of the game. passion projects fuel me in this hobby. something special about doing all the research and actually putting it into affect and having it materialize into something you can hold. from start to finish. i got a few projects lined up, not in particular for joker though I have a few stuff in mind on the drawing board, I've been really wanting to make my own figures because many of the mass produced offerings and certain custom works just don't cut it for me. needs to be more and better, as accurate as possible.

iris clothing is a notch up but its no surprise, I'm sure if arranged a project with someone like 2ouble, he'd gladly take it since its an easier costume to tackle. just lots of trinkets to put on his shirt. there is someone doing the cop funeral parade look for joker as a full custom project. looked cool, but way too niche of look for me to want to invest in

I spoke to topo a little bit and it seems their phoenix joker (red suit) and also the joker 2 set is put on a back burner for now since inart announced theirs

Saw this custom the other day on IG. Not sure what sculpt it is, but I dig it. Clothing is obviously WonderWorld’s set

Never to be finished it seems, always upgrading something. Waiting on the new sculpt, coat, and a metal and wood Remington.

I still prefer Iris over WW, using WW grey blazer here, Dino tie.

IRIS has always been the set to be bettered.
